We’re hoping Khaman Malanuach pans out (10th pick last year out of duke), he’s ridiculously raw though and we red shirted him most of his rookie year.

We’re happy with Oso Ighodoro as our unique backup small ball 5. He has an interesting high IQ game where he is a switchable athletic defender, can be a useful secondary playmaking hub on offense, semi competent rim protector. 

Downside is he has almost 0 offensive game to the point he got hacked in the play in vs Blazers and it was a good strategy to make us lose.

Mark Williams serves as a stopgap to give us starting caliber center minutes, and due to his health will force opportunities into our 2nd year Malanuach and 3rd year Oso.

Suns are an interesting team where we screwed up so bad with our cap sheets and future picks that our goal is just to be competitive vs a contender and try to grow talent out of stones. So far it’s been working out, even if there’s a ceiling on this

probably designed to fit within the MLE for any team that wants to use it as a trade exception

To me it makes the most sense because our issue was frontcourt talent. They’re all young and need to develop, so continuity makes the most sense. You could put Shai next to Booker and I’d still be surprised if we got past the second round, because we just get slaughtered in the paint.

Our entire future is based on how good Maluach, Rasheer, Oso, Mark, and now Peat get. So we gotta give them the best environment we can.

Paying Williams 13mm while having Malauch get more playtime is good combo at the C position

Great for half the season and meh cause injured the other half means this is a pretty great deal. If he produced consistently the whole season he would be worth even more.

That happens to a lot of good centers that cant shoot. Rudy gets benched sometimes. Its matchup dependent.

MW when healthy is a good NBA center. 12m per year is a steal for a good NBA center
