Lebron after the Cavs win game 6 of the 2016 finals: ‘They f*cked up. Mentally and physically. I’m telling you, they f*cked up.’
the lebron documentary will be insane
Absolute cinema, his career feels like a fever dream in hindsight now that we are close to the end.
Any time now
It is 2030, Lebron is considering retirement next year and will discuss it with his family before the final decision.
He consults with Messi who is getting ready for his next World Cup, and Faker who promises to dedicate his Ninth Worlds title to LeBron.
chovy is never gonna win worlds until faker retires lmao
Chovy is gonna win worlds by going to T1 to play with Faker
He’s still signing max contracts with the Lakers too
Then declining Luka gets traded for prime Cooper Flagg or something
This ain’t gonna happen, but can you imagine if he flipped the script somehow and signed a vet minimum deal with OKC or NY?!?
Would prolly help KD sleep better if Bron took back the ring chasing mantle.
When you’re over 40 nobody can judge you for doing whatever it takes to win one. I remember rooting for that Gary Payton Karl Malone Lakers team just cuz I like HOF vets going out on top.
Rooting for Karl Malone is a choice lol
Pre-social media days made Karl Malone’s crime pretty hidden. Search engines weren’t that great and Wikipedia wasn’t that big either, you would have had to really search for that info. I’d give them the benefit of the doubt that they liked Malone enough as a player and rooted for him.
A LeBron hater’s worst nightmare: he plays 5 more years, retires for 1, then comes back as a coach for 30 years and becomes the LeBron James of coaching. LeBron James Jr. develops into a hall of famer in his own right and wins multiple championships with his dad as coach. Bronny retires as a player after 25 seasons and then also becomes a coach, meaning we have at least 60 more years of LeBron James dominating the league.
god i can only hope
From your lips to gods ear brother.
stop, I can only get so hard
Maybe 2033 to make it even
The fuckery has to end one day.
But not today
This fuckery won’t last much longer, right?
Everyone needs to enjoy the fuckery while it lasts. We won’t see fuckery like this again for a long long time.
Facts
Only thing left to do is a strong final push with the Warriors for ring #5
His career can easily span 24 episodes. You can even have multiple seasons for each team he’s been on.
Yeah maybe for basketball nerds lol. 6 to 8 episodes hold the attention of the general public
The Last Dance length is pretty perfect, agreed.
That doesn’t really work when your career is twice as long tho.
Have the initial release, then the extended edition drops for the diehards
He did invent the deluxe album
6 to 8 minutes is too much for the general public’s attention span, LOL
LeBrocumentary
Subtitle. A fuckery that can’t go on for much longer.
I got goosebumps just thinking about it man. I hope he goes out in a historic way and maybe helps a young team get a chip. Just for the selfish sake for how that doc would end.
If he just rejoins the cavs on the cheap or you basically do allen for bron he’ll get the story book ending.
I think its the only realistic possible situation for it because i dont see bron leaving cali unless its for the cavs
Bron on lakers or warriors is just a 2nd or conf finals exit
Are they making one?
They’d be a fool not to.
It’s a given
No way they wont after seeing success of Last Dance
I believe I read he’s had a camera crew following him for years but I may be mistaken.
There’s no way there isn’t a camera crew tasked with following Lebrons every moment outside of his private life for the eventual Lebron miniseries
Putting the money in the ceiling will be a great scene
this was prime lebron
10th year of his prime
I mean he was in his early 30s by that time, the fucker couldn’t go on for much longer… right?
Lebron is 30 40 just revived himself?, this fuckery won’t go on for much longer, thank god
I want to see one last fuckery really.
The only part in this years PO that made me sad was, to not see Luka supported by LeBron in PO mode. I mean he played like a valid 2nd option on a contender and was enough to elevate his team into 2nd round.
Yeah he obviously still has some fuckery left in him
Late stage fuckery
Every year was his prime. He was a star from the get go
2 years later was the best version of LeBron
Maybe offensively, but overall give me 2016 or 2013 Lebron.
