[Highlight] Josh Hart Goes For The Ball On a Made Basket, and Then Proceeds to Try to Kick Luke Kornet in the Knee Region
I believe the knee region is called the knee
Source?
Source: Luke Kornet’s left knee
I’m not buying that
Neither am I. I’d need to see a photo or video footage of this.
Guess what
What?
Chicken butt
Dianna Russini
No. It’s only the knee in Knee, France. Otherwise it’s sparkling knee region
Kneece, France*
Kneether region
Lol Kornet just immediately has his hands in the air like bro what are you even doing over here?
Hart looks so goofy for this lol
Confusing levels of stupidity
Including Knicks players leaving their bench. If this had escalated, there could have been suspensions ala Phoenix. Just stupid.
The league doesn’t hate the Knicks like they hate the Suns.
hardenballfacesmackhartreact.gif
Kornet’s response truly provides the proper context to show just what an ass Hart looks like for this play.
It’s like kicking your dog because you tripped over it because you were doing something dumb while the dog just stood there.
And a puppy dog is a very reasonable comparison for Kornet. Dude is one of the most stand-up guys in the whole-ass league; fans love him, teammates REALLY love him, and former teammates love him. Josh Hart is the clown here.
Oh trust me, I’m well aware what y’all have in Kornet.
I’m very happy for you 😡
You guys got our boy D.White a chip, we’re tryna do the same for your boy Kornet. 🤝
(even though Kornet already has one with the Celtics)
It’s alright.
The Murder Kornet is in that point of his career where he’s cashing big checks and going town to town winning titles.
He’s in his LeBron era.
Kornet got that dog in him confirmed.
The crazy part is that kornet was made to look like a bad guy by the media and Knicks fans
There’s a guy right here in the comments telling me Kornet was plotting this and he’s been doing it all series lol. I feel like I’m being gaslit every time I post on here
Kornet is playing the long game.
Knicks fans just started watching basketball three weeks ago it seems
Goofy is one word for it…
You can call it whatever you like brother, world is your oyster lol
Thank you, I’m gonna call it Wilhelmina
Goofy? Naw this is who he is attempting to injury folks.
Heat win a title if this joke didn’t injury Jimmy diving at his ankles.
Yeah, that’s just Josh Hart. Guys like Shai get all the attention for flopping, but effort and defense guys initiate unnecessary contact like this all the time, and it’s equally as stupid and diluting the game.
also, Shamet has been falling on shots at SGA levels and just not getting the call every time. But boy is he continuing to try. It’s embarrassing.
He’s the dopiest guy in the floor with shit like this.
Goofy? More like dirty.
one of the dumbest plays i’ve seen in a while. was hart trying to get a technical on kornet here or what? just stupid as shit.
He had another similar lay up in transition after this and did the same thing. I think he’s purposely trying to get in the way of the guy retrieving the ball to delay the inbounds to give him more time to get back on D. The problem is if you’re going to do it on purpose you can’t then get mad at a player for just existing lol
well if that’s what he’s doing they need to start calling him for delay of game. two of those equals a technical
If a player whose team just made a basket, touches the basketball after it goes thru the net, that is a textbook automatic delay of game penalty (1 warning then techs from then on).
He actually does this every game. He did it alot against the pacers as well in their match ups last season. He technically gets away with it because he doesnt grab the ball but he pushes the ball away by running in the path of the ball. Its one of those things that will just never get called even though I think it gives them a big advantage. I hate it but if he gets away with it all the time, I see why he keeps doing it.
You’re saying hart is trying to delay?
Yes, that’s exactly what he does
On made baskets he basically boxes out the other team to prevent a fast inbounding of the ball
It’s sort of the brand of ball he plays for them
That’s what I think happened to. Hart was trying to get in the way to slow down the inbound and he assumed Kornet was reacting to that.
Yet it appears to me Kornet is just watching the ball and never saw that Hart was trying to get in the way.
Of all people why Kornet
Josh Hart is a Magic City frequent customer (?)
New head canon
I’ve read multiple Knicks fans saying this is a dirty play by Kornet.
Based on what I’ve seen from Knicks fans, they are not the smartest bunch
Up there with OKC fans
At least there you can blame the bottom-3-in-the-nation education system in Oklahoma
The Knicks have some many fans so they have so many fans with 0 IQ
It seemed like a majority of people in the game thread thought this was a dirty play by Kornet. Felt like I was taking crazy pills. But I guess it’s expected in the live threads.
