LeBron James’ Year 23 Dunk Reel After Early-Season Sciatica
I was astounded at the number of dunks and then I saw that I was only halfway through…
think he’s had more dunks this season than any previous Laker season
Most players would accept this as their career dunk highlight reel, and Grandpa has this for his 23rd season alone.
Even the season prior once they added Luka and he debuted, it seemed like Lebron had an extra bounce in his step
Really? More than Shaq?
Any of his previous Lakers seasons they meant i believe.
Of course, he’s one of the greatest athletes we’ve seen but it’s crazy how he’s still this athletic. The work he’s put into maintaining his health is so impressive.
Him at his peak is still my go to “peak athlete” in my mind when I think purely in terms of how versatile his athleticism was
Like if I had to take someone for a specific activity obviously I’m taking specific body types for those, but if I had to take someone to “go through a series of physical hurdles I don’t know the specifics about” or something, it would be younger Bron
Yeah he’s probably the best pick. Shortlist including Wilt and Bo Jackson.
And anytime this gets brought up I give a shout-out to Jim Thorpe. Dude won a national title in ballroom dancing, scored every point for his underdog football team in a upset against the best football team in the country, AND won the Olympic decathlon in a landslide (including a 100m time which was as close to his era’s world record as Deion Sanders was to the late 80’s world record.
He may have played sports 100 years ago, but if we judge athletes within their context and give points for variety, he’s arguably the most accomplished athlete in US history.

This video does a good job acknowledging some of the apocrypha in his stories, alongside the stuff that we know for sure.
It’s Bo.
It depends, his height and weight would be a negative if it was something like rock climbing or horse racing where being shorter and lighter is a huge benefit
that’s true, but not knowing the challenges you’d have to go with the broader approach
on average being shorter or lighter would definitely help on a decent amount of sports, but Bron was a freak where he was a big dude who could do some of those activities while still having the advantages of being a big dude on the other possibilities where it’s helpful
Meh he’d be fine climbing rocks
For horse racing, he’d just throw the horse on his back and run the race himself
Any physical contact sport I think lebron would of been world class at if played from a young age rugby, boxing, muay thai, american football.
would have
Top 23 in total dunks for the season
He’s outrunning guys on fast breaks. It’s just fuckin absurd. So glad he didn’t retire this year. Keep going old man.
I read somewhere that the Lakers went from last in fast break/transition points to first the moment Lebron returned to the roster last season.
Like wtf
Love him or hate him, you cannot deny that he’s one of the most talented dudes you’ll ever watch play basketball in your lifetime.
I honestly don’t know how anyone could hate LeBron. He’s the chillest dude. He’s like the Obama of basketball players when it comes personality.
He’s been in the national spotlight since high school and the only controversy that comes to mind is the China stuff (if anybody says The Decision is a controversy then they’re not a serious person). He’s been the ideal role model for nearly 3 decades
Literally only Reddit cares about the China statement.
Steph signed a mega shoe deal with China and Reddit couldn’t even think of a good pun like LeMao smh
Obama, famous chill guy, let’s look at what he did in Libya or Yemen. Why are you comparing Lebron to a man who’s responsible for so much pain and suffering to many around the world.
He said personality not actions
Personality? Obama is a chill guy who lies and sells war crimes, and you compare him to Lebron just because he is a great basketball player who’s somewhat relatable. Obama’s persona is used to sell the action. He is not ordering specific bombings, Obama’s work is selling his war crimes to people like you who defend him and equate to him to a basketball player.
You’re not really understanding this are you
Hes kind of lame.
And the Taco Tuesday copyright thing shows hes very, very money hungry.
Otherwise yeah, basically no controversies
I don’t know. People who are money hungry don’t offer to take vet minimum.
Can’t argue lame if that’s how you see him. But he seems like someone I’d get a beer (and tacos) with. Ha.
If this is truly his last year, he’ll make way more money if he wins a championship on a vet min than he will by retiring on a max for a play in team
Hes making a documentary to help offset the loss of money.
