Not to be devils advocate but if a midsize company with 100 people can easily deactivate employee access for IP, then would it be too far out of reach for a multi-billion dollar company/org to deactivate players access that are no longer with the team?
Seriously. Do people think somebody has to go around and reprogram every keypad or something? Some security manager opens an application, finds the profile, hits delete. Most even let you schedule deactivation in advance. It can be done in a matter of minutes.
I work for a multi-billion dollar company. It takes a while for some personnel changes to be made as access is granted to different systems and possible supervisor adjustments. I’ve seen it take over a week to get someone into a new application that is necessary for the job.
But, I’ve also seen someone fired and they lost access within like 30 seconds lol
It would probably come down to prioritization. In this case, trades happen a lot so it probably is easy and quick.

Agree, basically all companies with electronic access have a simple instant process to deactivate access to physical locations. They need it both to cover for stolen access credentials and to exclude problem employees/ex-employees.
Also the Celtics are known to be very open about facility access. All former Celtics are welcome to use the facility anytime, and Joe made an effort to invite formal Celtics to join in on practices or a visit whenever they want.

It’s not about stingy. Retired players are different than current players. I’m not saying they revoked his access the second he was traded but I also don’t think they’d be ok with him roaming freely unaccompanied around the facilities after a few days. It’s different if he’s there to see Joe or workout with another player.
It’s possible the Cs are ok with it I guess but it wouldn’t be “stingy” for a franchise to not be ok with that.
