I’d argue that going to Cleveland would be considered a championship contender.

I mean the idea is Steph, Draymond, AD and LeBron. Jimmy Butler gets traded to Sacramento for AD.

Which if healthy is a solid 50 win team or like… 5th in the west let’s say. (OKC, SAS, LAL, DEN).

And then in playoffs, everything can happen.

Steph is still top 10 player in the league. Healthy AD is probably top 15-20. LeBron is probably top 25.

Bench is actually pretty decent.

Out of all the options, this one has the best storyline, hype and actually has some remote chances of making a miracle run.

Remaining healthy is the biggest, planet sized ‘IF’ thoguh.

They are far from favorites or even realistic contenders, but I would seriously consider them a dark horse candidate if things align for them.

You might be right, but thus far the Lakers off-season moves haven’t inspired confidence that they actually have any kind of post-Lebron plan. They have many glaring holes, and a lot of their key depth from last year is getting scooped up by other teams. I would have thought trying to keep Kennard and Smart at the least would have been important, to continue developing chemistry, while they shop around for a C. I’m just not sure what they’re doing other than floundering at this point.
