Never learned to shoot. Shoulda at worst been a 15-year 3&D guy but the 3 is sorta important in that role.

He made enough from his NBA contracts that if he’s not stupid with it he could just retire instead of needing to play overseas. I looked at his Instagram and he doesn’t post a lot but from what he has posted it seems like he’s just enjoying life, traveling and hanging out on boats.

Huge KU fan. At the time was more than a little biased, thought he was going to be awesome. Loved the fact he was a swish army knife defender attacker on a great KU team, could be top dog on offense or take a back seat.

Issues was he was really skinny, with a slight frame. Never put on more muscle. Couldn’t shoot (FT% nail in the coffin). Straight line driver, not much wiggle to his game. Good defender, but again really skinny and not long wingspan. Plus, he was a year older than a normal freshman and he measurered taller with the fro than he really was. 

Plus character issues. 

Sad he never found himself and became bench wing energy guy for contender. Still would have been a bust, but could have stuck around. 

I remember being hesitant about Josh Jackson when he was drafted… he had no jump shot… i dislike players with no jumper… so i watched a bunch of videos that hyped him up to talk myself into liking him… he’s on my favorite team, i want to believe they make good decisions… i wanted to like the guy… there were rumors that kyrie wanted to come to phx, and the cost would have been Josh Jackson… it was rejected because Josh’s potential was so high, he could have been better than kyrie… there were stories about how Boston wanted him, but the owner convinced Josh to cancel his workout with Boston, and he stood them up… i was hyped because we got a guy who REALLY wanted to be here… Boston went with Jason Tatum instead… I’m sad remembering these stories…

Josh was a pretty simple failure. He was useless off the ball and with the ball he was an ineffective chucker. So pretty useless overall.

Dude just wasn’t good enough to justify giving any minutes to. Had he at least been a decent dude and tried hard he might have stuck around for a while at the end of a bench but he was also an idiot off the court so now he’s unemployed.

He was certainly talented. He chose to take the bag with Self instead of hard work with izzo. Probably in south America balling with Cliff Alexander.
