Are we ready for KD to spin LeBron joining GSW to be “the same thing”
I mean if the LeBron to GSW thing happens, I can for sure see him doing this especially after his recent statements
We haven’t had a KD thread for a while, was getting worried
Easy money sniper
Easy whiny sniper
Hardest Road Whiner
dudes really inventing reasons to be mad at KD in their own heads
But that sweet free karma
KD been inventing all those reasons on his own
Plenty of reasons to hate him outside of made up ones.
Nature is healing. Every offseason needs at least one KD ruined basketball support group thread.
Even better, this one is grousing about something that he hasn’t actually done. They’re upset over something they made up in their own head
Yeah right, cos KD doesn’t have a two decade long track record of this exact kind of insecurity and pettiness.
Then why not get mad at something real he’s actually done rather than making something up and getting mad at the thing you made up?
There’s a non zero chance we’ve seen a controversial KD thread created by KD
Maybe if AD trade falls through they can just di a KD trade instead
Nah he’ll join them gng
I hope so. Should be no complaints. They all old as fuck
Would be fun to watch and they wouldn’t even be title favorites so it’s not like it would “ruin” the season. It would just be fun as hell watching the old heads play together.
That’s it, the league needs to abolish UTAH and replace it with a 35+ Year Olds Only Salary Cap Unrestricted team for UNCS
I’d watch that shit
That’s basically why the NFL keeps the Arizona Cardinals around. Every league needs a retirement home
Uncs That Are Halloffamers
Too bad Jordan is too old to join.
(I’m just saying this hoping he sees it and takes it personally)
It’ll be like Messi right now. Standing around the whole game except for 7 times when he goes balls out
I’m here for it, I’d like to think the hoops will be immaculate.
I feel like they would definitely still be title favourites lol that’s a ridiculous team. Only issue would be health
Maybe if they made it to the Finals (or playoffs) healthy, they might be considered favorites.
But at the beginning of the year? I’d really doubt it.
Golden State Retirement Home
No complaints? Yeah right pal
Minimally, there will be tweets…
Can Ky come too and do that “dribble thru the whole team” thing?
Man dribbles twice and teleports to the rim.
Yes, please
“The Hardest Road” vs “The Geriatric Road”
As a Cavs fan I hated it for obvious reasons but the fact that GS was stacked wasn’t even the issue for me. They 1000% should’ve pursued him. But any all time great joining a team who JUST BEAT YOU runs counter to everything we believe about competitors. Imagine in their prime Kobe to the Suns, Bron to the Celtics, Jordan to the Pistons, etc. I’d hate all of the moves just the same. He’ll be remembered positively but this will never go away and I think the fact that we’re still talking about it speaks to that
Imagine in their prime Kobe to the Suns
The year is 2008. The Boston Celtics have just beat the Lakers in the Finals. Kobe commits the ultimate betrayal and requests a trade to the Boston Celtics and unravels the entire universe.
This is the point no one brings up. Anyone with that talent GS had, with a one in a lifetime cap spike (everyone was getting paid that year lol), and can get KD should do it.
The reason the majority of us hated it was cause you just choked a 3-1 lead to these dudes then turned and joined them. Not to mention it seemed like KD basically went MIA after getting up 3-1.
You know how bad it would’ve killed me to see Bron join Boston after constantly losing to them?Even teaming up with Bosh and Wade, he didn’t join the guys he lost to.
Between the Nets, Suns, and now Rockets I don’t think he’ll be viewed fondly. Coach killer, vibe killer, hardest road, fake account having player. Carmelo is his closest comparison but Melo gets hated more because he “ran off” a role player who had 10 good games before getting injured.
I think it was more that he wasn’t actually invested in winning basketball games
He did well on the Nets, it was Kyrie who screwed up. Suns were screwed by Beal and Rockets have yet to be decreed.
Nets screwed themselves
Net screwed Net.
He just averaged 26 points a game on a nearly 50/40/90 split at 37, the only reason people don’t talk about how good he is is because he has ruined his good will constantly for the past decade.
If everywhere you go smells like shit you should check your shoes right?
