Rookie Chris Paul beats the buzzer as he showcases his bag
CP3 was so much fun to watch as a Hornet. I really thought he was gonna go down as the greatest PG ever.
Tried to watch as many of his and Brandon Roy’s games back then (even though they weren’t always available on my channels :()
I forgot what year it was, maybe 2011 when CP3’s 7th seeded Hornets played the Lakers in the first round. That series went to 6 games and could have swung either way. That would have been an insane upset if the Hornets could have stole that series
I felt like Hornets were ALWAYS missing one position. When they had Tyson and West, they didn’t have reliable guards behind CP3, and then when they got better guards, they lost the bigs lol.
Yeah Jarret Jack was their second best perimeter player and that just wasn’t gonna cut it
08 CP3 had me convinced he would be the greatest pure PG of all time, Magic notwithstanding. Shame he didn’t hold up physically because that version was ridiculous.
I still think he’s a top 3 pure PG of all time. I know ring culture matters a lot to casuals but even without a ring you can’t deny he’s one of the best pure PG to ever play the game
I’m a firm believer that ‘08 CP3 should’ve gotten the mvp that year. He led that new orleans team to the second best record in the west and led his team in points, and the league in assists and steals. Obviously Kobe was gonna get his and that year he finally led his conference in his team record, but that was CP3’s year.
maybe top 5, but yeah I’m with you. he’ll age well with his numbers.
those Hornets teams were in the wrong era
Chris Paul Mo Pete Peja David West Tyson Chandler
superstar PG, underrated 3&D guard, the Klay of his era, automatic 20⁄10 PF with an immaculate mid range that would’ve extended to the 3 point line today. elite rim protector and roll man for aforementioned superstar PG. if the Knicks won a championship in 2026, this team could’ve won a championship in 2026
Knicks went up against the Hawks, Philly, and Cavs. That was mid ass competition to get to the finals.
Meanwhile Hornets had to go through an insane western conference gauntlet in one of the most stacked western conference in history
Team had no depth, unfortunately. Janero Pargo and Bonzi Wells were their only half-decent bench pieces and both were unplayable in the Playoffs. Wells was an undersized bully-ball PF who couldn’t shoot and Pargo was an undersized streaky shooter who couldn’t defend. As much as I loved that team, even if they had beaten the Spurs, I don’t see them beating the Lakers in the WCF.
Janero Pargo was a fucking chucker LOL I swear CP3 didn’t want to pass to him cause he knew the ball was going right up, but he had no other choice 🤣
“Rookie of the year, ‘06 Chris Paul shit” - Drake 2007
Noticed how locked in he already is on defense. Lots of players would score there and relax, CP3 a maniac
this looks like footage from 1973… why is it so fucking bad

Kobe would have 6 maybe 7 rings and CP3 would have gotten his illustrious first ring to change his entire narrative of his career
DAGGER
I feel like the nba robbed us of a champion cp3 him and kobe would’ve set the league on fire
Vegan all timer
Never won anything in his life. I pity that fool
That’s just an average layup. Any HS guard can dribble behind their back.
Meh. We see that 5x every game nowadays.
Bullshit. That sequence today has a ton of uncalled contact by the defenders on the drive, CP get mauled by someone trying to aggressively swat the shot, he falls, and it’s an offensive foul
