Jaylen Brown liked a comment on Instagram saying the Celtics should trade him to a city that respects him
Hi Jaylen we are very respectful I promise
Speak for yourself
He promises that the whole state of Oregon will welcome jaylen brown with open arms
Ehhhh not the whole state
Eastern Oregon would beg to differ
This guy personally guarantees it
nah fuck this dude and his fake intelligence. surprised he didn’t fall off the edge of the world when he went to china
Celtics fans crashing out like I was when Ben Simmons demanded out and started sitting games 5 years ago. It’s beautiful
We have the worst fans. And the worst sports media, especially on the radio. No one is happy unless they are completely miserable.
I have seen every single fanbase say, “we have the worst fans.” multiple times.
tbf, it’s a celtics fan sayin this, so i believe them!
Yes, but the Boston people are actually correct when they say it.
Now I will say that a fan apparently shit herself at Noah Kahan’s show in Philly last weekend because she didn’t want to go to the bathroom and miss any songs so…
So the best fans? That’s hardcore dedication
It’s because since the turn of the century Boston has won more titles across the 4 major sports than any other city in the US. Their fans don’t expect their teams to win, they feel entitled to it, which is why I agree with that OP. I can say this because Lakers fans are pretty damn similar.
At least they have fans smh
only the absolute pussies. the rest of us still support JB
Lmao what JB is doing is not even remotely close
was pretty lit when he live streamed himself finding the lost Nazi Bell tho
Damn okay 😭…though it is interesting you mention “flat earthers”
Kyrie to the Celtics confirmed?
He’s coming home!
Absolutely hilarious how he hams up the chess player persona and has a sub-500 ELO. How are you going to do photoshoots with chess pieces for Slam Magazine when you get smoked by children in beginner matches? Lol
Bruh what are you talking about
Jaylen and Hauser for Deni, Jrue and Sharpe
Totally fair /s
Might as well toss my 3 year old in there too!
Does he attack the rim or settle for 3s?
Can he drive left?
This needs to end already
Noooo i enjoy it
As a messy bitch, I love it
Same lol. I love cats
Something had to fill the void of the eternal Giannis drama.
Jokic in 9 months when Denver is 5th in the West.
I’d bet that Ant gets fed up before Jokic.
I think the Wolves will be competitive. Ant is a couple years out I think.
I mainly think that Jokic’s tolerance for bad years is higher than Ant’s.
I also I think there’s a chance that LaMelo’s time in Minnesota ends up failing catastrophically.
I can’t see Ant being a fan of Lamelo jacking up 35 footers while he’s standing in the corner
I dunno man this is way better than the Giannis nonsense. I’m fine with it so far.
Yeah because the Giannis nonsense lasted for like years at some capacity and at full force for like the last year. Brown nonsense has been weeks at most
It just started lol this could definitely go to the trade deadline
I mean someone needs to replace Giannis for the media’s trade rumor darling
something had to take the space Giannis left
You could help it end bruther
Let us lowball you for AD and that will stop us from being in the JB race just due to salary alone, essentially ending it since no other team seems serious. Be the change you want to see in the world
bro commenting like he won’t come to yall
Me when my neighbors argument spills over to past my bedtime and I can still hear them yelling, but it’s not as good as 10 minutes ago.
Celtics gave him a gigantic extension that people in every other city spent a solid year disrespecting. I remember so many Reddit threads that basically started with some version of Jaylen Brown, Celtics $106 million man, followed by his statline.
That’s being a pro basketball player. I can’t think of anyone who has respected him more than the Celtics.
Facts. They won’t even trade him for less than 4 first rounders + role players, how much more respect we talking?
Ja got traded for a zebra cake and them shits come two in a pack.
can’t wait to see who they trade that other zebra cake for.
or are they going to try to bring zebra cake off the bench, you think?
Thats what I’m saying, they tryna get JB for the other zebra cake but Boston’s not going.
That’s what Jaylen’s not understanding.
JB is worth half a box at least
Zebra cake can run the point
Tbf they’re correct that extension was crazy lol. JB is great but he isn’t Steph or Jokic or whatever and that’s their kind of contract. Probably felt like they had to which is the same reason a few other guys like Booker got those crazy contracts despite just not being on that level for real. Its a bit of an era thing too I think the new CBA mega punishes teams for just throwing the huge contracts around to players just because they’re afraid someone else would even though they’re definitely not up to par with the real superstars. Probably gonna see really good but not the absolute best players go back to not getting a max if they don’t want to go play for some terrible team. Its kind of unfortunate but there just isn’t a max level player for every team in the league and with the aprons in place the super competitive teams are gonna get real with people
I’m honestly kind of shocked the players union signed off on this CBA
It gets players paid, I personally hate it because on no planet should players comfortable outside the top 10 get super maxes and then handcuff their team, but I can understand why players are fine with it because they are getting paid at the end of the day
Its also because the NBA is a buisness first and a sport league second
Literally every single extension he’s gotten, the reactions on here were overpay. Every single one.