I don’t talk to juvenile arguers.
when the Thunder lost to the Mavs and then the Spurs, each time threads were packed with “imagine if SGA just joined them now lol”
Let’s add that they not only beat you, but you lost a 3-1 lead. You’re the superstar of the team. It’s on you to close it out, but nah, after losing you decided to join them lmao
“The Viagra Road”
Hardest road gonna be them getting out of the bed every morning
Hardest Road vs The Somewhat Flaccid Road
The oldest road
The King’s Highway is in Jordan
My God, the Lebron-MJ connections never end
This will be the Dwight and Nash SI cover all over again. 🤣 I also accidentally watched Boogie Cousins documentary about joining the Warriors after nobody wanted his ass. I bet Bron ends the movie in a Lakers jersey
The KD hate here is fucking crazy.
What is to like about the guy, honestly
there’s some to like, his game is fun to watch. and he doesn’t seem like a terrible guy morally. I just think he lacks integrity when it comes to some decisions
“If they need drones!! We got ya”
He invests in a company that makes drones for the i country and said “they need drones, we got ya”. Pretty scumbag guy if you ask me
Context:
He initially invested in skydio when they were a consumer focused selfie drone company for their series b, and invested more in them in their series d at a time when they were selling drones for us government surveillance. Generally it’s not easy for venture capital to pull their money out from a company, and often there’s contractual restrictions for selling equity in secondary markets which could end up rescinding any sales and any other potential consequences for violating the contract. I’m skeptical whether he would sell his equity now anyways since it seems to have been a very successful investment, but if he wanted to it might not even be possible.
And the comment is from screenshots of twitter DMs which seemed to be plausible but obviously were never confirmed
Doesnt both Steph and LeBron also invest in Israeli defense budget
Okay and their scumbags too, I don’t understand why yall have such parasocial relationships with these players
I don’t. They are all scumbags. My problem is I only see this smoke for KD when two of his other contemporaries get away damn near scot free. Either it all matters or none of it matters.
I was commenting on a post about KD.
Lacking integrity when it comes to decisions is an indicator of bad morality…
well not necessarily, I haven’t seem him intentionally harm or hurt other people. I’ve just seen him hold back his own potential as a human
He funded drones for a genocide. I cant think of a more efficient way to harm or hurt other people.
There’s more to morality than just not outright intentionally harming someone.
We’re talking about a guy who does nothing but bitches and inflates his own importance at the expense of others, more often than not behind their back. I’m not saying he’s a murderer or anything, but those are moral considerations as well and he’s consistently failed at them over a ~20 year career, and has never once shown an interest in self-reflection or actual growth.
Neither of you two know what he’s like..
Y’all so far removed from celebrities none of us know these people lol. Dumb argument
I know what he’s said, and I’m judging him on that. Are you telling me I can’t evaluate politician’s morality because I don’t know them personally, as well?
Dumb argument
Comparing an NBA player to a politician is just as stupid as acting like you know the morality of an NBA player lmao. Not even remotely the same because politicians are directly stating their opinions on moral conflicts within our society.
You’re comparing that to Kevin Durant joining the Warriors lol
His game was fun to watch 10 years ago
These people thought he was cold when they were 15, made that a core piece of their identity and so they will defend him to the death online until the day they die
His shoes were pretty cool a decade ago
Crazy but warranted
But deserved
Nah it’s deserved, we reap what we sow.
One might say people refuse to getoffhisdickerson
if anything he deserves more hate
It was literally a decade ago lmao these dudes are WEIRD
take the team flair off while you’re writing diary entries bro
Probably the dumbest post I have ever seen. You are fantasizing about how another player feels about something that has not even happened yet so you can hate on the person. Are you dumb?
I want KD to join them too! Olden State will reign forever! Well until about 4, early bird special and then it’s bed time.
I would watch the hell out of that team, except most games will just be the bench because the uncs are out on injury.
It’s not the same because Golden State still has no chance of winning
Nuance moment
Who gives a fuck bro
We already went through this when he was at Miami…. Fill out a job application or something dude, you’re bored as hell talking about this at like 8 in the morning…
You do realize not everybody on earth lives in the same time zone right? Why are you on Reddit that early if other people posting at that time bothers you?
The timezone wasn’t the important bit, missed the point.
Ah yes, the entire planet earth consists of just my country/state mentality. Get off Reddit at 8 in the morning if it bothers you so much my guy…
You missed the point too.
And yet here you are, commenting on it lmao
I mean you’re on here also posting at 8 AM lol
you’re bored as hell talking about this at like 8 in the morning.
Wait do you think the entire earth is the same time as where you currently are?