It’s just because the Knicks fans are so fucking rabid and you combine that with a few Wemby haters and the entire OKC fanbase, and you get rabid frothing fans anytime a Knicks player falls down.
Notice how they lost and suddenly they disappear so the dialogue has shifted back to people who actually watched the game objectively (note I don’t count myself in this because I’m obviously biased as well, but I’m seeing fans from basically every non-Knick/Thunder fanbase talk about how much shit New York is getting away with game to game).
Live threads attract the type who don’t have friends to watch the game with…
Knicks fans are very low iq people.
Starting to feel like the OKC series all over again. Not sure why it’s like this – Minny and Portland fans were great for the most part.
Knicks always need to create a villain out of any team they’re playing and the online fans LOVE to play the victim.
I am loving the whiplash of who the villains are from this series
It’s because whoever loses, those fans and the haters disappear, so you’re left with two groups left A) the winners, who are obviously not objective and B) all the other fanbases, who mostly are just calling it like they see it. Right now the only fans showing up are Spurs fans, the rest of the NBA, and a few whiny OKC/Knicks fans who are trying to say Kornet is the dirty player despite Hart kicking him in the knee out of the play.
So far, it’s been a brutal series for both teams. Spurs getting away with stuff, but so are the Knicks, they foul Wemby on every single play no matter if he’s on offense or defense.
Yeah I felt like I was going crazy in the game thread with how many people were saying this was a dirty play by kornet. The bias and toxicity in those threads has been unreal to read as a neutral
Then you have Brunson’s dad coming out and talking shit. That dude has insufferable “dad is the coach” energy.
It was literally like at a little league game when a drunk dad is screaming at the umpire. Sit your ass down and let the head coach coach
I cannot fucking stand Rick Brunson. He’s living vicariously through Jalen because that motherfucker never amounted to jack shit in the NBA. Dude, fuck off and let your son play and the coaches coach.
If you kick a starter in the knee like that you’re getting ejected.
Harts playing like an idiot tbh
so many unnecessary fouls. Even his flagrant fouls had zero upside. They wouldnt injure out the player and had no impact on the play.
And the bench risking a tech for walking on the court.
Yet Knicks fans complained about a mistake in subbing in Harper that went uncalled.
This did too lol they are coping so hard in the loss.
Never thought this would happen, but I will enjoy this comeback more than OKC.
That’s what I said when people complain about no call on the Spurs… like the Knicks benefited from no calls, as well.
The Suns lost a shot at a ring because Amare got suspended for what a couple of Knicks did right there clearly on the court off the bench and they did more then what Amare did.
Kornet literally did nothing wrong lol harts being a baby
Kinda surprised Alvarado didn’t get anything for going on the court.
Silver’s NBA is lax on a bunch of rules that were supposed to be hard and fast.
In fairness though, the situations are a bit different. Back in the 80s and 90s, and especially after Malice in The Palace, Stern was having to crack down on actual serious fights.
That stuff is a thing of the past now.
Yeah game was getting chippy and he was trying to bait them, I think he was ok with getting called though - mostly just wanted the game called a little tighter since that benefits Brunson.
I know he didnt see it. But Kornet was going only for ball here. He just walked into him.
huh? he absolutely saw it. thats why he dove in front of him
anyone who’s actually played basketball knows there was no foul here. if anything, hart kicking his legs out, is not a basketball play. this one had me so confused watching live
Next level flopping, hold a dead ball until someone touches you then flop
Knicks fans booing this even after seeing the replay sure was somethin’.
This is actually loser behavior. Hart is the one who cut Kornet off (foul), grabs the ball (delay of game) flails and plays victim and kicks Kornet and shoves him (technical)
But unfortunately that would make the FT differential even worse for the Knicks and people would complain
The game thread was fucking hilarious people acting like Kornet did anything wrong here and called him dirty for some reason
brother, there were hundreds of comments last night that were getting upvoted saying Wemby is a dirtier player than Draymond Green
I said after the Naz elbow that it was an inexcusable lapse in judgment, but that people were ridiculously out of line acting like he was the next Draymond or Lu Dort. Had someone unironically tell me that that play was “worse than anything either of those two had ever done”. People have the memory of a goldfish when it benefits their narrative
Yup. If he keeps doing stuff like the elbow? Sure. Eventually he gets the “dirty player” label. (That’s why I hope he doesn’t keep throwing bows).
