Jerry Colangelo wants back into NBA ownership
Former Suns owner Jerry Colangelo is part of a group that says it has $8 billion already lined up to bring an expansion team to Vegas. Vinny Del Negro and Jay Williams also part of this…
Physically recoiled at seeing the name Colangelo
Maybe Silver will fire Presti for his years of tanking and let Colangelo be the GM there.
Wait hold on hear him out
It’s so wild it might just work.
I mean were currently watching Silver not do anything when it is warranted, maybe he’ll do something when it is unwarranted also!
It’s a normal sized collar, get a new slant
Bryan is a class act

Forget Zhaire Smith having a nut allergy, Markelle Fultz having a weird shoulder injury, Ben Simmons forgetting how to make a layup or even Joel Embiid being unable to stay consistently healthy and even having the bubble guts at inopportune times
The fact that Silver forced a GM as incompetent as Bryan Colangelo on your franchise has probably had the most devastating impact on your franchise which they are just now getting out of thanks to Bob Myers
Right, I feel like it doesn’t get talked about enough that we were just forced to have one of the worst GMs I’ve ever seen as punishment for tanking.
You’d be surprised how many people don’t know about it. I was talking to some Pacers fans about them getting a raw deal and a bunch said that the Sixers weren’t punished at all for the process. Pretty sure we were fined and lost draft picks as well.
The Sixers were fined for not disclosing a Jrue Holiday injury when they traded him to New Orleans. I dont think they were ever fined for tanking; that would have been a nice alternative to having the NBA implant a guy from Phoenix to hire his son specifically to destroy the team. And no that’s not an exaggeration, as his twitter burners exposed.
The Sixers were bad because the GM before Hinkie traded Iguodala, Vucevic, AND draft capital for Andrew Bynum. I have played as many games for the Sixers as Bynum has played.
Then Hinkie trades away Evan Turner and Jrue Holiday, which apparently was “tearing down the roster” which won 34 games the year before Hinkie arrived. The Knicks and Celtics complained because the Sixers finally had a competent front office, and the Knicks fan commissioner promptly shut it down.
I think the fine I’m thinking of came around the time Hinkie was ousted, but honestly it was so long ago I could be misremembering.
I agree tho, the Bynum trade killed the team, everything after was trying to pivot instead of committing to mid. I obviously wish we kept Jrue, but if we do who knows what picks we actually end up with
We don’t have the Maxey pick without trading Jrue. Hinkie was punished for patience. Meanwhile teams are benching their starters in the second half of games to lose individual games and the only penalty is a fine.
The NBA could’ve changed tanking incentives 11 years ago like they did this year, but that wasn’t their goal. Their goal was to punish Philadelphia.
True. I more so just imagine the defense if we had Ben, Joel, Jrue, RoCo, and Thyblle back in the day.
Worked out but man just imagine
Time to mess up the Las Vegas expansion process
As a Las Vegas hater, please god this would be so funny
I wish Las Vegas had 0 sports teams, but if they suck then it’ll just be funny
Why?
Would it? Who are you dunking on if that happens? Vegas has very little market on their own. The whole point of having a Vegas team is drawing fanbases from all over to go to games.
Even if the Vegas team sucks, you’re going to get fans who will travel to Vegas for a Vegas trip and catch their team okay while they are there. They don’t particularly care if the team is good or not.
I hate that my raiders had to move there 😞
Not even in the league yet and Denver can’t stop thinking about Vegas…avs in 4 right
He’s only 86 years old, why not?
86 you say, he should run for Congress instead
Vinny Del Negro
As long as he stays away from the Clips, I’m good
He got choked in Chicago so maybe not near John Paxson
Only took 15 min for the meme.
We truely have lost the art
Jerry Colangelo is like “hip” Jerry Reinsdorf, isn’t he?
Haven’t heard that name is years.
His offspring caused me so much terror…
Him too. Don’t forget after an “exhaustive search” he hand picked his son
Fuck him and his son. No, I won’t find a new slant.
He’s 86 years old. Maybe worry about staying alive and not funding an nba franchise that is years away from existing.
Prime age to become a politician maybe he can do that 🤔
Bryan needs a job?
Wow an ownership group bringing out the big names in Vinny and Jay Williams. How could anybody resist that
One of those guys even played in the NBA!
Nope. This is all Bryan Colangelo.
Jerry is old. This isn’t Jerry wanting back, this is Bryan trying to get back in behind his Dad.
Someone said the nba would have trouble getting 8 billion for a team. It’s looking like its going way past that amount
Why not just buy the Sixers and have his big collared son call the shots?
Having money doesn’t equate to being good owners
Find a new slant…
Does he plan on running the team via Skype?
Dudes a billion years old just fuck off and go gamble or something like a normal old person

The Jay Williams? He got dough?
The writers were on one when they come up with the Colangelo story, but now they want to bring him back? Seems kind of lame, no?
Ew
Take us back, Jerry.
Vinny’s back!

There’s zero way the NBA is going to donate a potentially $10B team to any individual ever.
I think that was the plan but seems to be off the table now. Maybe because the price tag has gotten too high?
Yea that’s the biggest thing Bron cannot afford a team alone he’s rich but he’s not THAT rich. There’s levels to it
He can just team up with a few billionaires and a middle eastern prince who are happy to cut a check. Get to own a NBA team AND see LeBron James a few times a year? Two for one for them.
I thought there was no path for bron to get a vegas team?
There isn’t. Most likely it will be all PR like how Jayz “owned” the Nets.
LV doesn’t need a team. I mean where are all these well off people from LV that are going to pay to attend all of these sporting events?
vegas metro area has twice as many people as oklahoma city.
OKC has the Thunder. Vegas already has NFL and NHL, and they say MLB is coming soon, and an NBA team would have to compete with all of those for ticket sales.
We live in the city. It’s not hard to understand. Sports tourism fills in the gaps.
He said with confidence, painfully unaware that Raiders and Golden Knights games had been occurring for quite some time.
