Fox is catching way too much slack and blame for what was a collective team disaster by spurs.
I feel a bit bad for fox to shoulder 80 % of the blame for what I saw as a team completely choking and giving up.
Game 4 fox made a dumb play and we know it, but what about the spurs shooting ill- advised 3s again after again and not being smart with the basketball..
One adjustment which is not talked about enough, is wemby switching onto brunson in iso and not being able to guard brunson in isolation. That sparked the knicks comeback because they kept on switching wemby onto brunson and let brunson do his magic. Same shit happening in game 5 as well.
Then wemby being extremely passive in the 2nd half for pretty much every game of the finals. Game 4 wemby bricked 8 fgs in a row and bricked both free throws, but fox gets more blame?
When wemby wins, he is the GOAT, but when he is unable to lead the team and take over, its suddenly fox’s fault and he is just young? Let the convo flow both ways.
Castle shot 1⁄10 today and bricked fts. Dylan was good whole game 5 but choked with the fts in the end as well.
This series wasnt on fox or mitch johnson, it was on the entire spurs roster starting from wemby till the bench players. It feels like fox is made the scapegoat for this finals loss and even though I do think he played horrible, this is just a collective team collapse.