But calling him dirty NOW??? Comparing him to Dray NOW??? Gtf out of here.
Thunder fans using Victor’s dirty/retaliatory plays (depending on your perspective) to argue they proved, somehow, that Lu Dort isn’t dirty is some of my favorite work on this sub all season.
These poor Thunder fans’ mental health swinging with every lead change during the Finals.
Meh prisoner of the moment stuff wouldn’t care too much about reddit comments on game day
Yesterday I saw a guy raging calling wemby a bitch for blocking shots after the whistle lmao
Also, on highlights posts large_banana_hammock is a knicks shill so I guarantee his highlight clip for this had a biased title
”…and then gets pushed by Kornet”
The broadcast was fucking horrendous last night
Bald ass Jefferson has had bad blood with the Spurs for years after fleecing the city for millions while he was here lol
Knicks fans are trying to say he’s glazing the Spurs 🤣 It’s like they don’t watch the games, just react
RJ helped get us a chip, so I’m biased in his direction…but holy shit did he have some awful takes last night. It was borderline ragebait.
He and Reggie Miller are both terrible.
He literally had to apologize for how loud and excited he was when Wemby shoved Brunson because he thought it should be a flagrant during the replay.
I usually don’t notice announcers but I just assumed he has some NY connection I don’t know about.
Dude is still salty rookie Kawhi took his minutes and his starting spot within 10 games of his career.
Right. WTF was hart doing there outside of trying to rage bait
Pretty strange. He’s hawking that ball as it comes out of the net like its a rebound for him. He kicks at Kornet in frustration and then just to make sure he gets T’d up, shoves him.
KAT: “That ain’t cost us the game. Turned the ball over. Didn’t execute,”
Brunson: “I think we turned the ball over a lot, first and foremost, and also we were fouling a lot and put them at the line about 30 times,”
Mike Brown is a loser - his players aren’t even buying his complaints
i think it is the coaches job to defend their players and complain about the officiating, the players should not be the ones thinking of that as it is out of their control. i agree that i didnt like the way Mike was doing it but it made sense
They called a technical on Hart for this.
If only there was a rule that specifically covered when a player on the scoring team interferes with the ball after it goes through the basket (Rule 12, A, section II, a2).
They will get upset about Spurs making a quick sub though and claim the refs are not being fair.
A quick sub to challenge a call we were screwed on twice.
Never ever underestimate a New York teams ability to play the victim
That was objectively bizarre. Even assuming the spurs shouldn’t have gotten a tech for having six players on the court, how did the clock go down and not get reset to what it had been?
Any of you guys remember the month in 2012 (or whatever) when this was a point of emphasis? Then, poof, forgotten
I kinda disagree. This was one of the very few rules like this that they actually called enough to change player behavior. They’ve since eased up so it’s not an automatic delay of game unless you do something dumb (like what Hart is doing here), but it used to be like every play the team making the bucket would try to grab the ball to let their teammates get back. Player behavior has changed and the rule worked.
Knicks fans: “Rules, schmules”
Didn’t they hit him with a delay of game/tech for this after the break? Or was it for the kick and dust up? Either way very goofy to go for the ball after a score and start a fight. Reminds me of a similar play from Luka in the Finals and people were mad the Celtics ran him over, but you don’t touch the ball after you put it through the net
Its so funny that people were trying to blame Kornet for this. Kornet is trying to get the ball out the net and get up court as fast as possible. Hart is trying to delay that (and commit a delay of game in the process) and he proceeded to throw a fit and kick Kornet and then have multiple bench players run on the court.
Is bench players coming onto the court during an altercation no longer a suspension in the playoffs?
Its supposed to be an ejection. They were never going to call it though
I think there was a TO? Otherwise yea they should’ve been
Yep people focusing on wemby shoving Brunson. This incident was way more significant. Kornet getting fouled/kicked and then knicks bench clearing to jump in ans fight.
Knicks got a massive break.
You got a basket. Why are you actively going for the ball? Go back on D!
People acting like Kornet did a dirty play, when Josh was the one who cut him off.
You got a basket. Why are you actively going for the ball?
To prevent a possible quick inbounds from the Spurs (which should be whistled). The guy’s a clown.
Players arent supposed to touch the ball after they make basket. Its considered a delay of game and technical foul.
