Charles Barkley on LeBron vs. MJ: “LeBron is a nice guy, Michael and Kobe, they want to kill you at all cost, that’s what separate them… LeBron is a great basketball player, them other two guys, they were fanatics, they were dangerous.”
They made more mean faces and did worse things to their teammates is what he means
I don’t know what you mean, Kobe froze out Jeremy Lin when Jeremy asked him to talk to him like a man because Kobe just has that killer instinct that makes him degrade other people
He gets asked this all the time my goodness
Yes but still, who would he rather have a beer with?
Jordan seems like he would be mean to you for fun
“Drink it, you fucking midget!”
He’d find a way to make the night a life or death competition of wills.
A bro date with MJ feels like one of those horror movies that takes place entirely in one room.
The guy was literally making up stories in his head about some guy on the opposing team. He was a meanie for the love of the game
Kobe dead last in this contest. He’d probably sit at the other end of the bar.
MJ would make you pay for the drinks.
I’d still pick MJ
Kobe dead last in this contest.
I mean… technically yea.
Barkley over any of them.
Definitely not Lebron
LeBron. He seems a lot more chill and would pick up the tab for a few rounds at least.
Barkley has been repeating this same “nice guy who defers” nonsense since before LeBron won his first ring.
This was the basis for the idiotic “LeBron isn’t clutch because he passed to an open shooter” narrative that mostly disappeared once LeBron won a ring. Only the laziest talking heads (Barkley and Skip Bayless) have continued to cling to it.
Barkley in January 2012:
“I tell people, LeBron James is a great, great player. But I think he’s just one of those nice guys, ‘Well Dwyane’s back, I’m going to defer to him.’” “My personal opinion is he just doesn’t have an aggressive personality,” he added. “You saw when Dwyane was out, LeBron had like monster games. He almost averaged a triple-double.” “He’s a really nice guy. I’ve said that before. LeBron James is just a really nice guy.”
“I tell people, LeBron James is a great, great player. But I think he’s just one of those nice guys, ‘Well Dwyane’s back, I’m going to defer to him.’”
“My personal opinion is he just doesn’t have an aggressive personality,” he added.
“You saw when Dwyane was out, LeBron had like monster games. He almost averaged a triple-double.”
“He’s a really nice guy. I’ve said that before. LeBron James is just a really nice guy.”
isnt there a famous clip about MJ passing to steve kerr for one of the game winners in the finals?
And Paxton in 93 as well. Almost like Jordan needed competent teammates to win important games too.
I honestly think deep down, he can’t wait to get out of this business altogether. I’m sure financially, It’s been very kind to him and his family. And the perks must be outstanding. The guy is 63. He loves the game, and it’s probably all he really knows. But dude has to be completely checked out at this point.
This is an OG LeBron talking point
Seriously. Lebron closes games the fuck out, why is this narrative of being a “killer” so pervasive? Lebron (deservedly) got flack for being way too timid in that Dallas series, but he has shown up in every other finals series since.
Then again people complain about Bron passing to Allen for the game winner but never mention Jordan passing to Paxton and Kerr for the winning shot.
It’s such a superficial, vacuous argument. Besides, I’d rather be a nice guy than a gambling addict asshole or rapist. But that’s just me.
it genuinely seems like LeBron is punished for maintaining his composure and being a generally good person while also having the ability to do whatever it takes to win at the biggest moments
And having the BBIQ to make the winning play rather than force his own shot.
Yep, not to mention the willingness to give up the ball to others in those situations
LeBron carried the team the last part of the game, there’s no Ray Allen final shot without LeBron
Not to mention I think the fact that LeBron is in the GOAT conversation and is still seen as a decent person is more of an argument for him. I’ve never understood the argument that simply being a psycho was inherently a plus.
not even just the finals, lebron has been a playoff killer for over a decade consistently in every round of the playoffs. The fact that people use the same talking points that haven’t been relevant in 15 years is crazy im so sick of this narrative
That’s not what happened in game 6 vs spurs but whatever details don’t matter
Yeah just corrected myself in the other comment lol 😂
What game are you referring to him passing to Ray Allen?
I misspoke a bit; people (particularly Skip) say he doesn’t have a clutch gene cause he missed the three to tie the game, and was “bailed out” by Allen. It ties into the killer/clutch argument but yeah I slightly misremembered it lol
Lebron also took a lot of crap when passing to Donyell Marshall and Danny Green for shots at the end of playoff games instead of shooting, and the argument is “Jordan wouldn’t have done that”.
