[Highlight] Last 5.7 seconds of Game 4 filmed by Ben Stiller courtside
It’s hilarious how much of a legit Knicks fan Ben Stiller is. Dude live tweets during the games and responds to randos lmao
He also lowkey seemed like he had some shame admitting he wasn’t actually paying for his seats lol
Look you make Zoolander and you shouldn’t have to pay for seats.
On the other hand you make Zoolander 2 and you should have to pay double.
Good thing Zoolander came out first so double of zero is still zero
Damn, that’s math.
Dude went to the Center for Kids Who Can’t Read Good and Who Wanna Learn to Do Other Stuff Good Too
My mom always told me I was smart
250k times 0 is 0, times 2 that’s 0, quick maffs
big brain
But…why male models?
Are you serious? I just told you that, a moment ago…
But can he turn left?
Funny tid bit about that scene…..Ben Stiller forgot his line and simply repeated the earlier line again, and David Duchovny ran with it and gave him a straight answer.
/r/moviescirclejerk
I avoided Zoolander pretty much my whole life up to a point, but would see this all the time on Reddit (knowing where it came from). I literally thought there was no way that line was so funny that people used it all the time. Like I couldn’t conceptualize it.
I’m so happy I was wrong hahahaha. Like unbelievable timing.
It’s ok he made it up by making severance
And if you make tropic thunder?
Simple Jack should get courtside seats for life.
But he also made Tropic Thunder
I think that is common for “celebrity row”. I read somewhere and it said that they give free courtside seats to well known Knick fan A-listers, but they have to follow specific rules or they will get their seats revoked.
(They have to stay the whole game no matter win or loose, stand up in clutch moments yell and be energetic, occasionally wear knick branded items when told, rile up the crowd when showed on the jumbotron)
https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/49022343/new-york-knicks-madison-square-garden-celebrity-row-unwritten-rules
If a celebrity meets the requirements, they get free courtside seats. They have to stay for the whole game, must be Knicks fans, can’t ever talk shit about Dolan/MSG/Knicks.
It would be incredibly difficult to not talk shit about Dolan, but for courtside seats I think I could keep those thoughts to myself.
I would recognize JD and the Straight Shot as the defining musical talents of our era.
Their early work was a little too new wave for my tastes, but when ‘Can’t Make Tears’ came out in 2011 I think they really came into their own commercially and artistically. The whole album has a clear, crisp sound, and a new sheen of consummate professionalism that really gives the songs a big boost.
Respect for Spike for not accepting them for free and paying for them.
Dude has probably dropped millions watching guys like Ron Baker, Langston Galloway, Frankie Ntilikina, and Cleanthony Early stink it up for years.
If they win, he deserves a ring.
Why you got hate in your heart for the Wichita State Wheatshockers? For every Cleanthony Early or Ron Baker, you get one Dave Stallworth or Landry Shamet.
Also, Cleanthony Early night never have been anything anyways, but dude got shot early in his career. Like, shot with a gun.
I will never stand for Ron Baker slander
Espn published a whole article about it today in fact.
Yea but he was specifically asked about his season tickets from Chuck lol I think that’s why I noticed it because Chuck was giving him respect for being a ticket holder since the 90’s and he had to sheepishly go “ya.. no…sorry” lol
Bro gets free 5-6 figure seats and his only requirement is just to be a good fan. wtf
Well you might get some certain celebrity that makes a big deal about going, inconveniences a lot of people by doing it, then falls asleep during the game
And then leaves early, don’t forget
Well, he also has to be famous and available for promotional material which probably isn’t too far off the cost of the seats in relative value.
So I guess DJ Khalid won’t be getting any more tix?
Someone on X said he’s filming a documentary. If that’s the case then I kinda get it and man as long as we close out I absolutely can’t wait for it
Yeah Page Six reportedhe’s filming one and he said he’s working on a project with the footage
He’s a better man than me, if Dolans wants to hand out free tickets to feed his ego I’d be lining up everyday.
It’s ridiculous that rich people get free seats
he was there for the 1999 finals too. he’s the real deal. Same as Timmy even though people think he’s performative since he’s only recently gotten popular enough to get courtside. Mfer was waiting hours to get Amar’es signature as a kid
I don’t get how anyone is thinking Chalamet is being performative. Dude grew up around the block from MSG and can prove he is a megafan documented by social media. Now he is famous at the perfect time for NY to be up 3-1 in the finals. Bro is living the life.