I do think this was a dumb ass question but why do you gotta go straight to “get a job” lol
the irony of some dude who’s been posting on reddit for the past 12 hours straight talking about getting a job, especially since you’re probably deadass working your gas station graveyard shift at most if you’re not a nephew on his school summer break LMAO
It was a graveyard shift, but not at a gas station. Imagine criticizing someone for making money 😂
[deleted]
Nah it’s 6:34. Only my time zone exists.
Fuck it let KD join as well!
The Old & Late Warriors
You all care too much about narratives. You’re like school girls gossiping
“KD joining the most winning team of all time is a bitch move” isn’t a narrative, it’s a fact.
Nobody cares
Besides the hundreds of people interacting with the post? Sure maybe
No one takes anything KD says seriously after he wrote, “The Hardest Road”.
He’s firing up twitter as we speak
He won’t do it but a burner account will
I’m done with this sport
Yall are obsessed with kd jfc
>>Are we ready for KD to spin LeBron joining GSW to be “the same thing”
No but I’m ready for getoffmydickerson to have some words about it.
Nah, KD will spin this like it’s worse.
“When I did it, Warriors had sucked for 50 years and no one wanted to play for them. When LeBron does it, he joins an established team that is a perennial contender that everyone wants to play for. What I did was actually much harder.”
KD out here trying to spin narratives like he has the reality infinity stone.
Who cares what KD thinks lol
I already have some dumb friends trying to say it is the same thing… I can’t take it anymore.
It’s completely different when everyone is well past their peak. I assume KD won’t talk shit but that’s his right as a shit-talker.
Red-Hot Warriors vs Icy-Hot Warriors :)
you know getoffmydickerson has his twitter draft post ready
Get off his dickerson
Nope no way
Nah I don’t think it’s exactly comparable. If he does end up going there I look at it as him having fun for what would likely be his last year in the NBA
We already see his dckriders twisting this narrative lol
Who cares
How is Bron joining Miami not the defining factor in all of these Star players choosing to leave?
Golden Years Warriors
After his previous comment about Golden State not having a winning culture until he got there you either take his delusions seriously or you dont. He is not gonna convince anyone new with this argument.
Time to grow up, sport.
Maybe the Warriors deserve another ring just to spite this whole sub.
the difference is kd joined a 73-win team that just made the finals and beat him in the wcf. lebron would be joining a play-in team that missed the playoffs. those contexts arent the same at all no matter how kd tries to spin it
The hardest road, whatevuh happened there
WHATEVER HAPPENED THERE? WHATEVER HAPPENED THERE?
THIS LEBRON GUY JOINED A SUPERTEAM OF 40 YEAR OLDS WITH NO PROVOCATION WHATSOEVER.
What happened to the GSW of old, the underdog type?
Alright but you gotta get over it
Not the same thing, KD gave warriors a chance for three peats
Can only be the same if Dre little boys Bron like he did KD which just won’t happen.
If KD wants to join the Warriors again he’s welcome to take a vet minimum I guess.
This is far from KD’s saga. This is instead more like when Malone/Gary joined the Lakers to join Kobe/Shaq. Same shit.
Who gives a fuck what KD thinks at a time like this?
Can Kd also join them on a min?
And why would KD do that? His shit was 10 years ago and no way is Bronny Sr chasing a ring with Curry at this point. KD’s dumb, but y’all are dumber for creating this fantasy. Big yikes.
Curry will have now played with all his biggest rivals, but people will definitely spin that
Pretty sure KD cares more about Scarlett’s bath water.
It’s not. Far from it. But knowing him he’ll probably try.
No because GS won’t win anything with LBJ
Do we care if he does?
Because an aging star joining a playin team is clearly the same as a superstar in his prime joining a team that just went 73-9. lol…
Are we ready for redditors to say it’s different?
KD is an insecure man child who made alt accounts to bitch about his team mates, then joined a team that he has a 3-1 lead on but choked and couldn’t end the series. If he does anything to compare the situations that should be shoved in his face.
no one is saying this
LeBron and Steph teaming up at 41 and 37 is not the same or even close to Durant and Curry teaming up at 28 and 28. But people will definitely run with it.
are we ready to jump to conclusions before the conclusions conclude
Whether he’d be right or not, who cares about what KD says after Dickerson
KD wouldn’t say that directly but his fans have already started doing it idek how it would be even remotely the same but they need validation
Benedict Wigglestein Uno Jr. (Father) level take but i never understood how KD to GSW was not the same as LeBron going to Miami.