Which completely erases times when Jordan did pass it in similar situations (example Steve Kerr in the 1997 Finals) or doesn’t ask the question of if Jordans approach was even the best one (see the Bulls only scoring 9 points in the fourth quarter of Game 6 of the 1993 Finals before Paxson hit the 3 to clinch it)
We act like he didn’t do this as a 41yr old.
This was true about LeBron until June 7, 2012 iykyk
yep been hearing it since the early 2010s

It’s still so wild to me that Kobe gave himself that nickname post-rape as a complete rebrand (that was not how he was seen by anyone beforehand) and it actually worked. It’s the corniest nickname and he’s a rapist that nicknamed himself, and somehow everyone decided that’s cool.
That mamba mentality
There it is
Saying it like MJ and Kobe were terrorists.
“Jordan could never do 9/11”
And I took that personally.
Kobe could
Kobe would be 9⁄21
Well, Kobe did rape a girl.
And paid for Vanessa to be homeschooled when she was 16 after he got banned from picking her up from school
Kobe Seinfeld
Not surprised.
Kobe for President 2028
Kobe never took no for an answer
He’s not the only one. Paul Pierce in explaining why Kobe was the toughest player to guard called him “a basketball serial killer”.
Really hit home for me when I watched the Redeem Team documentary and he was all buddy buddy with Gasol. And then once the match started against Spain, Kobe said he was gonna run through mfer’s chest. And he did.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HiKOSw9RmAc
Imagine if they had social media back then lmao
I never understood this take, LeBron is an absolute killer on the court. I think people see how chill and goofy he is off the court and just assign that attribute to him as a player as a whole
the consequence of social media. If it was present during MJ and Kobe era youd probably see a carefully curated version of MJ life and seen as a nice guy. Kobe wouldve been seen loving father but the case he had against him might have pushed him out the league.
If Miles Bridges can stay in the league, Kobe could have, too. His crime was worse, but he was more important to the league.
What? LeBron has been playing since 03, long before social media is what it is today. Nothings changed about him or how he’s perceived.
If it was present during MJ and Kobe era youd probably see a carefully curated version of MJ life and seen as a nice guy.
Are you seriously trying to claim that if everyone had a phone in their pocket and a way to instantly send videos around the globe that his drinking/gambling/egregious assholery would have got less attention?
Unless the dude became a fucking hermit he would have been eaten alive in the social media era.
The Toronto Raptors would agree
Also the Game 6 2012 Celtics
Also the Pacers (any year)
I think it also applies to how you are with teammates. I think MJ’s teammates were so terrified of him, they didn’t want to make mistakes. If a Jordan teammate made the blunder that JR Smith made in the finals, you’d never find his body. But LeBron goes golfing with JR smith.
So you think that NBA players don’t care about making mistakes unless they have a teammate who will yell at them?
FFS they made Cartwright the team Capitan because Jordan’s unhinged behavior was having the opposite impact on team morale.
“Yo daddy a killa but you ain’t you just like Bronny James”
This is actually a compliment to Lebron
Micheal Jordan, Kobe, Tom Brady, etc, nearly every top level athletes, sacrifices their personal and family lives to be great.
Lebron’s played in the league for 20+ years and has maintained all that. He’s a relatively normal guy despite being a freak.
I think, in hindsight, maybe MJ would sacrifice a championship or two to have spent more time with his kids. Same for Brady.
This is a great take. People love to lionize Jordan and Kobe’s psychopathic need to win at all costs. In real life, it is much better to be a normie dad than a psychopathic “winner.”
A lot of those guys also forget their can usually only be a handful of winners. If you lose, you’re just an asshole with nothing
If you’re a normal guy with a healthy family, you always win even when you lose.
i waste hundreds of hours on reddit but this is probably one of the more profound comments I’ve read
No they wouldn’t, they’re psychopathic competitors. MJ even said to compete to win, it’s all he lives for. If anything they’d sacrifice more time if it means another title for either of them.
but being an athlete is a relatively short time in life - what happens when it is over?
Then you have MJ crying in his documentary that his teammates don’t talk to him anymore.
You become a terrible owner in Charlotte?
That’s with hindsight.
I don’t think MJ or Brady would sacrifice a championship for anything. I do think they would sacrifice more family time for another championship though. They were psychos when it came to competition.
