[Highlight] Luke Kornet blocks a shot?
This is laughable
Clearly they thought it was a lob cause of how Robinson was going after it
I thought it was a lob until jose was pissed and the showed the replay… they just ran a play the possession before for a Mitch lob but it got broken up by a foul
Mitch probably wouldve tried to dunk It if Luke didn’t touch it
I think Alvarado shot it soft knowing Robison was rolling. It was a shot I think.
real time i thought it was a lob too. when they showed the replay, it was a shot. should’ve been goal tending
[deleted]
lmao
“This shit is sickening” 🤓
Shaqtin a game 4
Looked like a lob live
What I thought it was honestly
Looks like a lob in slo mo replay too
The ball is clearly gonna land before his hands get there
I’m over the anger and literally into straight evil laughing mode. Like I don’t expect to win and I don’t even care. I want it to be so egregious that these refs all get fired. I don’t care if the Knicks have to lose by 50 to make it happen.
I truly feel like you guys have had a bad whistle for 4 straight games now. And I say this as someone who doesn’t care who wins this series.
There’s one thing to be on the unfortunate side of bad judgment calls. This is another level.
The bias is quantifiable. These aren’t just random phantom whistles. It’s icing out the Knicks for quarters at a time and refusing to call fouls against the spurs. Nasty stuff I’ve been seeing from this series.
What’s insane is the Spurs are just outplaying us. It’s very unnecessary at this point.
Turns out, it was necessary, just not enough
Why would the refs get fired for following orders?
He meant Knicks fans are going to try to light the refs on fire like they tried to light that Spurs fan on fire.
I can’t believe the refs made the Knicks give up 41 points in a quarter.
First NBA finals? The refs all on the floor have like 10+ years of experience in the playoffs lol. They will probably get a pay raise for following orders like this.
Yeah but what if you just win anyway
I’m vibrating
Chuckle-able even
Oooh that ain’t gonna sit well
Wilt Chamberlain and George Mikan are hero’s in this subreddit! End o story!
The “blocked” shots…whatever happened there…
You just revealed your own ignorance
i hatea da refs. they punish the knicksa since a hundreda years
Hey was gay, Wilt Chamberlain?
It’s gonna sit fine lmfao. They reviewed Wemby for a flagrant and did nothing
This cuttlefish is not sitting well.
I BEEREEV IN YOU KYEEERL
In real time it looked like a lob, I can see why the refs didn’t call it
I thought it was a lob as well. If Robinson doesn’t go for it, I think the goaltending gets called.
Is this not a lob? Why else would Rob time his jump like that, clearly he wasn’t going for a rebound
He doesn’t know. He’s just going up in case. You’d hate to stay down and find out your guy was putting it up for you.
If Robinson didn’t jump, would you think it was a goaltending then? I think that makes it pretty obvious, I don’t think you can judge it based on what someone else does
Whether it is a pass or shot is the question though, so what Robinson is doing is entirely relevant. It’s a judgment call for the refs, if they think he was trying to pass the ball it is not goaltending
It’s relevant for the ref doing it on the fly, and for judging the difficulty of the call real time. it’s not relevant if we just wanna know if it’s objectively a goaltend or not, but at the end of the day the refs only have so much time before they can make a call.
how is this shit upvoted
you guys ever watch a basketball game before lmao
100 percent
Yeah don’t get people saying this is a goaltend. If you see Robinson jump like that from the corner of your eye it becomes a lob. Was it a shot? Probably. But you don’t block it and Robinson dunks it then what. This is all on Robinson for jumping for a lob.
lol wtf?
Thank you. I didn’t even think about it the first time I saw it. People are being blinded by their biases.
Rule #85, don’t take this sub seriously during the playoffs. Playoff nephs come out like cicadas
Rule #1 lol
Insane to post the replay without the original shot from the normal angle, mfs overreacting cuz of that
Definitely shows who’s actually watching the game.
As someone rooting for the Knicks who think the Spurs have gotten the better whistle the last two games (and today)…I thought it was a lob in real time as well.
thought the same
Yeah I understand why they missed it. It’s silly that they can’t just review this like they review people stepping on the three point line though, there was a stoppage right after anyway.
Same. If Alvarado didnt complain i wouldnt have thought anything about it either. Maybe also because thebdid a lob just before this
Yes pretty obvious thought with Robinson rolling and jumping lol. Everyone saying FIX FIX is funny af
Yep. That’s what I thought so too, I think Mitchell thought it as well.
I want to see the side angle because is looks like its short so its gonna look like a lob.
Yup. Knicks fans can cope all they want
It was off center, too, towards Robinson.
This makes it a 50⁄50 for me. The knicks player jumped acting like it was a lob and he was going to put it in. The shot did not look like it was going in, which also signifies lob to me. If I’m the ref I wouldn’t have called it in that specific scenario.
