This is what every franchise should do when they have a real legend playing for them. Ya you might be awful for a while after, but without a player like steph you dont have near the success so you do whatever you can to give that guy as many shots at a ring as you can before he hangs it up. Yeah people gonna clown this (haven’t seen many atm tbf) but on paper these moves the warriors are making could work or at the very least make for ONE HELL of an interesting season that’s for sure

You could look at it as a bunch of old guys getting together at the retirement home but I like to look at it as some pretty elite, albeit older now, players getting ready for one more round of awesome basketball

Edit: and by one more round I actually mean a few more years but it depends on Bron. Cus I think Steph definitely has a few more years if he wants it. I could see Bron being done after this year or I could also see him being done after 3 years. I don’t think he plays that much longer but I think he’s taking it on a year by year basis based on how he feels but from the outside looking in he doesn’t look like he’s ready to retire

This feels a lot like the 2013 Lakers or 1999 Rockets. Just like those two teams, this potential Warriors team would be a lock to win a championship if they played together just 2-3 seasons ago.

If you can coast enough to keep them all healthy and still make the playoffs they are all still really good but man it could all go wrong at any given moment

if you don’t have an actual shot at a championship with an aging superstar, your only options are to blow it up, or make high risk moves that increase your ceiling, even if you’re 90% likely to flop

We’d get some crazy stats at the end of the year like “the Warriors were +178 points for the 37 minutes this season where Steph, LeBron, and AD were all on the court together”

Tbf the expendable had Jason Statham while he was still at the top of getting those action roles. It was a bunch of old legends and himself/Crews at the start and didn’t start adding every semi-popular person that was clearly a plant to try to elevate their acting careers until the following films.

if everyone’s healthy, even at their current ages, they’d be a monster together. injuries would be an obvious risk and they desperately need another shooter next to steph with a lebron/dray/AD frontcourt, but that team at its best is dangerous af

tbh if they do this, they should try to trade draymond. he fell of big time last year, is like useless on offense at this point, and would be very redundant next to lebron and AD. AD at the 4 next to KP or ancient al horford would be an interesting look
