[Highlight] Cameron Carr goes around his defender for the two-handed jam
Hey LeBron, we’re good bro. You can go. Cameron Carr is here.
Scoring will never be a problem for him
And hes got the wingspan and athleticism to be a great defender too. We’ll see how he develops
He quit on a good Tennessee team because he got benched for bad defense. Then he went to Baylor and still played defense. His upside is Zach Levine, not a two-way star.
Zach Lavine at his peak was fucking amazing.
Absolutely and im still convinced peak Zach was a top 5 scorer in the league. That said, despite his crazy elite scoring he never ended up contributing to winning basketball because he literally couldn’t contribute in any other way.
Luka helps because he immediately erases the notion of Carr having any right to demand ball handling duties though. The worry is that Carr, Luka, and Reeves are horrendous as a defensive trio and banking on Kessler making up for it is risky. I have also seen enough bad defenders with “the right tools” that i feel like its definitely not a given they will improve.
Some guys are bad on defense in college because their coaches asked them to take it easy on that end to reserve energy/avoid fouls. Idk if Carr is someone who that applies to though.
For sure. Carr can be a great offensive player
Ill take that for a 24th pick
his problem is he needs to put on weight, to be sure a 21 year old will never play defense makes no sense, maybe your right but you can also be completely wrong.
Knicks championship will always be tainted by giving this dude up for nothing just days later
Sure it will, buddy.
Bookmark it. See you in 5 years.
lol, a championship is never tainted, much less by swapping the 24th pick for the 25th. Even if Carr wins the MVP in 2033, the banner will still be there and still mean as much as it does today for the Knicks and their fans.
Lmfao get a fucking grip dude
See you in 5 years asshole
I seriously hope you’re not a Knicks fan, bc that would be insanely depressing. If you’re just a random hater I guess have fun lol
Unless he can play this year, it really doesn’t matter
!RemindMe 1 year
Probably the dumbest thing I’ve ever read
You think passing on a late first rounder that can’t even contribute in his first year is something that will “taint a championship” (whatever that means)
That’s way more dumb my guy
Some of ya’ll are legit cognitively challenged. 🙄
Other guards 6’4-6’6 with insane wingspan.
Kawhi, SGA, Jalen Williams, Dylan Harper, Devin Vassell, Mikal Bridges.
Even if he’s just Vassell, that’s a huge W for us.
Yeah, his highlights are all with his team down.
You’re talking about someone’s team being down in SUMMER LEAGUE? every day this subreddit reaches a new low.
Hot take basketball analysts have ruined NBA fans, no way you watch this game and this is your takeaway. Carr is basically the only guy on the floor for this Lakers team that isn’t absolute buns
Nah, it’s because this guy specifically is a salty vols fan that is mad about the way Carr left Tennessee. For good reason I guess, but Carr pretty clearly looks like the best guy on the floor by far.
Actually crazy good for a 24th pick. Cant wait to see what he does with Luka setting him up
he was consistently mocked to go around 13-18 in all the mock drafts
I don’t think where a player is mocked really matters after the draft. A mock draft is basically “this is how we think teams value him.” The real draft is how teams actually value a player.
I find it to be somewhat deeper than that.
Mock drafts are essentially about value and best player available from a pure value standpoint because they are constructed by neutrals The live draft is a confluence of ego, owner influence, out smarting yourself, trying to find the best piece for your puzzle, etc.
So because of that the players who seem like great picks fall.
No, you’re thinking of Draft Boards or BPA lists. Mock drafts are where people guess what teams will do (or say what they would do if they were the team). All the mock drafts put out by analysts are predictions though.
I can’t find them now, but a few analysts have looked at draft “fallers” and basically found that they are usually drafted where they should have been drafted. They don’t turn out to be great values.
This was an insane draft
His wingspan jumps out.
7’0 as a 6’4 guard.
Lakers must be absolutely ecstatic if his floor is Devin Vassell, Mikal Bridges.
Ceiling J-Dub.
Get your Cameron Carr stock now before it skyrockets
Can stock get higher than a Lakers rookie playing well at SL?
It is time to buy high and sell low
I remember how much hype their was for Knecht on here lol
Even espn was calling Knecht the steal of the draft on draft night.
Fair point, but recent example is Knecht who had a few huge games in the regular season as a rookie.
Gonna grab some carr rookie cards
I like him a lot

Why do the lakers have a middle aged dad on the team?
He drives the other players to the game
Takes them out for a Pizza Party afterwards too
Was really surprised the Hawks went with Zuby over Carr with #23. Not saying I don’t like the Zuby pick or anything he’s a very interesting player, but I was super high on Carr and really wanted to see him in Atlanta.
Where does he get minutes? Dyson and NAW take up basically all the minutes that might be available to a guy like Carr. Plus they kept Hield around.
Hield isn’t staying around most likely. His deal was guaranteed as part of a potential Kessler trade but Hawks got outbid by the Lakers. Hawks currently have 1 extra rostered player after Veesar signed a full 4 year deal instead of a 2 way.
As far as where the minutes come from? NAW had a great regular season for us, but he absolutely shit the bed against the Knicks in the playoffs. Dyson is a great player and I love him, but neither of those guys, and none of the other wing options the Hawks have are remotely good enough to warrant drafting for fit over BPA with the #23rd pick.
I think Zuby was probably higher on the Hawks big board for whatever reason still, but I absolutely would have taken Carr and let the fit figure itself out or trade someone (probably NAW) to generate positive assets.
You boys are in the drafting for fit stage in the rebuild
Makes me sick the lakers got such a steal late in the first round
After Hood-Schiff and Knecht, they deserve it!
A Leon rose give away
Damn man maybe he will be as good as all summer league first team legend Kevin Knox
We didn’t draft Cameron Carr you loaf. He was the Lakers pick.
Guess you didn’t see we gave them our pick
Do you really not understand how draft day trades work? The trade only happened because we agreed to take Carr for the Lakers. It only says we drafted him because the trades can’t be officially completed. Carr was chosen by the Lakers not us.
Are you doing sarcasm or parody or something? Bye
I’m getting sturdy
I wanted this guy after we traded back in, which we didn’t..
Yaxel looks amazing as well just be happy man lol.
Yaxel has looked, at least, just as good in this first few days of SL.
His 3pt shot making and athleticism is hella good. Reminds me of Malik Monk a little bit.
Reminds me of Derrick jones jr
did he actually stick to that diet before the dunk or was it just crowd energy
cameron carr used both hands to dunk it in
Oh my god the distance
Yo who are all these randos? Looking like Temu NBA. Where is LeBron?
