Jared McCain:
“I was gonna ask for Wemby’s jersey, but since he had a hit out on me, I can’t.”
The Wemby–McCain beef is canon now🍿
Gonna make for a banger Secret Base episode in a few decades
Hope clara is still around by then
Timmy’s Dad vs Dinkleberg ass beef
hit out” makes it sound like a mafia thing
Nice use of the en dash
Another one sided Wemby beef lmao
The other one is Wemby on Chet?

***THAT*** is human being/ social media sensation Jared McCain.
Good one haha
Agent 7’3”
half skaa half noble
Kind of funny seeing this here. I just started Hero of Ages yesterday!
He’s not the hitman though; he’s the boss who hires the hitman.
Ask Naz Reid, Brunson, Alvarado about that
He also flagranted KAT in the finals.
Predator for hire.
Cad Bane?
Fair enough bro, that’s smoke for life
Ngl that would’ve been such a fire jersey swap moment if they didn’t have beef lmao. Wemby really said “no souvenirs for you
I love this man I want nothing but the best for his career whether it be at Thunder or any team.
Another team would be good.
I painted my nails for this man, we love him here.
What’s not to love, honestly.
His vibes are pristine. Sixers in shambles🤦♂️
sixers have such good vibes too… maxey, old man embiid, VJ, lowry, oubre, even PG’s vibes on that team and his relationship with VJ are super strong. mccain on top of that was so sweet, made me really like that team. he might’ve gone to the only team in the league with a better off-court dynamic
lol was “get ze tiktoker” referencing the meechy voiceover??
spoke Swahili to Biyombo. “Nenda kampiga jama” (go kick his ass)
Lingala*
they both speak french anyways
English too, but they are DRC descending
Wemby “The Hitman” Hart!
BAH GAWD WEMBY’S GOT MCCAIN IN THE SHARPSHOOTER
Actually Alvarado almost put him in one if anything
Could he even do that. He’s got to be to tall
And in the Finals
Victor screwed Victor!
let’s be real Wemby was not giving mccain that shit
Genuinely don’t get how people don’t like the okc team, all their guys just seem like solid people.
OKC is interesting because all of the hate is purely centered around the play style. I’ve talked about it before, but the issue is less that SGA flops/falls a lot (though he does do that), and more so that on the other end OKC plays some of the most physical and aggressive defense in the league. It creates a bit of whiplash watching Caruso and Dort put somebody in the torture chamber and then immediately afterwards see SGA draw a touch foul.
And to be clear, the reason OKC is able to play that defense is because they have a ton of super skilled defenders and have spent 2+ years building a reputation of being physical defenders. At the end of the day it’s on the refs to call the game, and while I understand the hate you can’t really blame OKC for playing the way that has the highest chance of them winning. It’s the refs who need to call the game differently, but silver doesn’t seem super interested in that.
I don’t understand how people can say this after watching Castle play the exact same style of physical defense throughout the playoffs. It was the same last year with Nembhard on the Pacers as well. People will complain about one team doing something and completely ignore the other team doing the same thing!
I think you kind of answered your question, the difference is one one physical defender vs an entire team of them. I’m not saying that these feelings are some legitimate referendum on the quality of the OKCs basketball, they are an elite team who are elite at what they do. But when you have a team made up of handsy, physical defenders who are all very good at what they do, combined with a player like Dort who has a history of questionable plays, combined with a superstar like SGA who is more elite than anyone in the league at drawing contact, it’s a recipe for frustrating opposing fans.
I mean those specific players I referred to were just examples. The Spurs in particular generally played a very physical style of defense, similar to what the Thunder have been criticised for. People aren’t consistent and will blindly ignore things to suit their own bias. We’re all probably guilty of that sometimes (especially complaints in the game threads!) but the one-sided narrative was insane at times during the playoffs.
That’s the thing though man, narratives take time to build. OKC has been playing their aggressive defense for 2+ years at this point and SGA is a 2 time MVP. If the spurs continue to play the way they played I’m sure they’ll also begin to develop a reputation. It’s not necessarily a double standard, OKC has just been relevant for longer and had more time for those narratives to build and gain momentum
I mean it’s not just that okc averages the most fouls per game. They’re able to get guys in foul trouble and win games because of their depth. Yeah 100% Shai flops but the teams 17th in free throws. There’s a double standard with Luka because people don’t want the team that’s been the number 1 seed 3 years in a row to win. Then you match up against fan favorites like Ant, Luka, Jokic, and Haliburton and it’s even worse. Sam Presti said it himself. What’s happening with politics and social media is bleeding into sports.
