I feel like this has always hurt Lebron’s chances to have a good roster. The whole 1+1 contracts and now this waste the entire off-season to learn Lebron’s decision has to put GMs in a really tough spot due to the uncertainty it creates.

How can you go out and get good players that compliment Lebron on decent long-term contracts when you can’t get Lebron to commit long-term, or you have to wait a month for his decision?

Why does this man need so much attention?

No shot it’s happening later than a week from now. LeBron was in free agency until July 8th in 2010 and until the 11th in 2014.

Honestly I’m kind of disappointed. At this stage in his career, I would have hoped for a more mature and respectful process. Dragging this out, the white board silliness, the melodrama, it’s just kind of a bad look for a 42 year old who is still a quality player but is not the game changing player he used to be. I assume this is all for the eventual documentary. It feels kind of gross to be honest.

No you just make your moves and then if he joins he joins. You don’t pander to the old man. For five straight years his minutes per game and points per game have decreased. Advanced stats are holding up fine, he’s an asset. If in a GM I’m chugging along and if he tries to finalize a deal I can always trade away a piece to accommodate but I ain’t losing sleep over it. Now I’m a team owner I’d be losing sleep and crying to my basketball folks because I want to soak up sweet nectar of revenue from signing the king.
