For me it’s one of the most fascinating cases of online propaganda that I’ve seen in ages.

The cherry picked clips, the editorialized titles, the clickbait articles, the social media posts.

There are people who will swear up and down that the Thunder were dirtier than the Spurs, fouled more than the Spurs and got the benefit of the whistle against the Spurs, and that they saw it all with their own eyes.

When in reality maybe 8% of the people actually watched the games in full.

When people tell me that “there’s no way Russia could’ve influenced our elections via social media campaigns,” I know they have no clue what they’re talking about.

To me, the difference was at a minimum, it was aesthetically pleasing to watch them play. I physically dislike *watching* OKC even from a basketball perspective. So there’s hate combined with genuine indifference to their existence, combined with preference for something else. It’s dislike for the game itself and the outcome. Whereas for like the KD warriors it was dislike of the outcome. But the product on the court was objectively some of the best basketball ever played.