The dude’s first public mention on social media predates his career by 5+ years, and is about him at 15 tracking down Landry Fields on some city-wide scavenger hunt so he could get a picture and some free tickets
Dude is a Knicks lifer, people just want it to performative bc they want reasons to hate him
It’s weird how much hate he gets, seems like a cool dude to me as someone in their 30s. Listen to him talk about video games too, he knows his shit.
I think it’s because he’s the apex poster child for wealth and privilege, and he isn’t a traditionally attractive Hollywood male. But as far as I know, he’s never done anything problematic and he is a legit actor talent. It’s just low status men being jealous.
His dad is/was a journalist, his mum did ballet, taught French and then real estate. Reading his wiki it doesn’t sound like they were filthy rich.
iirc his family has openly stated they were solidly middle class. being a generational new yorker does mean you’re probably more financially stable than others but he wasn’t born into obscene wealth. dude was running a youtube channel before he caught his big acting break. he’s as millenial as it gets when it comes to big name actors, i think it’s just the usual hatred of new blood that happens with every generation of workers
I believe what bothers people is the media focusing on the celebrities at the game and their reactions. I just found it really annoying watching the game last night.
I wouldn’t overthink it, anybody who gets popular is going to have haters, just the nature of fame.
It’s because people refuse to acknowledge that celebrities can have the same hobbies as them, it’s super weird.
If anything, celebrities can pursue the same hobbies in a way more awesome way… as demonstrated here. It’s not like “eww, basketball, the opiate of the masses.”
See Henry Cavill who is basically making a Warhammer 40k series.
These celebrities have the money to be anywhere else in the world at any time, and they chose to be at MSG to watch the Knicks. Being seen at a basketball game isn’t doing anything for their careers either. If they get shown on camera at all, it’s because they have already peaked or are peaking.
Doesn’t mean anything morally speaking, but there’s no reason to believe they aren’t real fans. You could tell even Taylor Swift, who probably has no real connection to the org, was genuinely invested in the moment.
Exactly, not to mention that Taylor has a photo with Melo and Amar’e from all those years ago.
I just always forget he isn’t French.
His father was born in France, he has French citizenship, and he speaks the language; at that point, it’s hard to say that he’s not French. It’s just that he’s also very much American. They’re not mutually exclusive.
You know what I mean.
I fuckin LOVE the celebrities who are genuine lifelong diehards of a team. That old-ass picture of a 15 year old Timothee Chalamet after grinding out some city-wide scavenger so he could meet Landry Fields and get some free tickets is an all-timer
Super relatable to immediately leverage fame and wealth into being able to sit courtside at your fave team’s biggest games
I love him tweeting about the Knicks winning while at the Oscars.
Ben Stiller: “KNICKS WIN” Rando: “I’m crying bro you’re at the Oscars” Ben Stiller: “Go Knicks”
Ben Stiller: “KNICKS WIN”
Rando: “I’m crying bro you’re at the Oscars”
Ben Stiller: “Go Knicks”
Too good.
Well he ain’t winning one for Dodgeball, what else he gonna do
He was tweeting about games during the literal dark ages for the franchise too, he’s as real as it gets
He consistently shouts out RJ and IQ as well , huge fan.
I’ve been joking with friends but with the way he dresses for games, combined with him being on the court, it always looks like the camera is panning to the coach when they show him on screen.
Last 1.2 seconds.
Apologies for the oversight. But yeah, could’ve titled it better as the final inbounds play of G4 or something like that without mentioning how much time was left.
It’s okay
No it’s not!!!! Arrest this man!!
It felt way longer to the fans.
That’s a long time
Mariska Hargitay storming the court lol
why is that weird? that was a crime scene
“In the criminal justice system…”
“Mariska gets her OG”
“Some crimes are especially heinous…”
yall should watch the og episodes of Law and order. no cell phones and computers so cool
Absolute cinema
Especially heinous
Yeah 9 guys from San Antonio choked to death in the middle of MSG!
Also literally with her hands on the ref 😂😂
Literally smacking his back in anxiety like he’s her friend lmao
if he called a foul she was choking him out and no one would stop her
Also dapping with the guards in front of them
I am guessing he was quite ok with that
She’s good friends with the Brunson fam, you can see her running to hug Rick
She two-hand shoved James Williams, too. 🤣 She’s a big enough Knicks fan that she could support Swift and the Haim sisters.
