[Highlight] Josh Hart: “Forget them picks man, we here!”
Rams: “They copied my whole flow word for word, bar for bar”
“Oh Shit!” “Oh Shit!”
tell meeeeee what’s really going on
We got Knicks winning the championship before gta 6
We don’t need GTA 6 we got GTA 5
” “”- Rockstar “ - Bethesda
We don’t need GTA 5, we got Jose Alvarado.
FUCK TRAE YOUNG.
GIVE THE NETS MORE PICKS.
Tip em a second rounder!
Take them to nice dinner, make out in car and fucking them picks!
As Clique once said, “Fuck then picks! I could die tomorrow!”
What picks is he referring to
Knicks had to give up 5 future first round picks from the Mikal Bridges trade.
The PG version lmaooo
He had to be. I mean his son was next to him. 😂
“ear muffs” would have been surreal
Knowing Josh he would’ve covered his own ears than said it
If you can’t hear them they can’t hear you
The CeeLo Green edit
Exactly what I thought lmao
Dad filter enabled
Taking inspiration from CeeLo Green
THIS IS WHAT YOU GET WHEN YOU MEET A STRANGER IN THE ALPS!
hes not remotely wrong.
knicks instantly won the mikal bridges trade, they won the kat trade. every thing that brought them here was the correct move
dont forget OG
The OG trade was a heist for the knicks regardless of how they did in the playoffs this year
I’ll give push back on this. Toronto actually couldn’t keep OG. He was gone no matter what because Toronto couldn’t offer 40 million due to contract limitations.
Plus RJ was Toronto’s 2nd or 3rd best player in the playoffs. IQ is statistically at the exact level of his contract. Not great, but still a starter.
Toronto would rather have OG. But since he was all but guaranteed to be gone, getting 2 starters isn’t terrible.
OG is basically the perfect guy to put on any team. Plays amazing defense, hits 3s, super strong and good at finishing at the rim, and can do a little bit of stuff offensively inside the arc. Quickley and Barrett are both decently good players but OG’s just significantly more valuable.
The raptors could’ve traded other guys away or something to make room but really if they thought it might come to a situation like that they should’ve traded him earlier when they likely could’ve gotten a better offer.
You don’t understand. OGs contract extension would have been something like 24million with the Raps. So he was going to get significantly more in free agency.
The Raps also underperformed with him on the team. It was pretty much a given he was going to NY.
OG wanted to stay but he wanted to be a bigger part of the offense which we were never willing to relent on. We gave GTJ a bigger role in the offense than him even though he just gambled for steals on defense while OG was guarding the best player. The last straw was Vanvleet leaving and us immediately picking up RJ/Quickley which again slotted him back into the 4th or 5th option spot. Schroeder took more shots than him and it was a wrap.
We made all those decisions. The free agency part is honestly meaningless because we could have gotten more value trading him earlier OR just believed in him and re-signed him with his rights as a free agent.
The only reason he went to New York is because they promised him he’d get to be 3rd or higher on the offensive chart, and thats right where he is.
Og is essentially the greatest possible role player. I wouldnt be surprised if hes like jrue holiday just jumping on good teams and turning them into contenders. Ive never seen him miss a clutch shot
I thought he was overpaid because he’s a role player paid like a star.
That was really really dumb of me.
We could not extend OG for what he was worth (and going to get).
If we couldn’t extend that meant he’d be a unrestricted free agent. Given that scenario there was no way to guarantee to keep OG. We were allegedly offered 3 kinda shitty picks for him the season before (like 18-26 range). The Dubs wouldn’t trade Kuminga for him.
They couldn’t extend him because the max extension was less than what he would take.
Could’ve re-signed him with bird rights in free agency of course, but he had long had his mind set on the Knicks, and had a close relationship with Leon Rose as a client at CAA.
The well had already been poisoned a year before we traded him essentially, which is brutal for the Raps because he and Scottie are the ideal frontcourt pairing.
Couldn’t keep OG and RJ/IQ are miles better than the other offers. Everyone was talking bullshit about Masai overrating his guys and then they leave and suddenly the rest of the league goes, huh, wait, maybe that guy is that good.
Agreed, it also seemed like OG wanted out of Toronto at that point too
Yeah, writing was on the wall. The fact we got a return instead of losing him for nothing (FVV) was excellent. And now we watch our Prince win a ring as a genuine leader on the floor.
This right here. Win or lose. That was a good trade.