LeBron in 4q / OT against the Pistons will always be my favorite version of him.
I got MJ 1 and Lebron 2
But “Lebronto” is no doubt the greatest player who ever lived. We’re the only team to get swept 4-2.
LeBronto was truly born the year after when the 1 seed bench mob Raptors got swept by the 4 seed LeBron + G-Leaguers squad
I remember we won our two games at home to tie it and LeBron basically said “it doesn’t matter.” And we all knew he was right.
“I been in some tight 2-2 series, this isn’t one of them”
Or something like that. Truer words never spoken.
Overall, there never was before or after a better version of LeBron than in Season 2017⁄2018 everything looked so easy to him like he mastered the game.
Agreed,it’s just because Lebron’s back was against the wall and he had to do literally everything so 2018 looks more Impressive but I don’t think I’ve ever seen a better basketball player than 2012-2013 Lebron
i feel like 2017 just gets forgotten here
but go look at those playoff numbers lmao it’s a fucking joke
33/9/8, 2 spg, 1.3 bpg, 65% TS
i’d argue 2015 lebron was one of the most underrated versions of him.
The fact that everybody has a different year for “the best version of LeBron” and it all kinda makes sense speaks volumes to his greatness and longevity
Second stint with the Cavs Bron is probably at his best. His physical peak was definitely heatles era, but his second run with the Cavs, I think is his best era, perfect analogy I heard was, if the NBA is a test, 2015-2019 LeBron had the answer key to the test.
…my mans is fuckin obscenely jacked here god damn lol. He’s built like a fuckin refrigerator. Not no shotgun apartment type shit with the top-freezer- like, one of the large-ass, suburbanite McMansion shits with the French doors
2012-2013 LeBron is the best basketball player I’ve ever watched play.
That Dahntay Jones right hand is wicked.
“What happened? What’d Klay say?” It was over then and there.
The journalist who asked that question should have gotten a ring.
Bill Livingston
Klay single-handedly destroyed his team lmao
I’m not sure, game 7 Harrison Barnes was complete ass
I’ve said it forever, there should be a statue of Harrison Barnes outside Rocket Arena
Steve Kerr should get one too. He completely shit the bed coaching that series.
When Barnes kept clanking jumpshots Kerr should’ve told him to go hard to the bucket and try to get fouled.
I love Steve Kerr as a human and a coach, but I can never be understand why he let Draymond cost them games with his temper. For someone coming from the Pop coaching tree, I expected more of Kerr. That Game 5 suspension was a turning point that was entirely avoidable
It’s his one defect as a coach. He has a blind spot for Dray. I stopped rooting for them after the JP incident.
TNT gave that idiot airtime to show a documentary where he spewed a bunch of word salad while not apologizing for the punch. then the team let him take part in ring night. at every turn the team has let that idiot off the hook for his behavior. Warriors fan and i always held the 2016 collapse on him but he could have won me back by learning from that mistake and controlling himself. to have the same guy who ruined an all-time season STILL doing dumb ish several times later, years after the fact? ridiculous
Game 7 everyone except Draymond was ass.
Man, Draymond racking balls for the nth time finally got his suspension was a big blow
That and I have to blame Kerr. Hear me out. Warriors were out Draymond and Bogut’ for game 5. Kerr should have punted that game and waited until he got Dray back. Instead Kerr overplayed everyone else. They were already injured, after that game 5 they never got their stamina back. Curry for sure loses Love if he’s not that haggard. Harrison won’t miss everything of he’s got his legs under him. Dray was the only fresh Warrior and he shined
Missing 2 rotation players is rough and Kerr should have done some serious load management.
Injured is a pathetic excuse. Everyone is hobbled by that time of the season
Not to mention the 2015 Warriors literally just won having to beat Lebron with his 2nd best player Matty Dellavadova because of injuries
Holy cope
Couldn’t punt game 5 because it went to half time tied up. The problem was letting Barnes take jumper after jumper instead of going at the paint.
