I was at the game! – During warmups he was struggling with his shot and fiddling with his right, injured hand constantly (2 makes to 1 miss was the pattern, all the other guys were making 5-6 in a row before missing), saw him get frustrated and slap the ball away. Told my girlfriend I was worried he might have a stinker. Peter Patton seemed to be reassuring him and trying to lift his spirits.

Rough first quarter, seemed like he was still shook from the game 4 ending.

Then he just turned it around 180, fantastic rest of game. Awesome to see

His 3 point shot was struggling in the playoffs (~30%) before the finals. In the finals he went back up to 40% but that was mainly from Game 3 and 5 - Games 1 and 2 he was really off and game 4 was low volume. If he and Mikal can become more consistent then a 2nd ring isn’t out of the question.

It’s beautiful that we got 4 wins and we got the hart game (game 1), we got the mikal game (game 2, Brunson and Kat on the bench in the 3rd and Mikal gets bucket after bucket running offense through him, we got the OG game (game 4), we got the Brunson game (game 5), and towns just played consistently great basketball whenever he was afforded some leeway by the officials.

Every starter showed that not only is this team just great from top to bottom, but each one of them has the capability to step up and put the team on their back when it matters most.

The Finals in particular was really a revolving door of who is gonna play well, both game to game and quarter to quarter. KAT was constantly in foul trouble but had an absurdly good +/-. Brunson was inefficient for most of the series but led most of our fourth-quarter come backs and obviously was the entirety of our offense in game 5. OG was actually inefficient for most of game 5 but was a fucking rock on both ends. Mikal went up and down with his scoring, and our bench guys basically took turns being the hero. I could go on but this run was truly a team effort in every conceivable way