Not sure what his thinking was, unless he was gonna try to orbit the ball. But legit looked like he was trying to catch it
It’s only a technical foul after the first. The first one is just a warning
Right, but if you foul Kornet in the process, then continue to delay as you kick Kornet in the knees, maybe the T should be immediate.
Don’t tell Knicks fans this, supposedly the refs are out to get them.
Refs out to get them 😂😂 literally Adam Silver’s favorite team.
God damn I almost wish we got Knicks Thunder just so they’d almost get an idea of what it’s like. They might have to play an entire series roughly 50⁄50. Both teams and fanbases would lose their minds at seeing another team be treated fairly.
Knicks fans would’ve burnt the city down by now if they had to play against a Thunder whistle.
I don’t think a lot of people said this was a dirty play… Everyone was as confused as Luke lol
Knicks fans are very passionate about clean play, I’m sure they’ll be quick to call for a flagrant here
Isn’t Hart the same guy who clearly grabbed someone’s ankles in game 2 as well to trip him on a fast break? Yet Knicks fans are up in arms cause Wemby pushed Brunson lol (while Brunson had a fistful of Wemby’s jersey)
Yes. He did that to Vassell to prevent him from getting a fast break bucket. It was clearly intentional from the replay.
I think it was Vassell. And it wasn’t even really necessary. The ball was poked away and there was no chance of retrieving it.
He had a free path to the basket and would have gotten the ball.
He’s also the one who injured Jimmy during that 23’ finals run
The Knicks aint innocent and watching their fans bitch this much has been comedic
The still salty OKC fans have also been hilarious.
Honestly though, both teams are committing uncalled fouls almost every play…and I’m fucking loving it. Give me seven games of this.
I’ve never seen a fanbase have so many people remove their flairs, it’s hilarious. OKC fans were talking like they were a dynasty and now a large portion of them don’t even have the balls to show they’re Thunder fans while they try and talk shit.
It’s been wild how rare Thunder flairs are on this sub now. They may have their title from last year but the fact no one respects them speaks volumes
Thunder fans would be very mad at you if they could read
Brunson also stuck an elbow in wembys ribs the play before. But you don’t hear them mention that.
No he’s the guy who fingered Brunson’s ass
After 2 decades of being ass, those outside the division are finally being reminded how fucking annoying their team and fans are. I’m shocked it took this long, but I knew it was coming.
Just a scrappy guy ™
It’s always funny when guys flop then try to act tough.
Also unclear why the Knicks bench cleared when Kornets just standing there looking confused.
The ease at which an NBA player can collapse to the ground on minimal contact amazes me.
Going for the ball on a made basketball should be an automatic delay of game call as well
why is alvarado allowed to just run on the court and confront kornet here?
Timeout was called. But i thought the same thing. Perhaps long overdue karma for the suns suspensions in 06’ or 07’
Yoooo you’re right! Automatic suspension right there
Lol why was he even trying to go for the ball? It wasn’t even in play yet, thats delay of game at minimum. He just jumped in front of Kornet and got mad. Why?! 😂😂 then to kick out at his knee AND THEN get up and push Kornet after that is crazy. Easy flagrant.
But Knicks crying off the Wemby Brunson push😂 both teams were on bullshit last night and got away with a lot of shit and everybody needs to stfu about fouls going uncalled lol what a silly game from both teams.
Edit: Kicking at someone’s knee like that is probably the most egregious shit you can do in the game of basketball. I’d rather you punch me in the face or balls because I’d still be able to finish the game at least. Kicking knees is season ending, potentially career-ending shit. I still like Josh Hart but that was actually fucking crazy fr lol
Intent can be debated ,but player safety shouldn’t be. This was a dangerous play regardless of motive.
If Kornet’s leg was planted and weight bearing that could have easily ended his series if not more.
Look at the replay, Kornet’s eyes was looking above and was going for the ball only. Why would even Hart try and grab the ball after a made basket. Regardless of the result, it was all his doings.
If Kornet sold it and fell to the ground for 15 seconds or so and grabbed his knee, it would have been called a flagrant. The spurs need to watch tape of Brunson flailing to the ground and grabbing his back when castle ran him over, only to get up and be fine when the refs called a review.
(This is a mostly sarcastic post)
Intent isn’t factored into flagrant or techs right? No need for debate. Just look at the actions.
