It was a lot louder on the initial broadcast. I texted my family about it because I was actually surprised they didn’t suppress it more. This clip definitely dialed it down somehow.

Nah. Modern sports broadcasting is a lot better than it was pre-COVID. They have mics that are made to pick up sounds well in one section of an arena and use a bunch of those so they can separate audio and control the levels. Lets them balance sound better for broadcasting, but it also lets them dull crowd noise when it’s “appropriate.” I’m not sure if it was pioneered by the WWE, but they use it a lot, and even pipe in cheers when they know they’re not going to get the reaction they want.

This clip has the same dips in crowd noise the ambient phone clips had at the beginning, and had the same volume fluctuation, and I heard more boos than cheers in this broadcast version, just as I did in the phone videos