I don’t really understand bringing up the free throw rate to be honest with you. The claim has never been that OKC is shooting an unfair number of free throws as a team, the claim has been that SGA specifically is elite at drawing contact and fouls and at getting people in foul trouble while on the other end OKC (appears to be to some at least) getting more leniency. The reality is a little more complicated there because at the end of the day OKC is just really, really good at toeing that line and more or less daring refs to call things.
Like I said, not saying this is some referendum on OKC basketball. I just think there is a tension between the way they play defense and the way they play offense that leads to opponent frustration.
Bring up free throws because people say they can’t guard SGA the same way teams guard him which just isn’t true. He averages the same number of free throws his mvp years as prime Kobe and less than mvp kd. Why is it so hard to believe a guy that scores 31 a game can get to the line for 8-9 attempts? The argument about physical defense also ignores that okc averages the most fouls per game. None of these narratives are based on stats. I mean this question has been brought up to LeBron, Kyrie, harden, kd, Haliburton, etc. and they don’t agree with the general populations take.
That’s kind of my entire point dude. People’s feelings aren’t rooted in the stats, it’s why bringing them up feels a bit tone deaf. People get frustrated watching OKC because on one end they are tip-toeing the line of physicality and Dort and Caruso are all over people, and then on the other end they have SGA who is the most elite in the league at drawing touch fouls. They aren’t mad because SGA is literally drawing fouls that win them the game, they’re frustrated because the tension between OKCs offense and defensive styles and abilities make them feel like the game is being called unfairly - regardless of whether or not it is.
I mean I agree, but I still think it’s more to do with 3 straight years as the number 1 seed and fans wanting to see okc lose based off that. Also jokic and Luka fans have a hatred towards SGA like none other for him winning mvp over them. There’s a lot of emotional aspects that I think are more at play here than actual basketball.
They all are extremely active in the community, have zero legal issues, genuinely enjoy playing with each other and play hard. My favorite thing though is they all take time for the fans. Im biased but I haven’t seen a more fan friendly team thats successful and still acts like they’re just making a name for themselves.
Fans will ignore all of these qualities and despise players because they try to make the refs blow the whistle at times. Practically every player in the league does this, but the top teams will be more heavily scrutinized because people will think their success is directly tied to “foul baiting”
they’re some of my favourite players in the league. they’re just all so nice, to each other and to their city
People hate small markets when they become good
It’s partially the playstyle as discussed above, but I think Hali tearing his Achilles is an underrated piece of the bad PR. The fact that such a great series ended on such a miserable note poisoned people’s feelings about the winners moving forward. It’s a lot like the playstyle, in that the refs calling the game in a way people hate is absolutely not OKC’s fault, and Hali’s injury is absolutely not OKC’s fault, but people can’t give any meaningful vitriol to the people whose fault it is (the refs, the gods) so they redirect their anger towards the team.
Well if the league wanted people to like OKC then they should have called game 4 fairly. OKC benefitted from the refs’ actions, and Hali wouldn’t have torn his ACL if the series went to 5 or 6 with an Indy win like it should have
Homophobia
When you’re the best, people hate… no one gave a shit when we were winning 20 games… everyone hated Steph and the Warriors a decade ago but now everyone cherishes him. People will look back on this Thunder team and Shai with fondness in like 8-10 years
I’m with that but normally people just hate the team. People hate okc players individually. Now a solid amount of that is likely based on homophobia, xenophobia, and racism, but it’s still crazy to see so publicly.
…do you watch how they play on the court at all?
It’s how they seek and sell contact. + the commercial of what a pro wants. As people they’re relatively chill. But they get flack for having a favorable whistle
It’s funny you guys think a team that’s 17th in free throws that wins 64 games should be even lower in attempts.
I think it’s just Lu Dort that’s hated lol.
I know the league wants him as the face of the league, but lowkey villain of the league for a French dude fits so much better.
Josh Hart was also gonna ask for Wemby’s jersey, but he was already on the plane to Galveston 😞
Gonna need a spare jersey to wipe off that dirty-ass water.
I liked the play where he sent Wemby into the first row and flexed on him.
Wembys going to send him a biyombo jersey again next season. With biyombo still in it.
I spilled my morning coffee on my keyboard cuz of you
No you didn’t. You’re just parroting other Reddit comments that you saw get upvoted.
Somebody’s cranky!!