He also probably makes more in advertisement and interest than even a max contract at this point.
That’s just business though. There’s nothing wrong with making investments or making money. If you do it from a place of unabashed self-interest, then yeah. That’s money hunger. That’s coming from a place lacking empathy. LeBron clearly is an empathetic guy. He’s not some billionaire bulldozing people’s homes.
He’s a team player. Willing to take a pay cut to try and work with a group of people to achieve a goal. If LeBron was money grubbing, he’d have just taken the highest pay check his entire career. He’d be doing that now. He’s never been that guy.
Hes always been on a max/near max.
You got way too deep though.
LeBron has not always been on a max and that’s an important distinction when you’re talking about greed. I work in business with guys who are cut fucking throat about deals. Ones who make more than LeBron James even. They wouldn’t take a penny less than max if they were in his shoes, and the really competitive ones — would want to see you get less than nothing while getting theirs.
LeBron ain’t that. The dude just wants to drink wine and play golf.
He tried to copyright Taco Tuesday lmao
Hes not a bad guy but I see his PR team has been successful
I like Lebron as a player. He is the chronological goat between 2000 and 2020 (I believe we get better players as time goes on). He is insane.
Out of the sport, I think the China thing was disgusting from a human perspective.
GOAT is All Time, though
Im a big fan. I’m 38 also had Sciatica… its hard to believe he did this without Steroids
*It’s hard to believe he did this with steroids
Do people hate him?
my boss says he’s racist and Larry Bird is the goat 😂
A lot of Kobe die-hards never accepted him as a Laker.
Haters are a good problem to have. Nobody hates the good ones; they hate the great ones. - Kobe
A 41 year old having a 4 minute long dunk reel is absurd
And only for PART of one season lol
Not just wide open dunks… dunks in traffic, runners through the lane, alley oops. He’s got the IQ of a 23 year vet with the athleticism of a 23 year old.
Man people have been spoiled with this - we won’t ever see these records broken
for all the nonsense ppl spew, they know theyll miss him. The NBA will not be the same when he’s gone.
As much as I don’t root for the Lakers, I wanted them to be relevant all these years. I just didn’t want Lebron wasting his last years.
You can definitely tell that he isn’t getting as high up as he used to, but seeing how fast he still is on the court, it’s probably more of a conscious choice rather than actual physical decline. Still more athletic than most of the league, which is bonkers
it almost looks like he’s putting more effort in alleys & two handers than 1 handers. like if he needs to he’ll put the extra bounce into it but if not its just an everyday dunk
Legit laughing out loud at the absurdity of this reel. Like does any player in their prime right now have as good of a dunk reel as this year?
Like 5 different variations of one handed alley oop finishes with the right and left hand. Reverse dunks, windmill. He’s taking off from teh dotted line like 5 different times. Facials, tomahawks. Like WTF he’s 41.
He really is the best lob catcher i’ve ever seen especially for a wing.
My Goat at 41
Man, I can’t believe we’re not gonna see any more Luka to Bron and AR to Bron lobs 🥲
Especially from Austin. Damn. 🥀
Nah, they can ring chase with LeBron before they retire.
if a 41 year old LeBron joined the Charlotte Hornets right now, he might be the most athletic guy on the entire roster. He’ll feel so young during training camp
This is my pitch to LeBron James
I think he is tired of being the most athletic. That’s a bad sign at his age lol
Tough edit.
Age 60 lebron might be able to do half of these dunks.
I want Austin alley oop bloopers
A couple of them are here and Bron finished anyway lol
One of them I vaguely remember LeBron saying he would have to sit out the next game for going high to get it .
I love watching him being on the receiving end of a pass before he slams it. Thats part of what made him and Wade duo so exciting right. What if he played with CP3? I think they would’ve been sick together
Stockton-Malone but both of them can pass as well (at least) as Stockton.
Him and harden would be sick, hardens one of the best lob throwers ever, better than cp3 imo
Meanwhile, my back hurts just watching the old man throw it down. His future statue needs to be him doing his signature cock-back slam.