I can’t think of anyone who has respected him more than the Celtics.
wasted 10 years on a guy who kept lowering the ceiling of the team and he was exempt from all criticism the entire time because the city worshipped him unconditionally
“im so disrespected”
dude’s just as dumb as Kyrie
Thats a crazy take. Yall act like this man didnt help win a whole championship. Like in the two finals appearances he wasnt the most dynamic player in both.
Hes not exempt from criticism considering hes the one shopped every year. Tatum gets criticized for personality and not shooting enough. Brown gets criticized by saying hes not an effective player.
I feel like im taking crazy pills here
I have a different perspective - in 10 years we won 1 title because of an ultra deep team and for 9 years we suffered because of Jaylen Brown as the primary go-to. People often forget the 2-3 years of “why is he taking the shots away from Tatum” or how many times Miami and Milwaukee eliminated Boston from Brown’s turnovers and bad shots, how many times Brown shot his own team out of the game despite 20 point leads.
Being a part of success does not make you successful.
He’ll learn
Yeah, enjoy new Orleans or something, see how much people care lol
Can’t believe a media narrative actually made a player this unsatisfied with his team lmaooo.
This is historic levels since the Kyrie father figure incident.
Not surprised considering they’re both egotistical fake intellectuals
Brown said Kyrie was a mentor for him too
They’re also both NOI guys and antivaxx dudes
This is the guy who got offended people called him intelligent and articulate so he decided to become an idiot.
People talked about him being the next NBPA president and a few months later he’s retweeting Kanye and Kyrie
He negotiated the CBA that’s causing the Celtics to need to trade him lol
Or he got exposed as a pretend intellectual ? People don’t usually become idiots
It’s not just a media narrative that they tried to trade him for Giannis. And it fell through for Hugo Gonzalez - Imagine winning an FMVP for your team and they were happy to ship your ass out anyway, then didn’t because fucking Hugo Gonzalez was an unacceptable piece to lose.
I’d be salty as fuck too.
Being put in trade conversations for a top 3 player is not an insult. The only times JB has really been shopped by the Cs that we know of were KD a few years ago and Giannis now. That’s pretty respectful.
The Hugo thing isn’t verified and after that we heard it was because the Bucks owner didn’t think JB would sign.
It’s very easy to fall for the media narratives, but the Cs have been pretty great to him.
It’s not insulting if you’re a rational person. NBA superstars are egomaniacs and they all think they’re the best in the league. So being told you aren’t good enough to be traded for Giannis probably put him over the edge. He was super pissed about not being on team USA as well.
Ehhh this is definitely true in theory, but realistically anyone who one with a team especially as recently as he did is going to feel insulted hearing their name in trade talks , especially considering he just lead the team to a way better season than what was expected of them.
No it’s not insulting. But it’s JB we’re talking about here.
Of course he is gonna take offense to the very public trade talks that have been happening for the past month. That’s very much aligned with his personality.
And honestly, I think a lot of players would take offense to that’s they’re not robots.
Nah the Celtics org has handled this whole situation really poorly.
We’ve had 2 NBA mandated appearances from the GM (Brad Stevens had to give an end-of-season conference, and a post-draft press conference) and zero word from the organisation while the media and other teams are relentlessly trashing him publicly.
The Celtics normally stay quiet in these situations, and it normally works out, but this time has been a real circus and the Celtics haven’t recognised or adjusted their approach, they’ve just left him hanging.
Most other teams would have sent a message through reporters that’s he’s valued and the team won’t give him up cheap. Even if it’s just lipservice, it helps cool down the public pile on.
Other teams are using him as trade leverage to get what they want in deals and then disparaging him on the way out, while the media is having a field day at his expense and the Celtics haven’t responded in the slightest.
The Celtics are a multibillion-dollar public-facing organisation, and they just haven’t acted like it. It’s very unprofessional.
Meanwhile Celtics fans have been really disappointing.
