As someone said before the Knicks series, you don’t wear Wemby down by being physical; you make him run. And I think that worked for the Knicks in the finals.

Gobert is still a lob threat and/or a threat from the dunker’s spot, Wemby still has to work hard to make sure he doesn’t give Gobert too much room to leave him to help defense. And Gobert is very good with positioning himself in the right spot.

Defending a elite offensive player is more exhausting but Gobert still made Wemby work for it.

Sochan was not good. Either way he would be glued to the bench just like on the Knicks

Any potential for sochan was taken by his injury, he was never the same, the team getting rapidly good killed his spot on the roster. He’s lucky he got a ring this year because it looks like he’s probably going to end up playing overseas soon after his next stop in the nba. I do think Brian Wright has gotten lucky in the draft amd he hasn’t been great but where he’s been decent is both the fox trade (not the extention) and dejounte trade were great moves.