I feel like Brady straight up proved he would sacrifice his family for another ring lol.
Maybe 20 years from now he’d have a different answer, but that’s different.
I think, in hindsight, maybe MJ would sacrifice a championship or two to have spent more time with his kids
Not sure about that. Jordan straight up broke down in tears during The Last Dance talking about being a competitive maniac/asshole.
True, but tbf The Last Dance was a Jordan directed legacy piece and it’s hard to tell where Jordan the Character and Jordan the Person begin and end.
Though to this day I think he doesn’t really give a shit about Marcus so I’m probably wrong lmao
Sure, that’s an argument. But I genuinely think that’s just who he is deep down.
Also he did retire for two years during his prime. So it’s not like it didn’t catch up to him.
Jordan IMO is one of the most genuine people in sports. This dude is just who he is, Ive never seen him be phony or put on a persona about anything
Wow I’ve never met anyone who knew MJ personally. How is he as a person in daily life?
lol
Idk, I think he hides it better. You definitely see the ego and drive, but unlike Kobe, MJ, and Tom he was a international superstar at like 16 so he has been media trained for most of his life, kind of like a child actor. He definitely has skeletons in his closet, but i find it most impressive that there hasn’t been a scandal yet in his life despite all the media attention he has had.
okay but imagine how much greater lebron could be if he had mj or kobes mindset and instinct.
Another r/nbatalks level post
Same fucking topic for a quarter of a century oh my god
LeBron was such a nice guy coming back down from 3-1 against the most winningest team ever
I can’t stop staring at what that fan is doing 😂
We’ve got old Grandmama in front of a fan. My ADD isn’t letting me focus on anything Chuck is saying.
It’s clearly AI. /s
What did Allen Iverson do to the fan
I think it’s a reddit thing. Users are always saying it’s Allen Iverson when commenting on posts. I don’t know how it started though
“LeBron is a great basketball player, them other two guys, they were fanatics, they were dangerous…” he continued, “but Bam got 83.”
“LeBron is a great basketball player, them other two guys, they were fanatics, they were dangerous…”
he continued, “but Bam got 83.”
How many times do we have to hear this same stupid thing?
There are multiple players that played against Bron in his prime that said they were scared of that man. Charles is full of shit
Dude had entire teams shitting their pants let alone players lmao wth is Barkley on about
Yeah go ask the entire eastern conference during the 2010s if they thought LeBron was a nice guy while he was kicking their ass every year
Just need to wait until one of LeBron’s contemporaries is asked this question
Of course the guy that MJ punked is going to pick MJ, picking LeBron is like dogging on yourself if you’re an old head like chuck
Kendrick Perkins said literally prayed LeBron would tear his ACL before the game
Al Horford talked about Game 7 when he was exhausted and looked at Lebron on the opposite side and said he was shook at how Lebron was just a machine and played the whole game
I don’t feel like I should have to actually say this but Barkley has a particularly strong interest to prop up the players that were better than him during his era of play
Like you can’t go ringless and then say the guy who kept you ringless isn’t the goat, that would take a level of humility no pro athlete would ever manage
I, for one, enjoy that LeBron isn’t a psycho like Jordan and Kobe.
Yeah like thank you LeBron for breaking the stigma that you need to be psychotic to be great
Taco Tuesday!!!
Earlier this year he was playing around and dancing before the game and the media asked him to explain himself. His response was basically “I don’t know I’m a 41 year old child, I’m just having fun.”
I love that man. The popularization of Kobe and Michael’s killer instinct hustle mentality and being a killer all the time is horrible and IMO fucked a lot of guys in the head.
What’s funny is nobody is better at finishing series than LeBron. Kobe blew a 3–1 lead and quit. If you go down in a series against LeBron, you’re basically screwed. Tired narrative.
who fucking cares
Fossils from a bygone era.
In late 1999, when he was 21, Bryant met the girl who would put an end to his bachelor days. Vanessa Laine, 16, aspiring model and high-school sophomore, was working as a background dancer in a Snoop Dogg video that was shooting at the same studio where Bryant was trying to film his own rap video. (For a brief moment, Bryant wanted a future as a rap star.) The two clicked immediately. “He was into her,” recalls Snoop.