This delusion ain’t happening. Curry can’t stay healthy a full season, warriors would have to trade Butler or a bunch for AD. You making the NBA version of the “Expandables” over there? Against elite, athletic defense first stacked teams? This narrative is nothing but a narrative. LBJ would goto a team where he adds value as the missing piece to put them over the top for a team in its prime era. Not a team filled with 32+ yr olds 🤦🏻♂️ Can we stop with this nonsense already.
Wild Hogs
won’t happen cause LBJ too old at this point and if KD does, it won’t matter
The Spurs will still sweep them though. And lose again in the finals.
There are already a bunch of these posts already .. people are dumb as fuck.
it’s the same thing thou
He’s gonna cope but he’s gonna be wrong. KD joined a GSW that won without him and beat him when he was up 3-1 against them.
Lebron is joining GSW who didn’t even make the playoffs last season
Um huh? This doesn’t make sense but also fuck KD.
“Man Invents Fictional Scenario And Then Gets Angry About It”
You Bronsexualz are funny.
Lebron already did the same thing:
Lebron did not win his first chip and needed to run to someone who already lead a team and won to teach him how to win (Dwyane Wade)
KD did not win his first chip and needed to run to someone who already lead a team and won to teach him how to win (Steph Curry)
Stop trying to cape for Bron when there’s already more than enough proof a player in the same era is far better.
Bron joining Curry only further Solidifies Curry as the greatest player ever.
LeBron will stay on the lakers homie
LeBron already has 3 rings with 3 franchises when he’s doing this. I’ll let you do the math on how many KD had when he made the switch.
…And how many did he have before Miami?
…So you can spin that time if you wanted, but LBJ joining GSW now is from a different position.
lebron dickriders are crazy
Yup and it will be nasty work. 😂KD didn’t technically do shit wrong, he just kept/keeps making excuses for his decision instead of standing on it. Plus, a lot of ppl would have let that shit go if he was able to get a title on any of his other three teams since then.
Will KD ever admit that he’s just a role player and not a leader? He is a phenomenally good role player but LeBron is a leader and has been for decades.
Bron has been excused for making super teams and questionable decisions his entire career
Superteam at 42 damn he is the greatest
Not being brought up enough.
If he is considered part of any big 3 or big 4 at 42yrs old he’s the GOAT.
What other player would raise hackles forming a “super team” at his age. None if people are being honest.
Also at 26 and 30
The 14-15 Cavs being called a superteam was and still is debatable.
Well yes I’m not going to lambast MJ or Kareem or magic or Kobe for being on super teams when they were in their prime they’re just that good. Plus I always have a hard time calling that second cavs team a super team Love and Kyrie were stars but they weren’t wining players in any capacity not even one winning season between the pair of em before they joined Bron.
And they begin lol
Wasn’t he the villain of the league after The Decision?
Yes. Big time. Lol
My problem with the decision was the televised nonesense. I don’t like superstars gathering instead of competing against each other either but I always felt like doing it on tv was just corny
Espn paid him a lot of money to declare his team on live tv though lol.
Bron stans will still try to argue that was somehow different from what KD did lol
I’m not a Bron stan, but I will. At the time it seemed stacked, but in hindsight The Miami team was not really what we thought it was going to be. The way I see it, Bosh was good, but his value was largely overstated during his time in Toronto and Wade was an equalizer for the rest of the league. Until then, Bron best teammate was Mo Williams. The Heat were very top heavy and didn’t really have anything to ride home about when Miami was formed. Look at the roster.
KD had Russ, a very solid supporting cast, and very competent front office. He had a 73-9 Warriors team on the ropes, blew it, joined them and proceeded to torch the league. Year 1, they went 16-1 in the playoffs. Year 2, outside of the Houston series, torched the playoffs again. year 3, on their way to a 3-peat until KD tore his achilles.
So if the Heat had been better it would have been the same, using your logic. You are quite literally admitting that the intent was the same.
No, I’m saying the rosters and situation in their entirety were not comparable. Warriors were already a champion squad that just captured the greatest regular season, and KD joined that after failing to close the door them.
LeBron joined Wade who was struggling was injuries and the Heat as an organization was dormant for the 4 years after winning in 2006. Bosh won a total of 3 playoffs games in 7 years as a Raptor, and one could argue his stat lines were inflated because he was playing with nobody. Outside of that, they had literally nobody.
