Players with the same names.
While I was browsing the Timberwolves subreddit, I was surprised to see that Mo Gueye had been traded, only to realize that it was a different Mo Gueye. This got me curious, so I wanted to see which other NBA players have the same name. Here are the players that I found.
Michael John Smith and Michael John Smith both played and lasted until 1995 Season, one only played in the 1995 Season and one retired on that year.
Charles “Shakey” Jones and Charles Jones both played for the Washington Bullets in the 1989 Season, and somehow the same height of 6’9 and position of Forward.
George “The Block” Johnson and George Johnson, one left the Atlanta Hawks in the 1982 Season. Only for the Hawks to sign another player named George Johnson for the following 1983 Season and they both played the same position of Power Forward.
Eddie “Fast Eddie” Johnson and Eddie “Smooth Shooter” Johnson.
John “Hot Rod” Williams and John “Hot Plate” Williams, both had the same height of 6’8 and played the same position of Power Forward.
Steven “Smiity” Smith and Steven Smith, a role player who played for the Dallas Mavericks for one season.
Roger “The Rajah” Brown and Roger “N/A” Brown. One was a hall of famer and other was a bench Center.
Earvin “Magic” Johnson and Earvin “Earvin Johnson The Center” Johnson. One was a legendary HOF Player and the other was a well known Center.
Jim O’Brien and Jim O’Brien, both played from 1973-1975. Not related at all somehow with that name.
Mo “Hawks Legends” Gueye and Mo “There’s two of you?” Gueye, both currently playing in the present day.
Chris Paul and Rajon “Chris Paul” Rondo. Legendary Pointguards at their respective eras.
Michael Smith (Too many to count)
That’s basically it, just a random post to be honest. I don’t know if I missed anyone else, that’s well known.
