Game plan was to run a high screen and roll with the opposing Center to get AD out of the paint, and sometimes attack AD on the dribble. While AD had held his own on the perimeter, they had no help down low. Because they had LeBron/someone else as the last line of defense at the rim. While it worked at times, it wasn’t consistent.

AD played his best when he had Javale, Dwight & Markeiff there to help. Lakers schemed based on their opponent. He ran the 5 exclusively against the small-ball Rockets, and against the Heat. Whether he played the 4 or 5 didn’t really matter. It’s about the help he had from whoever was at the 4 or 5 with him.

Yeah even when he was in Dallas. Despite having Gafford and Lively, they were better when he played at the 5.

LeBron also had to guard the 4 because he’s not quick enough to guard or chase around smaller players anymore which basically mean AD had to match up mainly with a center when LeBron was on the court anyways.

That’s why the blame game was very tiring. They must knew that even if were to sign a center he’s not going to be starting along AD & LeBron but to rotate with them.