Soon, Bryant was picking up Laine at school in his black Mercedes and dropping her off in the mornings. (The teenager was living with her stepgrandfather at the time and had lots of freedom.) When TV news crews got wind of the romance, they regularly began flying helicopters over the Marina High campus in Huntington Beach, Calif., to get shots of the couple. The courtship caused such a stir that school authorities banned Bryant from coming near campus or attending any school events with her. Marina High officials declined to discuss the matter. “It just set this bad example for the school and the kids, but Kobe didn’t understand what the message was when he dropped her off early in the morning,” says his friend Tonahill. Bryant’s eventual answer to the problem was to pay for Vanessa to be home-schooled.
As disapproving as school officials were, it was nothing compared with the disappointment of Bryant’s family, who watched as Kobe became “unnaturally attached” to Vanessa, as one family friend put it. With her long, fire-engine-red fingernails and black lipliner, Vanessa had little in common with the successful young women Kobe had romanced in the past. The family thought she was too young and uncultured, and the fact that she wasn’t black–Laine’s mother is Hispanic and her father is white–didn’t help. His teammates didn’t know what to make of Vanessa, either. “We all knew he got so attached to her because he needed a friend, someone to hang out with,” says a fellow Laker. “I’m not sure if it was love, or he was just happy that someone accepted him with no complaints. He didn’t understand that she was a kid and she was in awe of him.” When Tonahill asked Kobe what he saw in the 16-year-old, he responded, “She’s pure, and innocent, and not jaded by the world.”
Reads like a total creep. Already weird for someone who can legally drink to go after a high schooler (probably a sophomore no less) but Kobe was rich and famous and could have gone for anyone else
He was a rapist so he went for rape.
Old heads have the funniest ways of analyzing players
“X is a better pure score than LeBron.”
LeBron, the all-time leading scorer of the NBA.
“Ain’t got no bag?!?! I got like 50 -billion- points!”
Yeah sorry Chuck but I care more about the results on the court than if they were mean mugging in the right way while playing.
LeBron is so much better than Kobe it’s not even funny.
Kobe just shouldn’t be in the conversation with MJ and LeBron. Kobes an all time great, but he no where close to the greatest of all time.
Samaki Walker recalls a crying Kobe Bryant apologizing after sucker punching him for $100
“We go to Cleveland and we’re shooting at the end of practice. You know, everybody shooting the long shot – \(100. So for \)100 you get the pot, so long story short, Kobe end up winning the pt, and the rule is you got 48 hours to pay and then you’re good. So, everybody paid,” Walker recalled. “The very next day, we on the bus… he said, ‘Yo, you got my money.’ My wallet not with me, I’m in my practice gear. I said, ‘I got you when we get back.’ I told him I would pay him his money and I put my headphones back on. ‘BOW!’ Took off ’em.”
The ferocity and desire of Samaki were so apparent to all that even though he patiently waited in the team bus as all the other players returned from their shoot-around practice session, Kobe quietly took a taxi instead of returning to the team bus to avoid a full-blown altercation. Even more interestingly, shortly after KB24 even sent an emotional apology to the 6’9″ power forward.
“I went from 0 to 60, I’m thinking I’m gonna kill this motherf—er. Like I don’t care who he is, Imma kill him,” Walker continued. “We get back to the bus, he took a taxi, he gone. He ain’t on the bus. My light blinking on my phone and I get a message from him. Motherf—er crying, swear to God, Man, I didn’t know why I did what I did with my friend.’ He literally on the phone, emotional, which made me understand there’s some s—t going on here bigger than basketball,” Walker said.
Unlike MJ and Kobe, LeBron is a happily married family man with no history of gambling addiction, divorce, or sexual assault.
this is such a weak argument
It simply explains why they were different types of players. LeBron will easily get teammates involved and is a better passer, those two other killers won’t and are not as good passers
Mario Chalmers said it best “Nobody fears Bron”
Apparently to some, Kobe shooting over 5 guys is a better mentality than making the right basketball play
Not everything this guy says is worth posting or worth our time.
I am so tired of this stupid topic
Did the players in the 90s stand around the cameras after the game with their hand covering their mouth smiling and joking with the other team after being eliminated in the playoffs.
Not saying Bron does this but the modern NBA buddy buddy thing is annoying to see at times
Kobe was a chucker
Kobe absolutely owned your team lmao
Ok? Barkley, carmelo, kobe, westbrook, iverson, etc. all these people were chuckers. Only difference is kobe actually played defense now and then.
They were assholes… but they could shoot.
This is such a stupid take, being an asshole doesn’t make you better at basketball. Charles and MJ didn’t talk for years cause of this
its cause they stuck their tongue out and lebron doesnt which means he got no venom.