What’s the context here?
Cavs down 1-3, post game conference Klay made a dig at LeBron. It came back to LeBron during his post game conference through a reporter and you can see something changed in LeBron. He “laughed” it off, declined to comment..then history happened
I always like Lebron saying that its so hard to take the high road and that he has been doing it for 13 years at that point in time, and that he is going to do it again.
I’m like this dude has discipline and mental strength like no other. Most people won’t be able contain themselves from talking trash if they was in his shoes.
Klay was always a front runner with his trash talk
And now will just hold up the number 4 anytime from the bench lol
Thanks!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NQNXw1gKt-o
Press conference after the Warriors went up 3-1. It sparked a fire in a sleeping giant. We all know how things went from there.
this
I am waiting for the greatest homage of all time:
“and I took that personally”.
Klay doesn’t make that comment and Warriors win lmao
That puzzle is actually a great idea, no one enjoys a half finished puzzle.
A decade later just today I learned via Cavs Instagram that it was actually James Jones that had that made
Yep who knew?!
Another reason it’s so great having vets on a team making a championship run like this. They really get the little stuff that an inexperienced team would have no idea about
I remember the game that LeBron got cramps in and Juwan Howard came out there and helped carry LeBron off the court. It was probably the most he had contributed to the entire season.
And of course since it helped win a championship it was inspired by Spo
Jones was inspired with the idea from his time with the Miami Heat. In 2012, Heat coach Erik Spoelstra unveiled a version of the trophy that was all black with every player’s name on it. They signed the trophy as a contract with one another, and after each playoff win, they added a mark in gold ink.
The last piece the shape of Ohio or was i just seeing shit?
Yeah, pretty neat
was this nba thing or Cavs
Cavs thing, for that playoff run
Absolutely. I didn’t know about that until now.
What’s this puzzle story? I’m OOTL
James Jones had it made as a motivation piece for the whole team. It’s the Larry O’Brien trophy broken into 16 pieces, since you need 16 wins to win a championship. After each win a different player got to put a piece of the puzzle in. LeBron was the 15th piece, and Ty Lue put in the 16th piece which was shaped like the state of Ohio
I need a badass deep-dive of a documentary on this Finals run, man.
Oh don’t worry, you’ll get a 20 hour special with 2 hours dedicated to that run
It’ll be the first time the 30 in ESPN’s 30-for-30 will mean 30 hours.
And I’ll be locked in for every second tbh.
I’ll watch it all
Not long enough
It will be like Jordan’s interview spread out all season in 5 min clips 😂
And ill watch every damn second
Netflix docu-series. 23 episodes, 1hr ea.
Instead os streaming it I’m going to inject every episode directly into the veins on my foot.
Honestly can’t wait to relive this in a extremely thorough doc
What’d you say Klay said?
What Klay say?
[removed]
I believe the transcript will support that
pah hehehehehe
Aw my goodness.
teheheheheh
Uh, I’m not gonna comment on what Klay said because I know where it can go from this sit-in. Um, teheheh, it’s so hard to take the high road. I’ve been doing it for 13 years and it’s so hard to continue to do it, but I’ma do it again.
That mean mug by Bron to Curry was really the nail to the coffin, I felt it was over for the Warriors when I saw that
“And tell Ayesha I want Curry chicken tonight”
The corny memes will live forever
People posted some wild shit after that game
All that was missing was Itsreal85 doing lip reading vids on it
Itsreal85 peaked way too early man, I loved those videos.
“If you shoot the ball, and your last name isn’t Anthony, I’m puttin your ass on the motherfuckin bench”
i’m glad he peaked when he did because my entire perception of chris bosh basically changed overnight with those videos
LeBron chuckled, “You mean the chaos emeralds?”
The crowd singing “hey hey hey, goodbye…” after Curry got ejected for throwing his mouthguard will always give me goose bumps.
