He’s in his mid 30s, if he is willing to play the 6th man role he could give a diversified attack for them. Same with clippers. At that role he’s an asset to any team really being able to create tough shots

You wouldn’t want DeRozan as a bench scorer? Crazy. 

He would fit in great. We need a cool old head who can calm things down on the floor.

I think the Lakers… There’s probably still some bitterness towards the Raptors org. And having Kawhi back, it might be extra salt on the wounds…

Plus, if we have him it’s only going to be for a bench spot. His ball dominant play style kills our ball movement. And he’s the antithesis of Raps defense culture now.

I think so too he can still ball and he would be a good fit with Cade and Ausar.

Notable playoff riser DeMar DeRozan will fix that - they definitely need a guy who can drop 20 (on 25 shots)

I’ve always liked demar the human, and he’s a fun basketball player to watch. But if you’re trying to put together a championship team… nah.

The difference between his raptors days and spurs days as a facilitator was huge

He was basically their point guard for a while and small/power forward on defense

He was a sick passer on the Spurs

He averaged 7 assists and 2 turnovers in his last year with us

IDK anything about basketball fit because I follow the NBA for the athletic male reality TV show drama, but I think it would be really funny if DeMar came back to the Raptors with Kawhi and won a championship and somehow Diar DeRozan was involved in making it happen. 

Yes. I could imagine Pistons but also include other good defensive teams like the Knicks, Thunder, Spurs, Cavs, Celtics and Raptors.

Elite scorer off the bench, excellent passer and good team defender. If Kelson Johnson can win 6MOY, DeMar is a lock.

Elite rim protector becomes less of a pain point when we can field three of the league’s best wing defenders also when we can outscore the opponent on offense by relentlessly attacking.

I like to think Drake is the only thing keeping LeBron out of Toronto too.

Looks like they made up, but it does sound like Bobby was the real architect of that Kawhi/DeMar trade so wonder if they ever hashed things out too. Would love him off the bench for this run. Could also be hella awkward with Kawhi, I don’t know, lol. I just want him back incase a 2nd ring is possible. Always envisioned (hoped) him/Kyle doing it together here.

We’re now seeing the benefits of modern sport science for the guys who stayed professional and disciplined enough to keep using it. It’s not a shock that besides LeBron and Steph it’s guys like Conley, DeRozan, Horford who’ve kept playing and playing. All model pros who look after themselves.

As he should. He grew in me fast. His ISO game doesn’t always translate well or fit, but his ability to get 2 points is special. He could be incredibly valuable on someone’s bench for years to come.

Thank you, yes, I’m aware that Demar was involved in the exchange that brought Kawhi to Toronto.

But in an ideal world, Demar would have been on the championship team after giving so much in Toronto, and having the joy of winning (alongside his good buddy Lowry) would have been very nice to see.
