In a tie game with 20 seconds left, Collin Sexton calls for the ball but is waved off demonstrably by Isaiah Collier who ends up getting an 8 second violation. This leads to a HEATED exchange on the bench. “Give me the f***ing ball!”
I’m just curious what Collier’s defense was in that argument lol.
he was following the game plan to tank. it’s sexton who’s out of line
Collier ended up hitting a game winner
he was keeping you on your toes
This cracks me up because in my home town there was a gymnastics and ballerina instructor for kids, her name was Ms. Collier and her slogan was “keeping you confidently on your toes” or some shit like that 😂😂
He’s playing both sides so he always comes out on top.
Hahaha 6 7
Collier: “Stop! Stop! Stop! Please let me go! Please let me go first! I’m doing something!”
55 pts, 55 assists, 55 burgers, 55 fries
Smh clearly uncoachable
The best kind
The coach must have been furious at him.
“coach said we need the 2nd overall pick”
This was Jan 2025 and we got the 5th pick that year
Didn’t sexton only get traded to u this year?
Maybe your concept of time is catching up… but he was apart of the Donovan Mitchell haul.
Jazz traded him to Charlotte for Nurk during the last offseason
Had a bet against his team and took the over with his turnovers
“You suck too” would work
lol I was at this game. Sexton is rightfully pissed. Jazz ended up winning in OT.
Someone said collier hit the game winner
One of yall is mistaken
Or Collier hit the game winner in overtime and they’re both right?
lol he did, in OT. Both can be true.
Collier hit the game winner in OT
what does this even mean
I had a moment where I thought this was the Cavs 😅 it’s early. I’ll hold my L
I have never seen a ballhandler facing zero pressure SLOW DOWN before crossing half court with 16 on the clock.
He got the memo to tank
First time I ever saw it was Rajon Rondo when he was on the mavericks (remember that) against Houston, he was so mentally checked out that series and Carlisle benched him for the rest of the series I think.
they faked a back injury so he had an excuse for why he wasnt playing
That’s just a pro tanking move right there
Then Collier didn’t follow all the way through because he ended up hitting a game winner in this game
Reminds me of a comment I heard in an Among Us lobby. “No matter whether he was crew or imposter, he played that round poorly.”
They won the game
Didn’t Collier win them this game in the end anyway’s?
Yup!
Collin Sexton needs to be playing 12-15min for a contender.
Then he can come back to the Jazz then!
I would like to hear Collier’s side of this argument. Like…what could it possibly be?
Pride and ego will make someone defend the craziest of things in an argument 😂.
I’m upset and I don’t even care for the team. I’d be so mad as a teammate or coach
Sorry bud, but the plan was to tank
Is it just me or did it seem like it was less than 8 seconds?
When the clock hits 15 the player and ball have to be on the other side of the mid court line. You can watch any of the shot clocks. I love defense :)
It was really close but as the clock turns to 15 he still has a foot in the backcourt, at 10s in the video.
Zach Zarba, or whatever ref that was, was parked on the half court line and basically expecting the violation, lol.
Sexton is a dog, great microwave scorer
Jordan Clarkson must be so happy to be away from fckn Utah
This was 100% called once he was past half court for like a second 🤣
Yeah if you count with the clock tho it was 8 seconds before he crossed
Feels like they started the 24 second clock early
Pretty random post of a two year old lowlight from a player who made significant strides year 2.
Tied*
collier bet the over
Deliberate tanking
The play that made KD leave the warriors
i remember this lol, why is this being posted now
Tankoff of epic proportions lmao. What an embarrasing display of clutchtime execution from both sides
Sasha Vujacic died so that Isaiah Collier could walk.
Alternate joke: Collin Sexton finishes what Andrew Bynum started
I know it’s the rule but that’s a pretty lame enforcement of it
wait why would collier call a timeout there
That’s a weak ass call when it’s a tie game and that much tjme left. He crossed about the 16 sec mark.

The 8-second violation is called very consistently. You rarely see it because it rarely takes more than 8 seconds to cross halfcourt, especially without any pressure.
Maybe OP thinks Sexton wouldn’t have done the same, but he also doesn’t look like he’s in a hurry because he should’ve told Collier to get it across. I could totally see Sexton getting the pass when he called for it, walking it up just as slow and not beating the count either
Sexton should have gone to the school of champions like Collier did #FightOn
But he went to USC. Not Stanford!
Stanford University holds the record for the most NCAA Division I team national championships, with 137 team titles. The UCLA Bruins are second with 124 titles, and the USC Trojans rank third with 115.
Looked like a pretty ticky tack call tbh
There’s not such thing as a ticky tack 8 second call. You’re either across the line or you’re not. He wasn’t.
Thunder fan would love the rules lol
It’s not loving the rules to acknowledge that those rules exist. 😂
Eistein taught us everything is relative - i say when the game is on the line try to swallow the whistle, especially on 8 sec calls lol
They can swallow their whistle on subjective calls, but not objective calls. One heel is on the line and the other foot is very clearly behind.
Would you really want them to let them keep playing if the ball hits the baseline, or count a three with a toe on the line, or let them shoot after the buzzer…? Lol.
The main difference is this play had no effect on the outcome of the game - maybe if someone was guarding him, but i dont think unguarded Collier being .1 seconds behind the half court is going to affect the game
Of course it affects the game. Brooklyn gets the ball instead of Utah. Just like if Collier accidentally stepped out while bringing it up.
They get the ball if the call is made, but the infraction itself had no impact on the game
So if a guy catches the ball on the side at the 3 point line, but his heel comes down on the out of bounds line, and then he shoots and makes it… You want the refs to just ignore that heel hitting the line and give him the bucket?
Not at all what I was saying
Yes it is. His heel tapping the sideline doesn’t affect the game at all. He still made the shot.
Einstein didn’t teach that everything is relative.
8 seconds is 8 seconds. It’s a measurement device to avoid subjectivity.
I know this isn’t your point but Einstein did literally show 8 seconds is not always 8 seconds lol
Um, yeah, when you’re traveling at the speed of light in a vacuum. Collier looked a bit slower than that.
he was past the line before it hit :15
Technically not according to the rule. Rule says both feet need to be established in the front court. His left foot is still hovering behind in the backcourt by the time the shot clock hits 15.
I think that’s when you swallow a whistle, especially with 18 seconds left lol
Postseason game on the line, I could see your point. But there’s no point in swallowing a whistle in a random weekday Jazz vs Nets game 😂.
Man these fans already have to watch the Nets and the Jazz at leaat let them go home on time!
To establish front court position I believe you need 2 feet and the ball across the half-court line
Lol that’s what I saw too - ref was itching to make a 8 sec call lol
It’s an 8 second violation not 9
yes, you have 8 seconds. Once its 8.001 - the shotclock goes to :15, and thats the violation.
But the clock starts at 24.0, so 8 seconds is 16.0 meaning you still have basically a full second once it shows 16 (16.9) - the tick to 15 showing that you’re officially over 8 seconds
Shot clock resets to 24 and starts before Jazz clearly secured the rebound