God that shit was beautiful. Lebron was practically everywhere in that game. Now I’m getting chills too just thinking about it
What are you referring to? Video or picture of it?
Has to be [this](https://youtu.be/py0-l1M_870?si=ESVy3dliu2wGpyNQ)
I was living in San Francisco at the time and this series was absolutely bananas. As a certified GSW hater I was eating so good
I was in Oakland visiting family for game 5-7 Warriors Thunder, painful.
I might be imagining this but I remember another time too where LeBron was talking and it seemed like Curry was legitimately confused/taken back by what was said.
Goddamn i can’t believe that finals was 10 years ago now…
Pretty much yeah. Warriors kinda mental boomed in that game
Had Draymond begging for KD in the parking lot after Game 7.
This man had Steph, Klay, Draymond, and Iguodala banging KD’s door in the Hamptons screaming for help. He completely took the soul of a 73-9 team.
Still the biggest loser move of all time - to lose to them in the WCF and then go join them…a 73-9 team.
That 3 game stretch is just legacy defining for everyone in that locker room. It really is crazy how confident Bron was in this group to pull it off
JR Smith actually had a different legacy defining moment lol.
He wasted what was probably the best single game performance by an individual in NBA history, but they were not winning that series either way.
JR is one of the few “losing” players that managed to flip the script and become a coveted winning support guy. That’s his legacy.
Well, that and walking around without a shirt.
Nuggets JR dunks were insane
Nuggets JR would also get these heat flashes where he’d go four possessions in a row pulling up 3 feet behind the arc and nail all four shots.
He scored 8 straight points for the most important heat check of his life. He got to be exactly who he was and was exactly who they needed.
Very forgotten moment of the game. Especially because Golden State during those years was known for coming out of half time putting a game away but JR almost single handedly got that game tied up to even become the long stalemate we all know
JR was a winning player throughout his career. Key contributor to a nuggets team that made the conference finals, 6th man of the year for the 2 seed Knicks, starter for nba champion cavs. Also one of the most fun players to watch, win or lose. One boneheaded play is only his legacy to casual fans who don’t know how good he was
And now being a D1 golfer
I mean idk, if jr didn’t hit those 3s in g7 gsw probably wins.
If he doesn’t fuck up 2018, it’s not a guarantee they even win that game, and if they do they still lose in 5.
Now that you bring that up, i wish JR did what he did in 2018, in 2016 g7 instead lol. Imagine the reactions
If I were to walk up to you on the street and you’re not thinking about basketball and I just say “JR Smith”.
Are you thinking of those 3s? Or are you thinking about the game clock?
I’m thinking “why tf this random dude come up to me and just say ‘JR Smith’?”
Fuckin fair answer lol
I’m going to assume you’re asking me if I want some Henny tbh
“If you don’t think we can win this series, then don’t get on the fucking plane” - Lebron when down 3-1
Something I realized after re-watching… Draymond went 5⁄5 from 3 in the first half of game 7, and the Cavs as a team were 1-14 from 3. Absolutely insane that it ended up the way it did
Draymond almost single handedly carried them to that win. He was making all their plays on both sides of the floor.
well i think the cavs didn’t want anyone else to take the 3 in sure they could live with draymond taking all those open 3s but not the splash bros
In an alternate reality, Draymond wins FMVP on two factors:
His Game 7 performance - still an unreal stat line.
Funny enough, the suspension. His absence in Game 5 showed how valuable he was to the franchise that season.
I’m obviously biased, but I don’t think the suspension would have been as big as a factor as the cavs attacking Steph Curry on every single possession. They constantly went after him on offense and had a guy shadowing him on defense, doubled him, etc. The entire strategy was to shut him down and make his teammates win the game. Draymond was just the one that showed up the most. Even then I remember people saying in the post game 5 thread that LeBron won’t go for 40 when Draymond comes back, only for LeBron to go for 40 in game 6.