I know it’s lame to say “What ifs” but Raptors this year took Cavs to G7 without IQ and half of the team injured, I would say if IQ was Healthy the spacing would be much better and they could have take out Cavs? I don’t think that trade is all that bad?
They won the trade immediately after it happened.
Even hiring Mike Brown after firing Thibs. Firing him was the right move but they didn’t pull a Bucks and hire Adrian Griffin.
I have never reversed opinion on someone in pro sports as hard as I have this past year on Mike Brown. I thought he was an uninspired hire whose whole personality was being a corny dad and that he would underperform relative to Thibs, never in a million years did I expect him to be an utterly inspiring leader of men or a tactical genius coaching circles around former COTYs. Thankfully Leon knows ball better than I ever will.
I followed the Kings pretty closely when Brown was hired there. That team significantly overperformed. After he was hired he turned a 30 win team to a 48 win team, went on to win 46 games the next year and then was fired very early into season 3 which I think was very unfair. Brown is a big reason the ‘beam team’ meme exists.
Honestly though, that org is going nowhere so it was probably fortunate he got himself out of that situation.
sweet revenge on Fox who was probably an influence in him getting axed
he was an awesome assistant for us, really happy for him
I think what makes Mike Brown good is that he knows how to put together a staff of smart people, and he has the humility to actually listen and implement what they come up with. He doesn’t need to be a tactical genius himself to be a great HC.
He doesn’t need to be one, but he definitely was a tactical genius on this playoff run. He completely reinvented the Knicks offensive system multiple times through the rounds; everyone thought playmaker hub KAT was a secret weapon hidden just for the playoffs, but Brown developed so many different looks that they didn’t need to go to that system at all in the finals.
Brown did a hell of a job with the Kings too. They were pretty lucky he was available. He took a 30 win team to 48 wins the next season and the moment things got rocky in season 3 he was canned. Wonder how much Fox had to do with him getting ousted? I know he wasn’t happy.
Hard to argue with results, Coach Mike “remember how you felt as you lost” Brown https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GdnlXUHVN4c
Leon Rose the Don
Leon is basically a miracle worker. Not only does he know what he’s doing, but he has to manage up into James Dolan, a notorious nepobaby meddler billionaire who has no fucking clue what he’s doing.
Also, helps that Damien Lillard to Bucks with Giannis didn’t work out, Tatum and Haliburton both got injured. They had two sweeps going into NBA finals vs a Spurs who just came from a 7 game series vs the reigning champs OKC. This was Knicks’ best chance to win the chip and they sealed the deal. Personally, I felt like the Knicks had a better chance of winning vs Spurs than OKC so I was really excited for them when OKC got eliminated by Spurs. Will the Knicks win again next year? Will they make to back to finals again? Who knows… but they’ll go down in history as the champs and the banner will be hanging there in MSG forever. Thats all what matters.
Sometimes taking bold steps is necessary to elevate a team.
Pretty much how it works. Same thing in football with the Rams decision to trade Goff for Stafford. They won so it was the right choice.
GTA Trade. Leon Rose went on a 6 year generational run as a GM.
Whoops I thought he meant the pick they had to forfeit for tampering
Kind of wild to see 3 members of that Nova team on an NBA championship team.
“Winning a championship means never having to say you’re sorry”
Yeah it’s not like I can say that Bridges played so well this playoff run that it was worth it. But when you win the title nothing else really matters.
He definitely had some big games
Last year too against the celtics, both games 1 and 2 he had steals on the final celtics possession in one possession games
He has some GOATed defensive plays that series that will definitely play in the Spike Lee joint about this championship team
I need that, now.
Oh im ready for that. Is it real?
I think it’s hypothetical, but Ben Stiller is making one for HBO - He’s been shooting footage for it from courtside with his phone.
Fred Katz (best sportswriter working, IMO) is writing a book about this Knicks team too, and it just got a fairytale ending.
I honestly think he had a great game last night. Not to mention being a regular season iron man goes a long way to keeping your team afloat through bad times.
This wasn’t his series but he stepped up for buckets for a couple of stretches when the knicks were cold. He was also huge in earlier series. And I know you didn’t include it but he was huge last year and it’s a process.
Fuck them picks
He was great against Philly
Bridges’ value always came from both his defense and his stability on offense. He’s not gonna go ham and drop 40 but will consistently contribute double digits and score buckets even when the team is on a cold stretch
And his iron man status, never misses a game.
Should have traded more picks
It wasn’t. But second leading scorer tonight and we don’t get game 2 without him
you mustve not watched the playoff run. He had one of the best playoff shooting percentages ever
Bridges defense was make or break, especially when we are talking 1 point games.
