I think the asterisk debate is so stupid. If it was so easy, why didn’t more teams just win the ‘ship? Because it’s zero sum, it can’t be easier or harder because at the end of the day you compete against the other teams, not the environment that you play in.

The Lakers won, because they beat everyone else, the exact same fucking criteria for a championship every year.

I recall some crazy out of bounds saves from the fact that there were no fans to knock into, I think they could put more gas into running after things because they knew they wouldn’t bowl over the courtside fans and stuff.

Bad luck mixed with bad roster management imo. The nets forming that big 3 made Lebron and the Lakers think they needed to from their own and go get another superstar which turned into Russ. Just for the Nets to not even win anything and the Lakers completely fumbling a championship roster they had. But I’d still easily say these 8 years have been successful. Since 2020 we haven’t seen a single team get back to the finals after making it there. It’s a lot harder now for teams to sustain finals runs like back in the 2010s.

23 years in the league and he has only been on 3 teams. Considering he spent a quarter of his 23, soon to be 24 years on the Lakers, that label should no longer apply to him. Through thick and thin he stayed when he could have left multiple times. He took more shit from your fanbase than any other team he’s been at.

He could have been called a merc 12 years ago when he went left Miami to head for greener pastures. He shouldn’t be called that now. Especially if he goes to the fucking retirement home Warriors which would obviously be the for-fun move when he could just be a positive addition to any real contending roster in the league.

You got a bunch of players who hop teams frequently that deserves that label. Lebron ain’t one of them (anymore).
