Blake Griffin Interviewing Rookie Steph Curry
James harden! what up big guy!?!?
The absolute foresight to know he’d be fat suit harden someday
Harden calls Blake big guy tho.
Harden called Blake big guy, not the other way around
blaake really treating steph like a rookie here
Crazy to think. 3 legends and 4 championship rings between them. Incredible.
I see what you did there.
My defense of them has always been how can they win the finals if they’ve never been? It’s an unfair critique.
I mean harden has
Didn’t even know his name. “Steven” “Stephon” lol
Harden didn’t want to be there even then. Waiting for the strip clubs to open!
Nah this was pre Miami harden, his third eye hadn’t been opened yet
Imagine alternate reality Harden who stayed in OKC and never became or was delayed to be the main guy for years.
Blake lookin 35 beside Steph and Harden back then 😭
The James Harden beat switch
Before the money haircuts
Generic 2k haircut
Also in this draft: Demar, Jrue Holiday, and Jeff Teague. This was a really good draft.
Ricky Rubio, James Johnson and Taj Gibson too. Not quite the franchise guys (neither is Teague, fucking bum) but they all played 10+ years in the league.
Jeff Teague slander will not stand, man is the NBA podcast storytelling GOAT
crazy how this was the same draft class — blake was ROY but steph ended up redefining the position. you just never know with rookies
Blake didn’t play his rookie season, Tyreke Evans actually won ROY with Steph getting 2nd. Blake won it the next season.
And he beat John Wall who was amazing. But Blake was generational as a rookie tbh. He was must watch every night. Such a fun time.
If I may, Steph ended redefining the whole game of Basketball.
Curry is still the only player to ever get double-full-court-pressed for the entirety of a game back in college. Dropped a legendary 0 points in creating truly the first and only ever 4v3 organized basketball game from start to finish.
THAT ALONE should have had him drafted at #1 easily, without question as it is STILL the craziest thing in basketball and likely in any sport ever. This should have instantly pinned him against Jordan in terms of potential but outside of the news reports, Front Office’s didnt pay much attention because of Curry’s size (like idiots). Crazy how much people would rather block the actual reality in front of them simply because they need to follow some bro science about needing to be 6’9 250 to be any good.
Those OKC teams with Harden as the 6th Man was something else. I wasn’t familiar with him pre bush(beard).
You could just say beard hahahahaha
This was that awkward phase when the media would alternate between calling him (Curry) Steph-in, Steph-on or Steph.
My dumbass thought Brandon Jennings would be the best player from this draft
I mean he wasn’t a bad prospect at the time… but ya, fell short
Tbf 55 in MSG is still one of the most memorable rookie performances ever
harden where beard?
“Hey, good luck in your career. I’ll be watching you.”
Proceeds to become the bane of his team’s existence a few years later.
James harden had lips?!
Blake already had comedic chops since he’s a rookie
Yeah he is a natural. I expect that he will be in media for a while and I hope to see him winning some acting awards if someone was able to find a perfect casting for him.
Don’t ask Curry to rap tho.
Goddamn, that’s James Harden? It’s my first time to see him without the beard.
Stephan Cur Ray
Man Blake’s haircut here was crazy
Kind of same answer Jalen Brunson has when directed at him
Harden without the full beard is so weird
Idk why, but it’s always so funny to me to see young athletes with how they looked then versus now. Major glow ups.
i dunno how TNT is so invested in trying to make Draymond happen as a future Chuck replacement when clearly Blake Griffin made so much sense in terms of personality/humor; he and Chuck even had a hilarious back-and-forth while they were playing one of those celebrity golf tournaments a few years back. letting Amazon scoop him up is like Comedy Central letting HBO poach John Oliver before they locked him up to succeed Jon Stewart
the 2009 draft class isn’t 1984, 1996 or 2003, but i’d wager it’ll give most of the other classes a run for their money: Steph, Harden, Blake, Demar, Jrue, Teague, with some solid vets mixed in