Yeah maybe. It’s just annoying when you can’t even open a thread about basketball without seeing the exact same “omg you made me [spit/spill/throw up] my coffee all over my [phone/keyboard/dildo]” that’s in every thread on Reddit because they don’t have anything useful or relevant to add but they still feel the need to tell an unfunny untrue anecdote for some reason.
He sleeps with the Bismacks
It’s wild that wemby is gonna have the league in a vice grip for the next decade and the whole league knows this guy is a dirt bag.
The league loves Kobe the rapist, Miles Bridges the abuser, and plenty more abusers. Can’t see why anyone would care about being liked by them.
[removed]
He managed to get half of Draymond’s career playoff flagrants in his first run and arguably should have had many more and in this case told Plumlee to commit a hard foul who took out McCain with a flagrant. You don’t call that dirty?
People don’t care cos it was against the thunder
he got his flagrants against the Wolves and Knicks but point taken.
you can tell just how talented wemby is when he pulls off a zaza and a metta world peace in 1 post season but they try their best to ignore it happening lmao
You must have not seen that zaza play to compare the two
he just dishing out what hes been getting.
How many flagrants were committed on Wemby exactly because he earned 3 points and should have got more.
How many fouls have been committed on him in total. Don’t wake up the Alien 👽
stick to gooning bro
Oh word, he’s been getting elbowed in the neck?
No but that’s only because nobody can reach his neck lmao
He got elbowed in the face moments before that elbow lmao
Wemby’s the first star to get roughed and played physical? Lmao Wemby’s soft as fuck
the entire league is soft as fuck, 90% of the time the other team got someone wrapping their arms around wemby like valentines day and the refs dont call foul, the hack-a-shaq and jordan rule is being applied to wemby and you guys only cherry picking moments that suits your narrative.
Victim Wembanyama.
Skip Bayless’ magnum opus
Its just funny how diabolical he is lmao.
The Big Flagrant
Foulin Monk and Silver Surfer are other slander nicknames I’ve seen lmao
Wemby about to kill this dude for sure now
here’s the hit in question plus another minute of ethical basketball
appreciate the compilation
His big alien ass thinks he could do it discreetly.
This needs to be at the top of the comments. Dirtiest team and player in the NBA
I’ve tried to post it here but mods took it down.
McCain’s brother looks so much like him crazy
Was gonna ask, was there a strange edit cause he was in the same shot twice! Are they twins? 🕺🕺
nah his brother is older
only likeable thunder player
Stop gaslighting yourselves that most of the thunder player are not likeable.
yeah I fw Jaylin Williams
SGA, J Dub, McCain, Caruso, etc all seem like genuinely good dudes. I just don’t like watching them play basketball. Fuck Dort tho
Dort is genuinely good dude as well as someone who’s met him multiple times
Then tell him to stop being a dirty player please and people will like him more
lol you don’t know this man, look at you trying to flex on the internet
I promise I wasn’t trying to flex, I’m just from the same neighborhood as Luguentz and close with one of his extended family members. I’m not tryna pretend like I’m best friends with the guy or anything I’ve just met him at a couple functions and he was super polite and chill
And yet he is a dirt bag any chance he gets, so maybe it’s possible for terrible people to be polite and civil in casual interactions?
i think you just don’t like how he plays basketball man. off-court dort is a treasure
Good people aren’t consistently terrible humans on the court, your brain has to be wired a certain way to constantly being trying to injure other people
I don’t know about Caruso being an okay dude, surely he goes in the same bracket as Dort? After seeing more of him these last two playoff runs, I don’t understand why he gets a pass for his dirty play but Dort doesn’t.
Dort is Haitian and French Canadian. Double French and dark skin he’s never getting a pass unlike Caruso’s white ass
“Stop gaslighting yourselves”
Is that what’s happening? What does this even actually mean?
I feel like people who use the word gaslight don’t even know what it actually means half the time. Is this gaslighting?
I think he meant fluorescent, idk
Convincing someone that something sn’t true is gaslighting, even if it’s yourself
I think you’re really confused, them as people vs them as players are two different things, i like some of them as both, but i suppose hate makes people’s judgement blurry.
Huh …?
They aren’t…they mostly are not likable
nikola topic?
u/NuuuDaBeast roots for cancer!
he said player
SGA is pretty likeable too, he just flops a little much
Off court sga is one of the most likable players in the league
I got a lot of respect to SGA after he won the championship and first thing he did was going to the Pacers locker room to talk to Hali.
The flopping is entirely why people don’t like him.
Yet people like Brunson who is one of the worst floppers.