I thought the same thing in real time
Fix is in
Silver saw the Game 3 ratings and made the call
Huge fix even
Yuuuge
I for sure thought it was a lob. Upon review…nope. It’s a shot
Bad calls to start the game for sure, but the spurs are also hitting absolutely every shot and Knicks are not making shit.
The refs really hate the Knicks
Silver hates 4-5 game series
He wants 6-7 game series
They haven’t gotten a good whistle all series
*All playoffs
They will, if the Spurs wins this game and the next. Then they will get the best whistle of all time, to guarantee a game 7.
Refs have been trying to give it to the spurs for at least 3 of the 4 games lmao, he wanted a Spurs sweep so can market Wemby even more and sooner
Conspiracy nuts should try to make up their minds. Does the NBA want the Spurs to sweep or do they want the much bigger NY market to win in 7 to extended ad revenue?
and they forced OKC to 7 games because ???
Yeah, not like marketing the BIGGEST FRANCHISE IN THE LEAGUE. You conspiracy nuts are funny.
They don’t hate the Knicks. They just want a long series, and believe giving the Spurs a win will help extend the series. If the Knicks were down 2-0 or 2-1, they’d be the one getting the calls. Either way, it’s unacceptable.
And a missed Wemby putback above the cylinder
I’m so tired of them inserting themselves into the game
The fix is in
Two goaltends in a row. Insane.
Fouls are one thing. Missed goaltends are horrendous .
People glazing Zach Zarba when he been boosting the spurs all playoffs
Foster at Game 1 was the decoy for a Zarba masterclass in Game 4
And then a basket interference on the other end. With a Knicks foul in between
So, this definitely should’ve been a goaltend. But this raises a question - would it not also be a goaltend on Robinson if he were to tap this in?
No because players do this all the time where they do this shot/pass and the big man jams it in
It technically should be an offensive interference if Mitch gets it, that’s why it confused the refs i guess they thought it was a lob
It technically would since KAT got called for it during the Nuggets series a couple years back.
KAT always gets bullshit called against him tho
Then that should not be a goaltend either way. Mitch was going for it.
No. Not if the offensive player grabs it before it is over the cylinder.
People are mad, but this a key point. It would NOT have been an offensive goaltend if Robinson dunked it in (prior to the ball reaching the cylinder). It was both a lob and shot, so you have to let the defender be able to contest it… otherwise the defender can’t do anything
Then half of wembys alleys would be goaltending
Right? If he moves his hand, that’s an offensive goaltend. They definitely don’t call it, and no one here cares.
Offensive goaltending: on the cylinder rule
Defensive goal tending: downward motion OR on the cylinder rule
I’m pretty sure the same goaltending/basket interference rules apply to both offense and defense aside from the exception made for dunks.
Offensive goaltending is only when the ball is above the basket.
It would yes
This league is a fucking joke
I don’t watch the NBA but just tuned in to the finals bc I thought the Knicks were interesting.
Watching all games so far, this is the most insanely bad, lopsided officiating I think I’ve ever seen in sports.
I just tuned out because it’s literally so ridiculously biased it makes the game unwatchable. And I’m not even rooting for either team. Zero emotionally invested in this.
What an absolute joke. NBA should be ashamed of this debacle.
Officiating wouldn’t fix what’s happening right now
How could you say that? The first KAT foul was bullshit and him having to sit early changes everything
Two questionable fouls on Towns in the first minute and two missed goal tending calls alone is pretty ridiculous.
Momentum matters. San Antonio is definitely shooting well but what are the Knicks supposed to do when the refs gimp them hard from literally the opening tip?
Refs made the Knicks shoot 5-17 in the first quarter obviously
The Scott foster game in this series is gonna be incredible
Scott has been by far the best ref this series
For real. You know it’s bad when Zarber gives us a Foster game… I hate to think what Foster is going to do.
Somehow even worse than the overturn offensive foul
This is actually a bad mistake, the overturn wasn’t lol
I guess they thought it was a pass but still
yeah even as a spurs fan willing to admit the officiating on the whole has been really inconsistent, and stuff like this just makes me feel like it makes the team look bad :///
Bros let’s be serious here, that easily looked like a lob in real time.
Watching live it looked like designed lob play. Not sure why people clutching their pearls over this
This place loves to refspiracy for the smallest things that’s why. This call is wrong but it’s completely understandable why they got it wrong.
One of the most lopsided officiated quarters I’ve ever seen
I’m sick to my stomach. This is disgusting
Somehow even more egregious than the last 3 games which were already egregious officiating.
I think literally everyone on the court thought that shit was a lob but Alverado lmao. Refs did, Kornet did, even Robinson goes to dunk it in and everyone is confused at the shot.