Mikal played absolutely lights out from game three of the hawks through the ECF, and he played well tonight and game 1 or 2 (I can’t remember).
Game 2 he had a nice run. The scoring wasn’t always there this series but he was a key defender and he actually did alright tonight when no one other than Brunson was generating anything.
he didn’t shine as much in the finals but he had big moments and good efficiency throughout the rest of our run.
He was an absolute monster in the Eastern Conference Finals, and that alone makes the trade worth it.
His defense was crucial. Vassell, Fox, Champagnie, Castle and Harper are a lot to deal with. It took a lot to contain them. What he does/did won’t always show up on a stat sheet.
His performance in Game 2 changed the series. That was the most egregiously reffed game – genuinely the worst reffed Finals game in living memory – with Brothers basically trying to hand it to the Spurs. But Bridges going nuclear in the third quarter gave the Knicks enough separation that they withstood it.
This is the best finals interviews I’ve ever seen lol
Highly likeable group.
hart has come a long way from being that guy who bough a switch from a redditor but didn’t immediately pay to being such a good contibutor into this championship
bro asked for tickets to the Kobe jersey retirement game in exchange for a Nintendo switch
And he also invited him to his wedding lmao
I mean he did pay immediately right? Just not the tickets, prolly learned he didnt have as much sway as he thought he did. Too bad he didnt go to the wedding tho
yea my bad
lol the wedding invite.
people were with OP until he got weird with the invite
Lol its a bit weird but I mean hell of a wedding story if he came. All in all, nothing crazy, Hart over promised a little but came through in the end and for sure shouldve communicated it better.
The funniest thing I remember about Josh Hart is that when NBA TopShot was in full force in like 2020, someone gifted him some special moment of himself with all this fanfare, and then he immediately sold it.
Anybody with Common sense could see that NFTs were a scam.
Yep.
OG, Brunson, and KAT - I’ve liked everything I have seen from them this series.
And was kinda bummed out how many Knicks fans were at every San Antonio game. Wish we packed it out with support.
But I’m glad the Knicks folks were there for their win.
Also I can’t dislike anyone who boo’s Adam Silver. We have too much in common.
My conspiracy is Fox wants out of San Antonio. Sacramento and San Antonio might be the two worst cities for a rich nba player
Usually not a conspiracy theorist but Game 4 I was genuinely like “does he have money on the Knicks?”
Facts. Y’all got some likable guys on the team.
But also Ernie being so good at his job.
The contrast of having probably the most likeable players paired with the most unlikable fanbase is striking.
As long as we agree that Dolan doesn’t count
So you know who likes to insert themselves into celebrations and loves parades?
Sorry Knicks fans, he is going to ruin it for you.
He is also 100% going to walk off with the trophy.
So in F1 terms he’s like the MBS of the Knicks. Gotcha. 😂
That is so fucking accurate
Mike Brown barking who let the dogs out for a minute lol
Helps to have Ernie instead of Rachel Nichols
100%
All planned besides Brunson lol
Insane that all of the key players came from elsewhere and weren’t drafted or developed by the Knicks. Such a unique roster building route. Hart is right!
Thank you guys so much.
Thank you too! Each got what we needed, and it worked out well for Kat. Have to feel good as a Wolves fan about it
Rooting for you guys in the west forever. Get a point guard. Get rid of Randle. Meet you in the finals.
Haha let’s hope, my worry is they go after someone like Ja
Didn’t Brunson give up a big chunk of his salary to make that possible? I may have misheard that, but they said it on the broadcast. If that’s true, the dude deserves a statue in NYC.
He signed his max available deal. If he waited another year he would have made even more but naturally there’s an injury concern when doing that
and now he’s gonna be a FA at age 31 and get another huge contract.
If he takes the later deal, he gets more money initially BUT becomes a FA at age 33…much harder to get another huge deal at that age as a short PG.
He took his max, but if he took the max 1 year later the contract would have been like 150m bigger.
Basically took the max available at the time with an expectation that the Knicks will do him right in a future contract
also if the Knicks failed to win a chip during the deal he signed but he was still obviously a super star he’d be hitting FA at 31 instead of 33
Sign your godson in free agency, then trade for his college teammates. Probably not a route many teams will be able to replicate.
With all of the players being players kids and random schools like Rutgers putting guys out there it’s not as far fetched as it sounds lol
Hey, I’ll give Mitch Rob the title of key because that late offensive board put the Knicks into the best position down the stretch.
Mitch Robinson is the only one left from the old teams (pre-Brunson era).