Jumping into Rick Brunson’s arms is fucking hilarious
What on earth is this team lmaoo
She was a mad woman last night. Only Starks was able to match her energy.
Ben Stiller is on record saying she’s the envy of all celebrity Knicks fans because of her close relationship to the team and especially Brunson. He often goes to hug her after a game, win or lose. She def has the cred to do this.
It must be crazy for any large market team player. If you do well all of these celebs show up to get chummy. Like Drake showing up to every team or the Kardashians requesting Lin.
My friend saw her do a play DURING the first half. Booked it to the Garden, what a night.
At first I thought you meant that she drew up a play for the Knicks.
Is that T Swift who doesn’t know where to look as it goes in lmao
Long-time Knicks fan and Philadelphia native Taylor Swift. I don’t mind celebrities like Ben Stiller whose been a fan since the 70s, but Taylor Swift isn’t that. She’s just there because it’s a high profile event. That shit is lame
Detective Olivia Benson does what she wants
THUNK THUNK
I just have to point out how cool it is to have a video like this from a celebrity, catching a moment, and NOT swinging selfie on themself at the end.
Probably more a function of Stiller being old but it still makes for such a better clip.
Edit: my outie forgot Ben Stiller’s a great director and didn’t know he’s collecting cell phone footage for a documentary on this Knicks run. My innie respects that he’s making a cell phone documentary in exchange for floor seats, bet Spike Lee wishes he had thought of that.
he’s also a major director lol
He said in the pre-game show that he’s putting together a short film or something so definitely tried to keep it about the game and players.
He’s a director, he knows how to work a camera lol
That lady is FEELING up the ref lol
When you’re rich they let you do it!
Grab em by the whistles
I gave out an audible chuckle, that’s hilarious
Foster would T her up
She needs some Law and Order.
Stop it
“It’s detective… not lady”
THAT lady had just finished TWO solo broadway show performances, with the second show starting at 7pm and still made it to the game.
Mariska is an OG
Mariska Hargitay…Mariska Hargitay
>That lady
The disrespect to Mariska
She’s definitely one of those actors that most people know her face but have no idea what her name is.
A little ironic it’s Mariska Hargitay lol
“That lady”
Its New York. Every person courtside is a celebrity.
Nah, she’s trying to push him out of the way to storm the court. 🤣
That lady?! Come on now
Is everyone supposed to know every single celebrity?
Yes.
We are NOT getting Severance Season 3 any time soon thanks to the knicks
Honestly with his current pace we weren’t getting it any time soon anyways.
Your outie is waiting patiently for Season 3
Patiently? Oh hell nah.
Ben might get inspiration from this game
-your innie can make clutch shots in the biggest moments
-yet, your outtie can throw the games away last seconds
Next season about to be all about basketball.
Your outie is serving 2 years for fighting a cop after the Knicks won the NBA Championship”
You can hear Kat tipping the ball.
I’ll do you one better. You can SEE him tip it lol
But can you SMELL him tip it?
I can taste the tip
Just the tip?
Buy the tip.
Poor swifty couldn’t see shit lol
She’s isn’t very poor I think
Let’s not pretend like she knows what’s going on anyways. She’s not a Knicks fan. She’s just there because it’s an event. Lame shit
Everyone is giving OG his props which is well deserved. The tipped inbound pass actually saved the Knicks the game. Castle had an easy lane for a lob if it wasn’t for the tip on the inbound!
Good observation. I didn’t even notice this last night.
Tipped ball
Just curious cause he mentioned this during his interview and my friend didn’t realize this.
Do people think any of the celebs or people sitting courtisde pay for their tickets? I used to work at the garden and most of the celebs you see literally get those tickets free. They contact an internal department here dealing with celebs, giving them free merch on top of a buffet and free alcohol.
What’s hilarious is while everyone else gets free tickets, people like Spike Lee still pays for his. Dolan is a piece of shit so it’s understandable..
Seems like the more money you guys, the less you actually need to pay for.
AFAIK Spike Lee paid up for lifetime Knicks tix. Celebrity row has specific rules; no shitting on Dolan, can’t leave the game early (Emily Ratajkowski has to pay for tix every time now), etc. They get access to a special suite as well. Follow the ridiculous Dolan rules and you get free tix every time.
Curious, and maybe you know - did I see Fat Joe in the Knicks locker room? If so, how does a Fat Joe find himself in the Knicks locker room?
