I think that Vooch trade isn’t brought up for reasons why Celtics sputtered in postseason. Celtics probably win that series against Philly if Anfernee Simons (or Jrue Holiday) are there instead of Vucci Mane. Granted, they still probably wouldn’t have won more than a game or two against the Knicks but repeating ‘25’s performance (minus the catastrophic injury) is a lot better than blowing a 3-1 series lead in first round!

I really wish I had gotten to see Simons play with both Js. It’s not out of the realm of possibilities for next season but if we’re buying what the NBA media is selling, seems pretty unlikely!

I don’t see how the Knicks winning is humiliating for the Celtics, they built a good team and then won. I don’t think it’s humiliating to not win a trade bid war (plenty of teams lose them every offseason).

The JB stuff is the only thing that’s really gone sideways for us but it’s not humiliating that they are gauging his trade value to try to get ahead of him fully wanting out. If nobody wants to trade for him they just keep him… they have 3 years left on his contract.

With the trade stuff, it’s better not to over pay, and there’s been so many conflicting reports around everything that it all just seemed like smoke and mirrors to drive up the asking price for Miami. After the Giannis trade, I wouldn’t be shocked if Brad did seek out what the trade value for Brown would be (as any good GM would do), but was shocked/insulted at the return. We would never trade a top 10 player for fucking Jeremy grant/scoot Henderson straight up. That is asinine. 29 other teams would love Brown on their team but don’t want to give up the capital.

The JB thing I just disagree on it being humiliating. The Celtics have balanced the two All-NBA level star thing for almost 10 years now. These things really don’t end up everyone riding off into the sunset. Things are starting to sour because JB got a taste of being the true 1 and liked it. Just because they are looking to trade him to maximize value before his contract is a rental doesn’t make it embarrassing. It’s just how the NBA works now with stars.

It’s incredible how a man of his size can suck so bad at defense. He just doesn’t try, at all. You’re 6’10 and probably close to 300 pounds - just put your damn body against Embiid and make him work. Even if he beats you it wears him down. But no, instead he just steps aside and lets him freely score.
