This is the only reason why I haven’t given completely up. Being down 3-1 usually means that one team is dominating, but thats not the case here. Two games were decided by one point, either team could have won those games.

The Spurs have a better chance than most teams down 3-1 to come back and win. I am not delusional More than likely the Knicks win the series, they are a good team and I really dont have anything negative to say about them( unlike okc, fuck okc)

Every game has been competitive and full of ridiculous and amazing moments.

Analytically, the Spurs should be up 3-1 and closing out the Finals at home on Saturday. The gave away 2 wins in inexplicable ways in the finals minutes. In all of the games, the Spurs had double-digit leads in the 1st quarter. I’m not a Knicks homer. I know this Spurs team is big, fast, and talented, and they play great defense. The Knicks’ advantages are the better head coach and veteran experience. Knicks just need to squeeze out one more win in 3 games.

It’s takes time to learn from experience and it’s difficult to improve the mental quality in the middle of a series. If they can finally figure out how to keep a lead in a high pressure game, Spur may actually have chance to win 1-2, and a very low chance to squeeze out 3 wins, but I am totally not optimistic because it’s rare and difficult, almost a miracle. Spurs keep surprising me this whole season though.

I’d put a majority of the blame on Mitch tbh. And its not even his fault per se, he’s done as good a job as you can reasonably expect a young coach to do with this roster.

If you told the front office at the end of last season about the leap Castle would make, how good Harper would be, etc., no way do they stand pat on the current bench and probably would have hired an experienced coach.

Regardless of whether this ends 4-1 Knicks or 4-3 Spurs, I know that objectively this series has been lit as fuck. I’ll take zero comfort with being on the losing end of what could be considered the closest 4-1 series loss in Finals history, but I agree with you that none of us watching now will remember this series as a lopsided annihilation.

The Spurs are a -28 in the last two quarters of game action in this series.

Game 1 was close till the Knicks pulled away and won by 10.

Game 2 was a double digit deficit for the Spurs until the refs tried to help and will them back into the game with phantom fouls on KAT and straight up swallowing the whistle on the Spurs.

Game 3 saw the refs ignore two flagrant fouls by the Spurs that would’ve changed the entire complexion of the game.

And game 4 was explained in the first paragraph. Spurs and its fans need something to hold onto I guess
