Scheme is so important when evaluating a player, just cause he didn’t play PG at KU doesn’t mean he can’t play PG at the NBA level

I know it’s just summer league, and sometimes things might look one way in summer league and then another way during the season, but man this draft class looks good. Real good.

Cam Boozer looked good too. I wish Cedric Coward would have passed to him.

Also, these are Peterson’s first two real games since March. Boozer was very solid. If I am either Utah or Memphis, I am very encouraged by what I saw from my lottery picks.

It’s just one game (well now two) but I think it’s safe to say Darryn Peterson might be the greatest player in NBA history.

This guy isn’t a rookie. It’s more than meets the eye when evaluating summer league. Poise, comfort level, and repeatability is the key when evaluating players at this point.

Can’t see a world where DP isn’t able to get his game off in a regular season environment with even more offensive talent around him in Utah.

DP would’ve been #1 without the injuries and now that he’s healthy, it shows

I’ve been saying since pre-draft he is basically Ant had like the same college numbers but was on a worse team in a better conference and both had insanely low assist numbers and play great defense. Plus his shot is just as smooth, you can land on the moon with AJ, but Peterson just has a much clearer path to being an All-NBA type of guy.

Peterson looked great. Slots into the one spot Utah desperately needs too, which apart from Ryan is why I never understood the AJ smoke.

He has the best looking jumper in the class imo

Its surprising he played 28 minutes, because if you watched that game it sure felt like he was averaging over a point per minute.

Imsanely high usage rate, getting doubled and hedged constantly, yet still felt unstoppable.

DP was absolutely amazing and stole the show, but so was Boozer it’s just that he didn’t get the ball as much in large spurts of the game

Super surprised Memphis weren’t just running everything through Boozer. Summer league is kinda the perfect time to get him comfortable.

It was so hard to watch the Grizzlies mismanage/ice out Boozer whereas the Jazz let Peterson rock out as a scorer/playmaker.

I said it before and I’ll say it again. DP is the best prospect we’ve seen for a guard since Kobe.

Whether he reaches that who knows but god fucking almighty.

So he was the truth. His game looks pretty.

Young players should be watching these games and seriously considering whether playing for Self/Kansas is the ideal place to showcase your ability

Its very interesting because DP doesn’t play like a rookie,like with Wemby and Flagg you can notice many aspects of their game that are still green because of their age but DP play like a veteran.Obviously we have to see him play first in the NBA but just based on their summer league games.

This class is going to be crazy deep. A lot of dudes that can take over games.

I had a lot of concerns about Peterson and I was dead wrong. You can’t fluke your way into 12 assists. He was in complete control of the game and played at his own pace. Almost impossible to do in summer league with all the chaos. He looks like a day 1 all star.

His Dunk versus BYU on Feb 7th was absolute cinema.

I pay very little attention to college hoops or prospects. Was DP considered a better prospect than Dylan Harper coming up?

I watched him at KU a lot and 12 ast is wild! Glad to see he is improving on creating for others because that was the only minor knock I had with him. The bar is set high for AJ’s debut!

Finally got to watch this game after missing most of summer league so far, yeah DP is looking like he easily could’ve gone first overall. We’ll see if AJ shows out, if not the debate is going to start already