He’s a homegrown finals MVP and he was the only guy who showed up in the playoffs and our fanbase is treating him the same way LA treated Kuzma on the way out.
He had 33/9/4 in G7 and was playing C at stretches trying to defend Embiid because none of our bigs could stay on the floor. We’re acting like he’s Ben Simmons, the loss just wasn’t on him.
It’s pretty clear that Brad Stevens and the Celtics don’t give a shit about Jaylen Brown and view him the same way the media does. The only thing they’re upset at is the fact that his value tanked and they can’t find a trade they like for him.
It doesn’t matter.
There’s a certain level of professional courtesy that an organisation should show its employees.
Ime Udoka sexually harassed the wife of an executive (who was also an employe of the team), and the Celtics made more of an effort to protect his image than they have with Jaylen Brown.
No, people confuse what the team primarily did: they made an effort to protect the victim(s) first, Udoka being made to shut up about it and given a sort of respectful out was just (unfortunate) consequences of it. Just that this didnt blow up like Vrabel did is a good result. Udoka’s victim(s) got taken care of, and still gets all the shit but somewhat saves some face.
Your kind of fans dont care about nuances in most situations.
Celtics made more of an effort to protect his image than they have with Jaylen Brown.
Brown has tanked his own image with his own words on his own damn twitch stream. Take the Leprechaun dick out of your mouth for one second.
Lol, especially when he was directly going against the media
He also is really really really stupid
I mean it worked to get KD out of Golden State, about how he’ll never be loved like Steph, it’s not his team, etc. etc. despite how much Kerr glazed him and everyone accommodated him outside of Draymond sensing he was one foot out (and handling it badly).
Had he just re-signed with Golden State for another 5 after he gave it all tearing his Achilles in a Finals game, the media would have nothing to say about his loyalty, any narrative would have died for being boring as the Warriors crammed a few more rings down everyone’s throats, and his identity would have been cemented with the Dynasty.
Instead, he left and Steph won another hard carrying without him, putting his career in special scrutiny, feeding an even more damaging narrative.
Anyway, it’s interesting that the media narrative to get stars to become disgruntled with their prime team situations seems to work on Kyrie-adjacents.
This connection came to me even before I realized Kyrie himself leaving the Cavs could qualify.
It’s easy to believe when you remember he’s a complete idiot
Which city respects him?
Sacramento can try faking it
Ya have to fake it….the ones that don’t fake it are the ones who get it the worst… and sometimes…you don’t fake it
Shanghai
Bro listed like five cities I’m not even going to pretend to know them
Legit Boston lol, they love him more than Tatum out there
Yeah, no we don’t. That’s the straight up lie I’m sorry who are you? Kidding don’t don’t fool yourself. Boston loves Tatum more than brown. Come on now.
[deleted]
The city is different from the online fanbase but also the Celtics subreddit literally celebrated not landing Giannis because it meant we kept JB hes got a lot of stans in there too
I was so elated to not get Giannis thinking we’d keep Jaylen
I was so elated you guys didn’t get Giannis and now thinking you won’t keep Jaylen
Its really fueling my hater spirit 🙏🏿
Finals MVP. He’s not going anywhere I don’t believe all this social media bullshit. Jays for life
reddit is a fraction of the real world lmao
Redditor discovers life exists outside Reddit.
One thing I’ve learned—real world opinion is usually the opposite of the common Reddit opinion
Majority of that subreddit aren’t from Boston
Wildly incorrect. JB is beloved in Boston, but there’s no competing with Tatum here.
Okay. Fine. We’ll do it. Just go ahead and send JB our way.
Look I’m desperate, but not enough to not laugh at the Hotep shit.
no one
ESPN and Nike conspired to make every city hate him.
He would work really well in Houston. They have the assets for Boston in a return too
Celtics fans will be happy as long as Reed Sheppard is involved
He plays the game the right way
real high IQ guy, stats show dat
Super classy too
Sneaky athletic also
White.
We are talking about Reed Sheppard, not Derick White
A real gym rat
The world is so chaotic, it’s comforting when the most predictable thing the world actually happens
It’s hilarious that some celtics fans are mad at this but have no smoke for brad.
JB is human, how would you feel if your name was plastered in all these rumors, trades talks after the season you just had. JB is hurt and it’s understandable.
They just paid him $60 mil. It comes with the job
It’s a two way street. Your employer can decide they are better off without you whenever they want for any reason at all, but you’re allowed to be pissed off about that and want a better situation for yourself.