So what he is saying is they are his favorite players because they were kids who couldn’t regulate their emotions? Got it.
I would say it’s a negative to rely on some cheap put-on sicko mentality when LeBron can just be a normal guy and get in the same conversations
Kobe was super dangerous in 1 on 1 situations, especially when no one was looking
Fucking edge-lords in this thread.
I heard this one time and I agree, about LeBrons game.
He’s the type of guy who will pin the shit out of shot against the backboard then yell “do better” as he’s running down the court
This is the EXACT sentiment. The killer mentality is what Lebron lacks.
By the same logic KG is better than Duncan, but we know that Charles doesn’t think that.
Revisionist history
LeCordial
More than one way to be great. Just bc Chuck and co. feared Mike overtly don’t mean that’s the only standard. Ask team execs and coaches if there was covert LeBron fear the first 18 years of his career and in situational awareness even now.
Toronto fans might feel a bit differently about LeBron. Dude seemed like he was put on this planet to crush the hearts and dreams of anyone up north.
Jeff Teague is 0-12 against Bron in the playoffs, Atlanta and Indiana didn’t fare much better
The most sophisticated analysis we can get from a Hall of famer is still essentially, “MJ, Kobe had killer instinct, LeBron doesn’t.”
I think he means psychopathics.
Saying LeBron isn’t a fanatic when he calling out other teams plays and running the same plays back to back to demoralize a team on purpose is the same level of dangerous lol.
But I don’t expect Barkley to give LeBron any high praise other than he’s a great player tbh. We all know the history.
I wonder if Charles would feel the same way if LeFraud stopped ring chasing and just retire
Some day LeBron’s gonna be on his literal deathbed and we’ll have some dickhead ass reporter asking his doctor “so, who fought off death better: MJ or LeBron?”
They’ve asked him this all the time his answer hasn’t changed let’s move on
But what about you Charles?
Sure.. like Miami Bron or first stint insane athletic Cleveland Bron wasn’t dangerous s
I do feel like that is a main reason why people don’t like LeBron but love MJ and Kobe. “Wanting to kill” them on the court doesn’t necessarily make them better on the court, though. It’s just an attitude.
Kobe was a larper, just ask Samaki Walker.
Bro how many times is he going to say this SAME EXACT fucking statement worded one or 2 different ways
How many times is he going to be asked? At least he is consistent and not flip-flopping, it’s Charles Barkley after all.
LeAffableFellow
It’s a whole lot easier to straight up lock in and go get a bucket. That’s what they consider killer instinct. Lebron has so much more on his plate. His team mates and his teams are depandant on him generating gravity and distributing the ball as well as scoring it. And that job requires composure and serenity at all times. So a different type of a killer, asassin
This take expired in 2013
bro talking like a 6 year old who discovered youtube nba highlights
Every week with this point
Reddit and NBA players opinions on Kobe are such a 180. Why do nba players bast or present love him way more than it seems fans do?
Just cos on the exterior a guy acts “nice” doesnt mean he don’t got killer instinct.
yawn
I’m going to keep spreading this around because it’s true and should be pointed out any time this MJ v Lebron tired debate comes up. (not like it’s my take but it’s still true).
There’s no such thing as a GOAT.
“Great” is subjective. People often mean “accomplished” and use rings as one of the very most key barometers when measuring this. Even this is dumb. And I say this as a MJ guy. Bill has 11 by the way. Teams couldn’t afford to keep a core together long enough to get a fraction of the rungs that many. The league is also more balanced now with more competitive teams. See 8 different champions in the last 8 years. So what is with this individual value fixation on something that’s a team accomplishment?
Many greats played before there was even 3 point line. Now the game largely focuses around it. So winning rings is different. The game is different. It’s officiated different. Where does that leave us?
There’s no such thing as a GOAT. There are only great players you can compare within their era.
Mj was great. Dominated. Lebron was great. Dominated. That’s it.
Barkley would have had a killer mentality but he played in Philly during the late 80s and early 90s, when actual killers were in the crowd, so had to adjust
how many times is somone, anyone, going to make this same fucking point. 💤💤💤💤💤
When you are a billionaire and spend ridiculous amounts on your body, do you really need any other edge to play at your highest level? Lebron literally comes to play physically and mentally, so why should he need a killer instinct when he’s already playing at 98 or 99% without it? He just has a different approach, but it’s not less valid just because he doesn’t need a killer instinct.
