[Highlight] Lamelo Ball hits the game-winning shot in his final home game as a Charlotte Hornet
Now the Hornets have no Balls.
LaMelNo
NahMelo
Read this in gal gadot’s voice
The trade certainly took balls, for worse
And only one Knueppel
With less car crashes
I completely forgot this is the game where he “accidentally” tripped up Bam.
Wemby’s elbow completely eclipsed that story lmao
gumby elbow was the second round, this got swept under the rug cuz it was a play in game and hornets got crushed by orlando right after
True, it was on Mr. 83-point himself tho. That’s like injuring the GOAT before his legendary playoff run
i don’t speak of 83, i know him as Bam Wilson and nothing more (don’t look at my flair)
Crazy only one of them got additional fines.
The 2nd time he’s “accidentally” tripped bam
I was gonna say “now show his actual game winning highlight”
I almost forgot how people acted like it was a foregone conclusion the Hornets would make it through and that they were the scariest team too play for DET/BOS lol…
They got a lot of smoke blown up their ass after January just to still miss the playoffs
This is the second time he “accidentally tripped” bam actually
I woke up feeling a little better, but thanks for the reminder
Well first off, through Naz Reid all things are possible. So jot that down on a post it note and set it next to your alarm and when you wake up tomorrow read that instead.
We can win the title with naz Reid?
Of course. Naz Reid
I apologize. I’ll be looking forward to the future championship. Thank you naz Reid
Naz Reid
Thank you Naz Reid!!
The lamelo era is over but we didn’t really accomplish much. I don’t think the trade is as bad as people say I just wish we got more
You got Naz Reid. What more could anyone ask for?
we’ll see what all happens in the offseason for me to determine one way or the other
Yall do remember the only reason this happened is because he made some of the dumbest plays on defense to allow Miami to come back. Like Fox level
That’s my point guard 🥹
Please take care of him 🥲
I’m conflicted about it since he unlocked a lot of the Hornets offense and they are my second team, now that I live in the triangle area. I’m hoping it turns out to be a win-win since both teams have endured so many years of pain already.
I seriously doubt it will be a win for the hornets and I would be legitimately surprised if this doesn’t go well for the Timberwolves. I’ll always cheer Lamelo on and I’m happy for him that he has a real opportunity to succeed now.
Likewise with Naz, love that guy. It’s certainly a confusing move, but the Hornets must believe Coby White can be the guy.
Everyone in this state is a transplant who doesn’t pull for our teams xD. Panthers games are a free home game for whatever team we are playing…
Not last year they weren’t (besides the bills game)
Please appreciate him. We had a lot of weird fans in Charlotte that didn’t like him. Dude is underrated and gonna prove it with real talent around him.
I swear I’ve always been a Wolves fan for years
Final Tyler Herro Heat game as well
Don’t forget lamelo played like shit this game
Yeah and that’s why the turnaround at the end was impressive for me
Making one good play doesn’t negate the shit plays
they won the game so not sure what this is supposed to mean. He played bad and turned it around to win the game. You just don’t like lamelo lol
I’m putting this game in perspective for people. It’s supposed to be a feel good memory for hornet fans but it was incredibly frustrating to watch him go 2-16 on threes and a turnover right before this.
Felt pretty good to win a play-in game for the first time lol (even though the next one went horribly). He was our guy and he came up clutch when it mattered that game.
and threw the ball away that gave them the lead in the first place on one of the most boneheaded turnovers of his career.
2-16 from 3. Happy we got that win but it was frustrating to watch him spam 3’s over and over.
Or that he should have been ejected in the 1st quarter and only didnt because the refs missed it
He Miles and Coby won them the game
The first 47 minutes matter too
He was really snatching ankles this game.
😅 It lead to the Giannis deal so I’ll allow it.
It hurts
Especially being the fact Pelle was wide open Davion just didn’t see him smh
man what the hell bro i just woke up
12⁄31 and 2⁄14 from 3 in this game, only to somehow play worse in the next
2⁄16 from 3
he will spam 3s even if he cant hit water from a boat
if we’re down 25 points in the 4th quarter he will keep spamming 3s hoping to get it all back in 2 minutes
He won them the game with Miles and Coby. He was the only starter that showed up versus Orlando. A -9 in a 30 point loss. Every other starter was a -20+
Plus minus in a single game is an incredibly flawed metric but go off, acting like -9 in a 9⁄10 play in game is good
Glad I don’t have to worry as much about this man taking out my franchises players
My favourite shot of his is when he screeched like a bird when he was wide open!
No pun intended, but what a ballsy move from the Hornets. It honestly has a logic behind it which I can’t completely dismiss. Let’s hope it works out for them
Yea I’m tired of people acting like we made an all time bad decision. I’ll miss lamelo but he didn’t play a lot. I wish we got more from the trade though
To me it’s very clear that the Hornets: 1) wanna contend, 2) don’t see Lamelo as a 1st option that can lead them to that goal, 3) think there’s a reasonable chance that he will keep on being injury prone, 4) are confident in their current young core and in their ability to build around it.
From that pov, it becomes logical to trade Ball after a healthy season, when his value is high, and after they’ve gotten young guys that they believe in and that have shown the right mindset to set up a winning culture within the team environment.
Yea I agree. Lamelo is a major defensive liability and doesn’t stay healthy. I hope he and the timber wolves do good this season but honestly I think the conference finals is the ceiling for this team
Yea, it just makes sense. Not saying I necessarily believe in their vision, but I’d be lying if I said there wasn’t one.
Anyone who says it’s an all time bad decision don’t know ball
They knew it would never get any better
and the final miami game of herro
I remember Coby White becoming God for 7 minutes in that game to even get them close..LaMelo kept making bone headed defensive and offensive mistakes but I GUESS made up for it here?
I could literally fucking cry. I hate it here.
This last season was the first in a long, long time where I felt genuinely hopeful about the Hornet’s future. FML.
Bro I swear. The pain is real. I was sooo excited for the offseason and next season. Now look at my goofy ass. Hurt.
I like lamelo. Didn’t he almost blow the game right before this?
Rare hornets highlight day
Very cool shot. Everybody’s saying it.
this is one time he actually went in the paint and took a high percentage shot when we really needed to score
he shot 2 of 16 from 3
he would refuse to go inside, if he ever got inside he would throw the ball out for a 3
In fairness if you add on the 30 seconds before that it’s him singlehandedly blowing a lead with a godawful sequence of bad defense and turnovers to put them in a position to need this to begin with, which is the LaMelo experience in a nutshell.
God, I’m gonna miss it. It was nice to at least have entertaining basketball for a while to break up the boring basketball the Hornets usually play, and I would have liked to have seen more than half a season to see if it could be good entertaining basketball long term.
I was there, now it just feels sad