Sure you can want better but doing so publicly while getting paid tens of millions makes you feel kinda soft.
Anyone who has worked customer service or honestly most jobs period can tell you there are points where they fucking hate their job, maybe they have an asshole boss, or an annoying coworker or have to deal with shitty customers all day who call them names over some 10% discount but we all put up with it and none of us get paid nearly as much as NBA players do. Feelings are inherent in most people but how you choose to express them is what shows your level of maturity.
Stop comparing the NBA to regular jobs it’s not a 1:1 comparison at all lmao
You’re only worth as much as someone will pay you
Or in this case, who is willing to take you with your contract and the picks required
It’s like someone being upset at their pay or job but nobody else wants to pay them more either
Ive got smoke for the F.O.
They constantly dangle JB for bait, when hes done nothing but improve every single season. At some point you have to feel like nothing you do is good enough or fully appreciated.
It sucks. I’ve rooted for JB since we drafted him and always had hope and belief he could become this kind of player & I dont blame him for wanting to leave. This isnt the first or second or third time his name has been thrown in for a deal. It seems inevitable the Celtics will pull the trigger one day, if they keep flirting with the idea so much.
Trust me, I truly do get it. He’s 100% allowed to have his feelings on the matter.
But do you feel worse for JB or for IT? Jaylen was around for all that, he knows how all of this works. He got paid with us, won it all, but now we’re in a similar position where this team just isn’t good enough to go all the way, and that requires some hard truths. End of the day, it’s a business, and I feel way less bad for JB than for how we did IT bc JB at least still got his
Everyone hates jaylen brown and thinks he’s overpaid and overrated.
Now boston is doomed because he’s being shopped and disgruntled.
Remember everyone shitting on his massive contract and him not being able to dribble with his left? Or boston being statistically better with him off the floor?
Narratives
Same people who wanted him tossed into a Giannis trade now want Boston “to show him more respect”
I think the issue is he is overrated compared to whatever he thinks of himself in his mind. He’s simply not a top 5 player, doesn’t have that ceiling. But he considers the treatment from the Celtics to be disrespectful. The entitlement on this guy is nuts
Okay but that’s not a rare thing in the nba, some rookies speak right away how they’re better than established vets/stars.
Nba stars are entitled, shocker.
I mean he is overrated for his contract imo but he’s still a really good player.
Dumb. Leaving out all the nuance and context. Did Jaylen Brown write this comment?
Honestly the longer this keeps going on the worse of a return we are going to get. Brad should’ve had the contingency trade in place if the giannis one didn’t go through.
We’re never going to have Jaylen be a trade-able asset as high as he was coming off of this past season.
Agreed.
Brad fumbled this. You have to have a backup trade so when/if the Bucks tell you no you can pivot to the other trade and call it in within 24 hours.
Maybe drawing the line at Hugo Gonzalez was a bad idea
That’s not actually what happened. The Bucks FO didn’t believe that Brown would be happy staying in Milwaukee. As a result, they wanted the deal that included more picks.
This guy is so in his feelings about normal NBA business it’s hilarious. What an annoying baby.
The teams star player went down and he carried them to the playoffs despite that, then the team very publicly tried to shop him in a deal that didn’t pan out.
Now he’s rightfully pissed and wants out.
How is that being a baby? What would your mood be?
He’s also been in trade talks many times before. At this point you can’t really blame the guy
Pretty much all of the trade talks were for players that are clearly better than him without question though.
And then all he did was kept getting better until he won them a ring and finals MVP. These guys are human and it’s dumb to say “that shouldn’t affect you, those guys are better than you!”
It happened once in 2022 and it was for KD. If he thinks he’s bigger than the program then that’s on him. He’s been a lemon in dozens of high leverage situations w/o Tatum (G7 vs. Miami, G5/G6 vs NYK, G7 vs. Philly, awful record vs good teams in 2026)
You skipped the part where they lost in the first round and he immediately ran to the internet to do a public livestream where he just went off about everything and everyone lmao.
I mean if you change the timeline to make it look like hes totally innocent then ya sure.
But it was more like he had that good season(regular) then got bounced in the first round, went on his little please worship me streaming platform, and cried about the refs cried about the outcome, had to go on stream again days later for some public apology because he eluded to some strange stuff about brad stevens or something. Then he started fighting with the media like a child because he fairly got dragged for being a little cry baby in public(totally cool to be upset, but doing so on a streaming platform deserves criticism).
THEN he got put in trade talks.
I don’t even like Brown but the way people are acting he has no right to be pissed about this entire situation is funny.