[removed]
I never realized how often Shamet flops , especially on screens…luckily the refs haven’t bit on it even once this series lol
We’re watching in real time a lot of good players changing their games trying to get more calls. Look at Chet too, guy started doing weird stuff all of a sudden.
All of a sudden? Lol
Unfortunately they will keep doing it because its working.. Look at Jaylen brown.. All year he was complaining about fouls then he flipped a switch and started doing what SGA and brunson do every night and immediately started getting calls.
KAT too. He sure falls down a lot for a guy who is fucking massive.
Just the knicks? Have the spurs not been doing that too and this is coming from someone who is not a spurs or Knick’s fan?
Tried to injure Luke Kornet, seemingly one of the nicest and most wholesome in the league, of all people.
When was the last time a player intentionally kicked someone AND shoved them without any retaliation, and they weren’t ejected?
Kind of crazy that wasn’t handled more seriously
Glad they didn’t eject him, would have helped the Knicks.
I mean he was 6-10, 4-7 from 3 and found himself in the right place getting a lot of critical rebounds and loose balls late in the game…I get you were going for a jab, but it would’ve been a big hit to lose him for the second half, and having to play their bench guys a ton more.
Natural made basket motion.
Is it not a tech when the bench goes out onto the court?
And suspensions. Ask the Suns.
That’s a lot of warmups leaving the bench area
It’s only a problem when the Suns do it.
Hart has had a couple dirty plays now in this series
In his career*
This dirtier than anything spurs did last night but this sub already against the spurs so this will be buried
Knicks have a gigantic rabid fanbase + the entire Thunder fanbase are rubbing their grubby little hands together at piling on the Spurs every chance they get. It was always gonna be like this.
NY just has strong media influence, slowly people will start to realize who the real shitty fanbase is. We don’t just jump random people for wearing different teams clothing/jerseys. Joke of a mentality and fanbase
Looks like the hate wagon/overreactions shifted over to the knicks in just one game.
That’s what happens when your fans assault people for wearing a Spurs jersey
1000% tried to kick the knee, Hart’s a dickhead cornball
Legit zero Knick flairs on this lol
Damn that was dirty
Kornet obstructed Hart’s attempt to get a delay of game call.
love jhart but this was stupid as hell
Dirty not stupid
Hart is a clown for this bullshit too
“Basketball play” right there I guess. Shit should be an automatic suspension. Ran straight into a dudes elbow and flopped then tried to kick a dude in the knees. Fine and suspend this player
I’ve seen this play run in the montage of “Did the Spurs get away with physical play” discussions today. This was so obviously Hart’s fault lmao
Bench players entering the court during an altercation is supposed to be a tech, right?
Hart has always been a bit of a clown.
Both teams played hard
He’s just like Knicks fans.
“This Knicks team is so nice and cool”
The Knicks are losers except for Karl who is a sweetheart.
So many Knick fans in the game thread were crying about how dirty we were after this play, when their dude is going for a delay of game trying to rebound his own basket and then kick at the knees of a tall player? What a fucking joke🤣 No wonder they just beat up anybody in different jerseys, fanbase is full of idiots
He only did this because it was Luke Kornet and knew he’d let him get this off.
What the fuck are the Refs doing. Low and dirty shit from Hart. Of course he would have the gall to get up like that too and start shoving.
So Josh hart does a bitch move, follows an even worse bitch kick. Causes the whole thing, and then gets upset. First time I realized I may not be a hart fan.
I love Josh Hart. That said, this shit is so silly man come on.
How dare Kornet interfere with Harts delay of game violation? Absolutely a good reason for Knicks players to leave the bench and not get punished.
Josh Hart is a bitch.
Kornet is already going towards the rim for the putback/rebound if need be so he obviously can’t stop his momentum there…. Not sure why Hart is taking it so personally and trying to injure him.
I missed the lead up to this last night and just caught hart “retaliating”. Assumed kornet did something dirty. Knicks could be likable over spurs but are making sure they aren’t.
Hart is a paper weight apparently
tf was Hart even doing.
Listen I literally have a Hart jersey and I can admit this was stupid of him. He’s a good dude so I really don’t know what was going through his head. I also think Wemby is probably a good person who has made some dirty plays that weren’t called at all, but we can’t really complain about those and try to explain this away at the same time.
Also is everyone on the bench now suspended?
ESPN Instagram account implied that Kornet should have gotten a technical here lol
