I always believed and never understood the hate. He had a 60% win record and made the playoffs every year he coached for the whole season. The only seasons he missed were when the Cavs drafted Anthony Bennett and his year with the Kings where they went 46-36 and were only the 10th seed.
Didn’t think he’d get them chugging to a title, but definitely thought he was at the very least one of the ten best coaches in the league.

Reform has been pushed for 50 years. Longer, actually. People have pushed for it since cops bashed union protesters heads at the turn of the 19th century, since they abused suffragettes, since they turned hoses on civik rights marchers, since the Watts Riots, since Stonewall, since the LA riots, since Sirpaco, since May Day, since George Floyd. Reform comes too slow, infrequently, and with a massive amount of push-back.
Yeah, murder and corruption and miscarriages of justice are bad. In fact, they are really bad. A stain on this country’s honor and ideology. And when it’s someone you know who’s been gunned down for no reason or nabbed by ICE for the color of their skin or not believed after they’ve been raped, you’d be a little more pissed off, too.