Plus, the biggest difference is now every serious contender has multiple all star level players. The days of being able to win games by yourself are long over… passing is absolutely required. Look at SGA struggling when he is doubled - if he was an elite passer too, there wouldn’t even be a strategy against him.
Dumbest argument of all time. Yeah man, the guy who spends millions on his body every year and is still playing at 41 isn’t fanatical. Go watch what LeBron did to the Toronto franchise. Or LeBron when he blocked Curry in the 2016 finals. He absolutely wanted to kill everyone. He’s just more PR friendly off the court.
this is just the perception based on their behavior, lebron on the court is a killer, he’s just not an asshole
Without looking at the comments I bet I know who this thread is really going to be talking about
Why you wanna kill someone playing basketball? The toxic masculinity is funny not funny.
Time to add ‘Asshole Over Expected” to basketball-reference. LeBron not even league average in AOE. Can’t be the goat with those numbers.
Looks like people stopped watching ESPN and Inside the NBA in favor of NBA on Prime and real analysts, so now theyre just attention seeking
Those glasses tho …. smh
Different personalities don’t change greatness because LeBron has dominated for two decades without trying to be Michael or Kobe.
Can’t wait for this to stop being a talking point when LeBron retires. It’s so tired and not even true, just mythologising asshole behaviour without the context of LeBron absolutely being a killer on the court. He’s just a normal dude off it not some fake tough guy.
LeBrons “killer instinct” is that he constantly makes the right play over and over again from the 1st to the 4th quarter till the point it demoralizes the coaches and players. Then look at the box score and he has 35/10/11. I guess you have to make mean faces to be label as a iller on the court. Chuck just hates Bron
Run of the mill stuff here
Kobe was also dangerous to women
OMG just … stop it already. GOAT this GOAT that.
It’s like the Messi Ronaldo debate then the Messi Maradona… just drop it, enjoy what you see.
Also, LeBron is currently the GOAT, he is topping most stats, he has broken records that we thought they’ll never be broken and he carried every crappy team to at least Conference finals.
MJ was amazing, yes, truly exceptional, but you oldies want him to be the GOAT so badly it’s like you don’t want to be real that you got old and now there is someone better out there. Typical “back in my day” mindset.
I’ve had the pleasure of watching them both play in their prime. I can’t wait for the “next” GOAT, it’s truly marvellous to see players go beyond what we thought was the limit - just enjoy and move the fuck on.
It’s crazy we were having these comparisons a decade ago and Bron is basically still Bron. Should cement him as #1 to me
As a Pacers fan I disagree, LeBron has not been very nice to my team.
Even when I was a kid it confused me that passing to your open teammate was considered a negative in the goat debate. It’s so dumb to me.
Those glasses are terrible, make him look like an old lady
Tired of reading this same take for 15 years give it a rest
Ive never heard anyone say lebron isnt dangerous when playing basketball. If anything he might be more dangerous because of his more complete game.
This is constantly the dumbest take. Bc LeBron wasn’t an asshole he’s a lesser basketball player. Kobe and Jordan NEEDED that to fuel them, LeBron doesn’t
Kobe raped a girl in Colorado,.and his wife was underage.
Really pointless to compare.
Sport science have progress such a long way that the league is way too competitive. Analytics and overall team defense and team offensive is way more important. Players aren’t allowed to take inefficient shots anymore. How much film analysis on opponent team is way more.
MJ and Kobe in their original form might just be a normal player in modern NBA or even on the worser end. The league just isnt the same anymore.
This happened in every sports so kind of impossible to compare individual abilities or drive. Players played completely different nba games.
People love Kobe because a “killer instinct” is more attainable to them than 6’8 240 with a 40 inch vert. Sadly, on the court nice guy buckets are worth just as much as psycho buckets.
Charles is generally on point but this is a boomer take for sure.
I’ve never seen people be romanticized so much specifically for being assholes lol
Is basketball the only sport where players gotta have this mindset of someone from seal team 6 going out there killing terrorists so they can be called greater than others? Not really familiar with other sports(outside of combat sports of course).
What a boring narrative. Why do basketball fans and media love to tear down players like this, and constantly try and compare? The discourse is hardly ever this toxic in baseball, football and hockey.
“You have to be an asshole to be a great basketball player”
Yeah well MJ and kobe also weren’t half the role models that players like Tim duncan, curry, or lebron were.