I think a lot of the celebs that go to most games end up getting to know some of the players, coaches, and the owner, so they get special perks like that. Mariska Hargitay for instance is good friends with the Brunson’s which is why she felt so comfortable immediately running onto the court and hugging everyone in reach.
He and Spike Lee are always in the same seats all season. He goes to most of their home games and has for many years. As such, he must have gained a closer relationship than your average celebrity row person.
Of course. They don’t stay rich by paying for shit.
On Inside the NBA, Ben said they just straight up give him the tickets for free.
Yeah that’s what I was saying. I had multiple people around me say “wait do they all get free tickets”.
KAT saved the game with that tip
This is actually the last 1.2 seconds of the game
Shoutouts to Taylor Swift, she cheered the whole game.
The look on her face is not one of a neutral observer, she has some sincere Knicks fandom in her.
I thought she went to the Cavs game and they (the boyfriend) was rooting for the cavs
Yeah, I assume she went there to cheer for the Knicks and be with her man. Forgot where I saw it(I think it was espn on ig) but there was a clip of her being worried while Travis was hyped from a play in that game.
Clock didn’t start when Towns tipped the inbounds pass, and the game should have been over as it came to Castle. Would have been insane if the spurs won because they screwed the clock up.
It is so fucking loud in there my god. Official videos really don’t capture it like these do.
Gonna be a cool documentary when he finishes. Def will watch it.
I have nipples focker
Fox is just an idiot
Who does this guy think he is?!? Some kind of film director???
This confirms KAT did indeed tip the pass, was wondering!
https://imgur.com/7nOZtIT
Mariska Hargitay going nuts is a sight to see.
She pushed that ref.
Kick her off the tour Doug
If this game comes back to NYC and they win it there, how does security even stop fans from storming. Everyone courtside are mega millionaires and many are celebrities, so they aren’t gonna be treated as a security threat. But anyone higher up that can hop over seats to come down and storm the court is probably gonna. Like back in the day when fans used to storm baseball fields. They’d probably need a whole second security team just to guard aisles in the closing seconds.
This Knicks run just pushed Severance season 3 to 2029
holy the arena
Kept it in the moment, didn’t even slide into the frame once.. that’s the definition of classy.
Such a specific amount of time to get wrong.
I hope he directs the documentary
Did anyone see a replay of this on espn? They never showed the replay
This video is wild. There’s a fan (I know she’s famous and my wife will yell at me later for not knowing her name) who is literally draped over the officials back on that final play and…..that just seems normal.
As a spurs fan who hasn’t really watched much basketball in 10 years this loss was devastating
Not enjoying how this Knicks finals run is delaying Severance Season 3 production, lol.
This footage makes me wonder if MSG was louder than LJ’s 4 point play. The Garden shook when that happened all the way back in 1999. What an incredible game this was and this footage is amazing.
Why are citizens just walking on the court?
Courtside seats look great here. You’re standing right next to all of the stars when they celebrate.
Must be nice (closes eyes to imagine courtside seats)
Fans can just grab and push the refs like that? Interesting
Glad we didn’t have to see his crotch this time
Wow that’s loud
KAT with the cat like reflexes to tip that pass wow
It’s crazy how everyone is shouting “defense” and then it stops, as everyone holds their breath as the play unfolds.
nice grab by Wemby on Hart to free up Castle.
It was good to see Jeremy Sochan atleast play minute in the finals
Nba analog horror
That lady is all over the ref. It’s crazy how close they let you sit in the NBA
Short films Oscar nominee?
Looks like an indie movie or Clerks.
I thought this was Elizabeth Warren
Spurs fans googling if the severance procedure is real this morning.
How do you screw up the title so bad. This is the last 1.2 seconds.
Mariska just pushing on the ref lol
he films in black and white?
Cool. A view most people won’t ever be able to afford.
shout out ben stiller, incredible footage and he doesn’t pan to himself. just take in the moment and don’t make it about yourself, i bet most in his shoes wouldn’t have done that.
Hot take: courtside playoff seats should be given to the teams fans who have attended the most games that season
Ben Stiller is a real Knicks fan who just happens to be famous. Same with Spike Lee and Timothee Chalamet. Spike especially has lived through so terrible basketball teams these last 20 years.
Agreed, they should get those seats. They are diehard fans who just happen to be famous. Taylor swift and dj Khalid shouldn’t lol
He might have a future in directing
Straight out of a movie
Almost like he’s sitting in the first row with the best view… 🤔