FUCK THEM PICKS
This literally just happened. How??
The Flash is working overtime lol
I was watching the clip and this on tv at the same time
Half the people who post these clips work for media companies and have access to real time broadcast clipping tools.
F THEM PICKS🗣️
How long until the 2nd apron hits this team bruh
Next season if front office wanna keep Shamet and or Mitch
We can lose Shamet. We can’t lose mitch. :(
Was reported Dolan and front office are willing to bring both back and go into second apron.
Guess we’ll see, hope they’re both here next season
For all Dolans faults, spending money has never been one
Who cares freeze our pick.
Yep can’t break them up after a chip
Fuck them picks and fuck them salary cap aprons
Mitch got the biggest rebound in Knicks history in front of Wemby
True
Jesus. I don’t know basketball financials at all and I thought this was a 9⁄11 joke.
it essentially is
\(16M under the second apron with 9 guys under contract. Mitch and Shamet may be gone. Alvarado has a \)4.5M PO I think he picks up.
FUCK THEM PICKS!
Pat, are you listening? FORGET THEM PICKS PLEASE
fuck them picks lmao
They’re the antiPresti
Hey man both worked back to back years lol
Trail Blazers legend Josh Hart
I remember being excited we got him. From the Lakers, I believe.
He was part of the AD trade. I remember commenting on how I wish we could have kept him instead of Kuzma because he’s the kind of player every championship team needs.
Bro thinks he’s on the Rams
not just Bridges, the league took away a 2nd round pick from Knicks for signing Brunson because papa works for coaching staff…
What an amazing friend. He gets the microphone in one of the biggest moment in his life, and he uses it to uplift a friend.
Yup
Can someone catch me up to what this means lol is it all the picks Knicks gave away to acquire all our players
Knicks traded the equivalent of 7 draft picks (5 firsts, 1 second, and a swap) for Mikal Bridges and everyone thought it was the overpay of the decade, even more than the Rudy Gobert trade. At least Gobert had won multiple DPOYs.
thank you
Some random 8th grader just caught a stray
You on time machine my bruh?
They need to get donte back man
Unreal man so happy right niw
Tbh with the way the lottery is won now fuck them picks is becoming a viable strategy
FUCK THEM PICKS!!!
FUCK THEM PICKS. BANNERS ARE FOREVER.
Jason Tatum: “WRITE THAT DOWN!”
FUCK DEM PICKS‼️‼️‼️🧡💙🗽
I’ll forget the pics but I’ll never forget him tryna poke Brunsons brown eye on TV
Give them 5 more while we’re at it!!
Does Patrick Ewing get a ring?
Yo im just glad Josh Hart got a ring I miss this dude good for the knicks man
real as shit
Ironically Nets will likely require more picks to take on Fox’s nasty ass contract
One of the only teams that can absorb negative assets.
Josh “Les Snead” Hart.
Joe Dumars seeing this quote, slapping his hands together 👏
The amount of restraint to say forget
Josh always the big bro having Mikal Bridges back to the end
the pressure is off Bridges forever … I hope that means he can get out of his own head from here on out
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 josh is hilarious
HECK THEM PICKS
what picks
The 5 first round picks that were traded for Mikal Bridges.
Knicks fans often go “Fuck them picks.” every time he has a good game and shows why the team traded for him.
I love it
Lmao damn
Man Fuck J̶a̶y̶ Z̶ them picks, give me 5̶0̶0̶k̶ a championship
It’s confirmed hart is a rams fan!
Omg I only just realised what he meant duhhhh
Who needs picks when you got rings!
FUCK THE PICKS!!!!
Hope they say the real, unsaid quote during the parade.
Can someone please explain what this means to someone who doesn’t know what a pick means lol
Every year in the NBA draft you pick new players from a pool of guys leaving college and other players not in the NBA. Those are draft picks
The Knicks traded a bunch of their future picks to get Mikal Bridges. Mikal isn’t exactly a superstar so a lot of people were hating on the trade, but they won a title so fuck them picks
ANOTHER GOLDEN QUOTE
FUCK THEM PICKS AND FUCK THE NETS
Can someone explain?
His kid immediately looks like him (I know genetics, but this is uncanny).
F DEM PICKS! F DEM PICKS!
“Let me talk to you about your picks man.
I dont give a shit about your picks.”
Brock Lesnar probably.
Their trades were hella impressive. Spurs got lucky with their draft picks the last 3 years and are in the top cohort of teams now because of it. Knicks carefully crafted their team through trades and synergy
