I think NYC is also just the easiest city for this to happen. There’s millions of people within walking distance or subway distance from MSG. It’s so easy for anyone (including trouble makers) to hang out around the stadium during and after the game. In a lot of other cities, people would have to drive in from the suburbs

I’ve been to many Sixers games against the Knicks (in Philly). They take over the arena and are so obnoxious- and yes, this is coming from a Philly sports fan. It doesn’t matter whether it’s a pre-season game or the NBA Finals, they are obnoxious, sometimes hostile, and always annoying. Not in a fun sports rivalry way. None of this is surprising in the least.
I’m ok with obnoxious & annoying. In the sense I can accept they’re taking sports banter too far but to me obnoxious is still explainable as banter. I’m not ok with outright hostile. It’s disgusting.