Maybe I should fix my wording, but I think the hype of the Miami team was built by the media and spectacle of “The Decision.” There was not really much substance there to begin with as we thought.
No, I’m saying the rosters and situation in their entirety were not comparable.
So why even bring up that the Heat didn’t end up as good as expected?
If, hypothetically, the KD Warriors had suffered devastating injuries which meant they didn’t win anything, would it have made everything okay? Did the criticism of KD only begin once they won a title? Of course not.
It started immediately because what people were really upset about was the intent. The intent to basically join a super team and win an easy ring. And Lebron had that exact same intent, except he had to form his own superteam.
The exact same shit people said about KD jumping ship was said about Lebron. And no amount of Lebron stans getting upset is going to change the fact that their idol did the same shit.
I mean, if you want to get stuck on what the intention was, sure I’ll concede that. I’m just speaking on what transpired. But if you want to bring the context of the decision into the equation, bring all of it.
LeBron took matters into his own hands after being failed by an organization year after year and the landscape of the league was getting more competitive. What was he supposed to do? Wait some more? Join a team that was perceived good, but not good enough?
The Thunder team KD was literally on, had the champs dead to rights and he ended up joining them.
See, that’s the thing - I don’t think any of that is too relevant. Both guys joined the best landing spots they could, and both joined upgrades over their previous situations. Which is why I say they did the same thing.
What you are actually arguing here is degrees. And I’d even argue the opposite there - Lebron’s move was worse because he created a superteam whereas KD just joined one. And that’s leaving aside the two other times Bron jumped ship to team up with stars (and to escape declining cores). But I’m well aware that that is controversial, and I’m not gonna dwell on that: the main point is that we can argue degrees, but what they did is similar. And if people are going to shit on one move they can’t turn around and try to justify the other. Excuse both or shit on both, simple as.
Me, I think both moves were fine. These were dudes jumping shit for better teams and conditions. Miami and SF are frankly more desirable places to live than Cleveland and OKC, and it tends to get lost in this discussion that these are people who have lives outside basketball and shit.
I could go on about this, but yeah, all I want is consistency.
If the KD Warriors suffered devastating injuries or worse, just straight up failed, they would have been endlessly clowned just like LeBron was clowned after 2011. LeBron was clowned on until the Heat actually won, and LeBron really only ever achieved legendary status after the return to Cleveland and breaking the drought.
LeBron joined a 47 win team, KD joined a 73 win team. Forming your own superteam is actually more impressive than joining one, actually.
They did the same thing if you ignore literally all context around each moves.
Exactly. People like to hyper focus on players putting themselves in a better position to win as if it’s all the same. As if there was nothing that happened that lead to either decision.
LeBron took matters into his own hands after being failed by his FO. The Cavs biggest signing up to that point was Mo Williams. Bron was definitively the best player in the league and the Cavs didn’t even try to get him a launching pad to get over the Boston hump. A saying that goes along with this would be, “if you want something done right, you have to do it yourself.”
The saying I would attach to KD’s move was “if you can’t beat them, join them.” Yeah not exactly the same lol.
Genuinely wondering was the 2nd go around Cleveland really a superteam? I get that Love was a all star and put up insane number in Minnesota but at the same time Love wasn’t that same Love when he was traded to the Cavs. I get the argument for Miami but I can’t go for it for Cleveland or LA
These are all fallacies. Love had a 30 pt quarter in Cleveland that was posted yesterday lmfao. What most basketball fans (most of which who have never played basketball) don’t realize that players that go play with LeBron have to change their game not the other way around. Love was great with the Cavs he just had a much lesser role with kyrie and bron. Obviously he’s not gonna put up the same numbers from when he had all the touches, but the problem with super teams and we saw this with the warriors, is if one guy is off, you have 2 more that can give you 30. Love was very capable of giving any team 30 if the Cavs ran the offense through him for a game.
lol no he hasn’t. The main gripes people bring up about Bron is team hopping, super teams, flopping and 2011. These exact topics always get brought up when it comes to him for over a decade at this point. Don’t see that as being excused.
I mean the thing about Lebron is he has never forced a trade out of his situation. He has left in free agency every time which is his right. I don’t know why that gets judged. You got a ton of other guys in the league forcing teams to trade them.
People bring em up but the majority excuses it…….. don’t be dense…..
In what way has he been on multiple super teams lol