That’s clearly a pass which is why Robinson is in the back jumping to catch the lob. I swea sometimes I wonder bout y’all🤦🏾♂️
No thinking at all just read title and complain on this sub. It’s easy to see why the refs thought it was a lob. Very misleading post
Bunch of bots
So clearly rigged holy fuck
You hate to see this happen to a small market team like the Knicks
yall upload these quick holy
That’s because the rest of us who aren’t crying are enjoying the game!
Tf are we doing bro
The refs want New York to burn clearly
If I speak I’m in big trouble
Watching live, it looked like he was throwing up the oop
I didn’t disagree with the fouls but this combined with letting Wemby get away with an offensive goaltend is terrible.
????? Goaltend ?????
What can you even say? We’re looking at a Kings-Lakers level of bullshit
Hahaha the NBA is a fucking joke. I’m absolutely done.
Spurs fans saying OKC has the best whistle in the league was wild. Look at this shit
That was a lob to anyone watching in real time
Looks like a lob…
What is this 2002?
THIS IS FUCKING TORTURE
This shit is obviously a lob…?
Looks like a pass? Either way it clearly wasn’t going in
Guess I’m just a moron cause I, like the refs, thought it was a lob
slow mo looks like a shot but in real time that looked 100% like a lob idk
looked like a lob I’m not surprised it wasn’t called
should obviously be overturned though lol
the absurd “fix is in” comments have no critical thinking.
They would NEVER do something this obvious, the “fix” would be finesse foul calls. Not “hey lets not call obvious goaltends”
It’s clear they thought it was a lob, not a shot.
I’m SO FUCKING HAPPY the Knicks won because these calls were some ol bullshit!
Awful awful awful
Spurs fans: um it’s called playing good physical defense!
It’s a pass obviously
Genuinely might be done with the league after this series win or lose
I did think it was a lob when I watched it live, tbf. But on replay that’s a goaltend.
It looked like a lob to Robinson live.
Knicks overcame the Spurs magnet ball and the refs
This is happening on live tv
WTF AM I WATCHING MAN FUCK THESE REFS
Spurs fans will still defend this shit lol
People in here saying it’s rigged when it’s an easy mistake as Robinson goes for it you gotta calm down with this rigged garbage the fans are here are worse than the ones in the street
guys it looked like an alley oop
yes from our hundreds of camera angles we know it probably wasn’t, but look at Mitchell try to catch it and dunk, that’s what the refs assumed it was
Knicks are definitely fucking up but these calls are awful
Tbf, they had just run that same play as an alley in the previous play. In real time, it looked like an alley
How is anyone supposed to believe that these calls aren’t intentional?
He interrupts an obvious alley oop, yes.
Couldn’t be more obvious
RIGGED STOP WATCHING THIS SHIT AND SUPPORTING IT
Fucking hell
Holy shit you cannot be more obvious.
Yeah wrap this shit up it’s so obvious what they’re doing
if it wasnt anymore obvious
Defend this spurs fans
Eh idk Jim
High key the last couple playoffs have me thinking I might be done with the NBA
Why should teams even try to win the first game or two if the refs will just bend over backwards to give it to the other team for the rest of the series as a result, it’s so fucking stupid
This is the most lopsided officiating in a single quarter since Lakers v Blazers
This is insane.
Surprised they didn’t call a flagrant on Mitch
Shit is so ridiculous. KAT gets two quick bs fouls AGAIN and then obvious goaltending, all the while the league pushes sports betting like it’s in good faith
SICKENING
Getting to play by a different set of rules must be nice.
This is genuinely crazy
A legit bad call but depending on the angle I can see them thinking that was a lob.
I thought it was a lob but the replay shows otherwise. Man the game is too fast watching on my couch lol
Tricky call. If Robinson dunks this, it would be a lob.
It does look the shot was short
Knick’s gotta send in their worst player and just deck Wenby in the throat or something. These refs are terrible
Knicks fans gonna stomp on anyone wearing a ref jersey
So if Robinson caught it would we have called the offensive basket interference? Idk if we do, and if we don’t than this isn’t.
What tf was Robinson doing there, it’s a shot attempt but he kinda gave an out to it being a lob.
Everyone is saying clearly lob or clearly floater but in reality this is a half lob/half floater and the defense should get the benefit of the doubt
He was def shooting it… but we all thought it was a lob bc it was so short lol
e: okay the rule does mention “ downward flight with an opportunity to score. ” bad no call but I can see why it happened w/o replay.
https://official.nba.com/rule-no-11-basket-interference-goaltending/
“During a field goal attempt”, I think the refs would say this was a lob pass and not a field goal attempt.
100% a lob, no goaltend
If it was spurs the replay center would reverse it at halftime But for Knicks Nah What did James Dolan do to get the hate?
Definitely a lob attempt - good with it.
THE REFS TRIED BUT COULDNT PREVAIL
No matter, Knicks won anyways
This shit didnt get the call on a one point game.
THE REFS CAN NOT SAVE YOU