JR Smith hit a huge 3 in the third quarter to quell the momentum the Warriors had. One of the more underrated shots
he had some really nice shots. Also had an extremely JR-esque bone-headed 2 on 1 pass that was a disaster lol
i will never forgive kevin durant for fucking that rivalry up
we lost out on what could’ve been 3 years of this
Man I need the 30 for 30 on this championship so bad.
The two weeks between the Cavs winning Game 7 and KD signing with the Warriors on July 4th were pure bliss for LeBron fans.
We should bring back KD hate for ruining one of the best rivalries in NBA history and the league for 2 years. With all the shit he’s gotten, I still don’t think it’s enough
Crazy how confident Bron was
I feel like I’ve never seen that puzzle until now.
The last piece being in the shape of Ohio was a nice touch
Wow I didn’t even notice that! Good catch!
I was thinking the same thing. Wonder who the last piece was or maybe it was an all together thing.
16 pieces for every playoff win. 15 for players and the last one was Ty Lue I believe. It’s on the Cavs Insta with James Jones
https://www.reddit.com/r/nba/comments/4p5uss/the_cavs_had_a_16_piece_puzzle_made_of_the_nba/
And they say bron don’t got a Kobe mentality he broke the greatest team alive
2016-2018 LeBron is the best player to ever exist
Jesus you still have to win a G7 on the road man… bron is insane.
I always wonder why was he SO CERTAIN about those statements
it’s not in front of the press or tv, he can say whatever he wants, no one is gonna air these films if they lose
Ty lue bron merchant
That’s what leadership looks like. Not punching somebody in the face or talking about, ya know, Hoping the gym burns down with all your teammates inside of it. You know normal leadership tactics
And then they got KD. Cowards
LeGOAT
Lebron hate at this point is like Star wars hate. Mostly it comes from a personal place of anger.
Imagine what magic Johnson would have had to dealt with if social media was around back in the day.
L
That ain’t nothing, imagine being Jerry West. You lose 6 finals in a row to Boston and in the 6th one you get MVP after losing.
I mean Osama bin Laden’s translator criticized Lebron for leaving for Miami. Obviously Lebron made a bad PR decision… but a literal terrorist thought he had the moral high ground on a basketball player
He was absolutely right. The injuries to bogut, curry, and iguodala really defined the latter half of that series.
What’s this from? Streaming anywhere seems like it would be a sick documentary
It’s been a decade. My goodness 😭
oh wow the final piece being ohio was pretty cool. they had some big brained working for them with the puzzle concept
He would know this best too bc of the decision followed by 2011. What a great sports moment. We saw LeBron have to eat his own words, and he came back better and did it to Klay and the 73-9 warriors. Unbelievable, this is why we watch sports
His most impressive championship.
It’s a man’s game lol
There are lots of interviews of the Cavs this year as they’re celebrating their 2016 run.
It’s insane listening to them tell the story and you really get a sense of how epic the whole run was and how everything needed to line up.
Here’s Channing’s recent one https://youtu.be/tuknCozmCUw
RJ has interviews with a lot of the Cavs in his new podcast.
Watching this really makes you understand the value of experience when it came to the Spurs. They might have won it this year…maybe, but 95% of scenarios they would never. It just seemed so inevitable their “collapse”.
There’s just an insane level of emotional resilience you need and mental fortitude combined with skill and luck. Watch the Channing interview.
Even tho I know how this ends, I can’t wait for a documentary to cover these. Been enough time to where I can stand back and watch with amazement how Bron came back and led to the win. Actually insane that they pulled it off the way they did
Someone in that Locker room was boiling over with jealousy. Lol
Bron really broke the Warriors and forced them into getting KD. They went from loveable champs to instant villains.
He’s buff here. Prime LeBron.
Once Bogut got hurt it was over. No interior defense at all
Im’ waiting for the CCTV footage of Draymond crying in the parking lot calling Durcant
So dope! I wish we had this kind of footage for Russell and West
Like the movie major league where they stripped the cut out of the owner lol