That Kornet poster always gives me goosebumps. Jfc.
Best athlete the NBA has ever and is going to see. He was so disgustingly athletic, powerful, explosive & fast during his youth that even during old age he’s still extremely athletic. At one point in his career he maxed out at almost 280 lbs. Upper and lower body strength. He lifted like a football player in his prime and it showed.
This guy is good huh
I love when he dunks with two hands like a big man. Something about hanging on the rim never gets old.
I chose the right player to be my favorite player.
Christ, this is his age-41 season too. What the fuck, man? I bet you he’s gonna yam on folks as a part time player at 50 too.
Love seeing his 2 handed dunks, early bron looked so effortless and light but he’s like 260 or whatever
I don’t think people who are at least as old as LeBron is can really understand how mind blowing it is that he’s able to do what’s in this highlight reel at his age. As someone a little older than him, this is more impressive than anything else anyone is doing in the league. It’s just jaw dropping.
41 yrs old and led the league in fast break points btw
GOAT
gray hairs but no rim grazers 🔥
Man gonna miss bron as a laker i just hope he dont go to the celtics or spurs or a western team really so i can root for a lakers vs bron final
Bro be mogging all the current superstars on a basketball level
I’ve injured my sciatica just watching this.
Goat physical specimen
A team is gonna get this guy on the vet minimum this year btw
You can tell he enjoyed playing with Luka and Austin
Wherever LeBron goes next, I need someone on that team to throw lobs recklessly like Austin would
Just had my break at work and watched this to Jumpman by Future and Drake. Goes hard af
Agitating my sciatica IM TOO OLD FOR THIS
My goat
When my sciatica flares up I’m walking like a 90 year old grandpa. That shit hurts and takes constant stretching and maintenance to keep at bay. That’s what makes him hanging around so impressive, dude owns every record, has won every award but still is out there for the love of the game.
Bro has the best landing from dunks I’ve ever seen. No wonder he’s rarely injured along with a bit of luck
Miss him already. Next season won’t be as explosive
This man could play another 5 years if he wanted to
Imagine being 41 and having your mid 20s team mates keep throwing you lobs lmao
Court presence is just different
Imagjne GSW getting this and folks saying they are too old. Nah…
That’s how you play when you believe AR snd Luka might come back.
Harden still gets doubled at half court, imagine lebron with all that space rolling into a 4v3 with tons of space, gotta come to Cleveland
I really need a supercut of AR cheesin’ every time he realizes he’s about to get to throw a lob to goddamn LeBron James.
Or maybe the opposite - could be a few shots of him looking terrified for a second that he maybe kinda forgot that it wasn’t 2015 LeBron and threw’em a teeny tiny bit higher than necessary.
We’re all witnesses
And there was a thread in the sports sub mad that lebron got named athlete of the century and that Simone the gymnastics was a better athlete than lebron 🤦♂️🤣🤣 bro is doing this at 40. Hes the closest thing we have to captain america athletic-ly
The best ones are AR forgetting he’s 41 and thinking he’s playing with Miami Bron and just tossing it up to absurd places.
If you told me he was 33, I would believe it.
Foul, no double foul! People can’t be just flying in the air like that.
Jfc, for many of these dunks, he’s jumping from the free throw circle hash marks.
He looks so old and slow compared to even 5 years ago and he’s still a top 20 player in the league lol. He’s actually an alien.
It’s a been a joy to watch Bron’s career. The greatest athlete I’ve ever seen. I hope he gets a chance at one more championship before he decides to retire.
Unc and I got the same back problem but he out here overly dunking
These ain’t “Dunking just to show you I can still dunk” dunks either.
Fast breaks all of them, impressive but hes not getting back on defense
Holy PEDs Batman
all that athleticism just to have the dunk package of a rim grazer. He had a legendary career but you’re delusional to think he would ever get out of the first round of a dunk contest
He’s 41
PED Bron