He’s the king of New York he can do whatever he wants
It’s the flavour of the week. Spurs thunder series, wemby was the favourite player for this sub and could do no wrong. Knicks win and now Brunson is the goat and Wemby is villain that wants everybody dead. This sub flip flops to seem like they’ve always had that opinion
It might not be working
He wasn’t even in the top 10 for FTA during these playoffs
Brunson was a flopper until they changed the rules, now only SGA and Embid are allowed to flop.
who is one of the worst floppers.
Statistically false
I’ll take flopping over throwing a fit and having multiple flagrant fouls.
Exactly why so many people don’t like Luka either
Says the home of the Kalshi diva Mr. Trade-me-trade-me-nots. Lol.
Reddit cares way too much whether a player is likeable or not lmao. That Pacers squad was likeable because they were a bunch of nerds and someone likes Lego too
must be the smile.
Honestly more and more I blame Daignault. He’s gotta be the reason they all do this
The guy who just stands with his arms crossed most of the game? We literally have coaches like Nick Nurse screaming in refs ears Mark is not problematic at all.
Your entire team does the extra shit, the flopping etc. a lot of people blame SGA for that, I think it’s probably the coach - although I did not consider that it could be an assistant
Facts.
Jdub is probably the only likeable thunder player to me, Shai would also be in the conversation if his game wasn’t so focused on seeking contact, when he doesn’t go for the foul his game is nice, like in game 7.
he’s developed his own move for contact on drives even when no one is there, he’s just as bad
He’s likeable, he also throws elbows, which is why he had retaliation coming.
This is why I can never fully hate McCain
He’s kinda like a regular bro
He’s a fucking bum lmao. Social media player
If he plays like he did in the playoffs, he’d probably be your teams best player lol. Better to be a social media player than a Zionist
Wait so that was real? I thought people were just speculating that he put out a hit 😳😅
Jmac is a tiktoker, he’s very online so he probably knows about the internet talking about the hit on him. He’s just leaning into it lol
Damn so was that actually proven true? genuine question
Jared McCain is just leaning into the memes. Not saying Wemby didn’t do it but the only “verifiable” thing we got is an alternate angle where you have to read his lips.
Plumlee also told Jared he’d do it again. Doesn’t prove anything but shows they were at the very least out to get him
He said, “hard fouls” to Plumlee and Bismack. They didn’t try to take his knees out or anything, but definitely meant to make him feel it.
Yeah, Wemby saved those for the Finals
Right they didnt do anything ctazy like elbow guys in the throat, or grab them by the neck and thow them.
Nothing like that.
Others have said he told them “Have fun” which could have a double meaning
Why would he need to cover his mouth for that?
here’s the hit in question at the start of this video
Victor, ethical player clearly!
I love Jared’s little dance, I be practicing that shit in the mirror.
So it’s true. This pretty much confirms what Wemby whispered to his big guys checking in. What an asshole.
It got missed on here but apparently Plumlee told Jared that he had another one ready for him. I don’t know how this didn’t become a bigger deal after that
Not really lol, Jared McCain is probably just leaning into the memes
It’s insane how much the perception of Wemby amongst fans (and players, apparently?) has changed in one month.
Fuck Wemby for life
Fuck Victor
Wemby is a dirty player.
Anybody can act nice
Corny ass mf
So fruity gtf
I respect McCain’s skill and achievements. But those two girls seem more manly than him, lol.
It seems Wemby got everyone pregnant, since they have part of him growing inside them, all of them losers and their fanbases, also the New York Eunuchs still think it’s funny to beat a dead horse. They are all terrified and coping.
Idk man I’m pretty sure NY is still celebrating
Celebrating their pregnancy maybe, they won but they are thinking about Wemby all the time, it’s like trying to tarnish him is more important than the championship, same for the OKC, McCain cannot stop thinking about Wemby. We get it, you are insecure about everything related to him. Move on.
“We are insecure”
Wild coming from a dude writing entire paragraphs all over Reddit defending his team but OK lmao
Little man energy right here. Spin things how you need to see them to make sense of your profound dissonance, go ahead. We’ll still all be over here enjoying an amazing victory by an amazing squad.
This comment sounds like cope. Yall had the whole world behind you, then true colours showed, dirty plays, flipping and bad sportsmanship. Lost as many fans as you gained this post season.
He’s the only okc player I’ll ever like. Hopefully he leaves when his contract is up
Username matches the Downvotes lmao
Stop flopping so insanely bad it looks like you’re doing a burpee on the court and players might consider exchanging jerseys.
