Maurice Evans was the first guy for me to personify that “I’m closer to LeBron than you are to me”. I remember going to a Timberwolves game and watching him before the game working out with an assistant coach. He had to be one of the most ripped players I’ve ever seen. And he was splashing every shot he took. Just looking at him there, you could have thought he was some All NBA superstar. But he could not even get on the court that season.
He actually circled back around for some other teams and ended up with a half decent 3 and D career as a role player for several seasons. But it was just interesting at the time to think this is the level of guy struggling to even stay in the league.