It’s like some fans just want a chance to bash him for being too uppity.
I appreciate how passive aggressive social media allows people to be.
Jaylen just know we’ll give you the respect you deserve and will treat you like a king. You’ve should’ve been a Net a long time ago it’s only right for you to play for us, and you get to face the Celtics 4 times a year.
I’m on board for the right price but as you know we don’t have a good track history of trading picks with Boston
Only fair for Boston to return the favor now
Shenzhen it is
JB pull up the stream
Hope he goes to a fun team
I know the Rockets aren’t in play at all but hopefully the price drops and we swoop in. I am so disillusioned with the direction of the team I am fine with the Jaylen Brown play.
I’m not gonna lie I’m genuinely shocked he wants to be traded
I thought he’ll know it’s apart of the business and just accept it
I think it’s the Hugo thing that broke the camel’s back. JB has always been dangled as trade bait every time someone is available and took it as part of business, but then suddenly fucking Gonzalez is too good to give up for Giannis? It’s disrespectful, there’s no way around that.
Jaylen’s favorite season immediately followed with Jaylen’s least favorite off-season.
Blazer fans will respect you Jaylen. Come join Ja haha
Micah Nori about to char broil this league
“Faux-intelligent to mask whiny arrogance” has gotta be the most loathsome NBA archetype in a while.
I’m like the only Celtics fan that wants Jaylen gone. He’s worshipped in Boston
What a tool
And I saw Celtics fans they wouldn’t want Giannis for him straight up. Lol
Yea that’s pretty nuts lol
Everyone focuses on the negative
They coulda added 3 FRPs and it wouldn’t have been enough
What city is that, JB?
Ok we get it already
He’s tanking his own value to facilitate a trade.
Unintentionally
Didn’t this start with rumors of him wanting his own team and being the #1 over tatum?
Victim complex
If Scottie Pippen was well paid and watered down
I can’t speak for all Blazers fans but JB’s act on and off the court is annoying to me. Maybe he’s insecure or something, idk. Just chill and be great bro.
I wonder how he would vibe under Dame’s leadership in Portland. Maybe Dame would let him lead?
Likely not happening, honestly.
You don’t want him on your team. He’s turning into a really big headache nowadays. He keeps talking about how the NBA and their refs have some grand conspiracy against him. The nutjob also claims the refs have personally told him this, which is pretty hilarious.
You don’t want this guy on your team. Trust me. He’s just gonna keep losing his marbles more and more.
We will respect him. Not his off the court stuff, but respect being better than anyone on our team.
The good with JB far outweighs the bad
The livestream crash out is gonna be legendary
🍿 that man is messy 🍿
The spurs could respect him
Rockets please
Can’t wait for someone to unveil a bunch of Jaylen Brown Kevin Durant-style burners
Bro get a life.
JB seems like a very unhinged person
Charlotte’s other major pro sports team’s best player is also named Brown. We’d respect you Jaylen.
hope you enjoy the Hornets sans Grayson Allen, Grant Williams, Tre Mann, Tidjane Salaun, and some 1sts
derrick freaking brown
Charlotte respects BoBerry biscuits, cookout and Jaylen Brown
Who fuckin cares
Jaylen has said some questionable things, but he’s a great player and, from the outside looking in, I don’t see how the Celtics can improve by trading him. Almost immediately, seemingly Ainge and certainly Brad Stevens preferred Tatum—who’s never been involved in trade talks as far as I’m aware. I’m not totally sure why that is.
But then to be fair, Brown has been offered in exchange for 2 of maybe the top 20 or 30 players in league history in Giannis and KD. Maybe everyone just needs to chill.
Jaylen Brown to China confirmed?
China it is
Come to the blazers baby
That’s fine. Celtics dont need that selfish attitude. What they need, though, is fair compensation
Does anyone respect him anymore?
Ey Jaylen, LA could learn to love you
Jaylen “Kevin Durant” Brown
Reminder that Brown won both ECF and Finals MVP during their championship season. Not Tatum
He’s treated like he got all that money and ain’t do shit like embiid or Simmons.
I seriously am curious on who are the fans that scope these kind of things out and why lol
if youre just reading comments usually their profile picture with a little heart will appear indicating theyve liked it
Some random on twitter found it and word spread fast. Then someone got nba central to repost it
If you already follow JB it will show you if he likes any comment you happen to reading on social media
Cmon down to Brooklyn my guy.
If only he respected Detroit.
