Kyle Freeland is now the Rockies all time leader in innings pitched with 1312.2!
An actual legendary pitcher for managing to pitch for the Rockies for that long.
with pitchers avoiding going to the rockies it’s surprising someone’s been there that long
That’s mightily impressive. It makes sense as he has been an inning eater for them for a while.
Impressive mentality to go out there and get rocked in Colorado for a decade
If this guy wasn’t in baseball he could probably be a Navy seal or a mountain climber or something
I know people that make it that far are a different breed but I would have no problem getting embarrassed on the mound for a decade for $74M (his career earnings). Though his career is far from embarrassing.
And you get to live in Colorado. Win win
No, it sucks here, go away
His 2018 was probably the best season ever put up by a Rockies pitcher, if not, at least second to Ubaldo Jiménez in 2010.
Easily. He got Cy Young votes even.
And it’s a damn shame, too, because him AND the Rockies haven’t been the same ever since.
That’s what happens when you make very little changes to the roster and grab middle of the pack players and call them upgrades. Also the driving force for a disgruntled prime Arenado.
He would’ve won Cy Young several years, but that season had some legendary pitching seasons
Just looked it up, he had better numbers at home that year.
Kind of falls into that Patrick Corbin (minus the WS) field of not very good but always pitching.
First two seasons: 11.2 bWAR
8 seasons after: 7.0 bWAR lol
Ok but hes pitching in colorado, patrick corbin didnt. Kyle freeland is much better than people are giving him credit for, if he was pitching his entire career in like ohio or something his 2020-2024 seasons would look better and more aligned of what you would call a good middle of the rotation pitcher
That 2018 season in colorado is straight up miraculous .
Denver kid, too. And honestly, his career mid-4s ERA is pretty impressive given half his games are at Coors.
The fact hes a native is the only reason he stuck around.
Wow. Great for him man. Dedicated to the rock
Say what you will about him, but it’s pretty rad that a Colorado kid accomplished this.
I was curious and looked at other teams leaders and it is a bit low for the old franchises, but less surprisingly it would also be #1 for the Marlins, #3 (by 7 IP) D-Backs, and #2 Rays
all expansion teams go figure
Well, yeah. In addition to not having as much time to set records, players used to change teams a lot less before free agency. And pitchers would throw more innings each year.
It would be 3rd for Toronto if you only counted IP since 1993.
Congratulations to him, pitching in Colorado isn’t easy and he has made a career out of it
Atta boy KFree. Even though your prime was very small, still my favorite to watch.
Wow, congrats
thanks i hate it
It’s a dirty job but someone’s gotta do it
Big respect to a fellow foot lover
I’ve been to two spring trainings. Kyle Freeland destroyed my team twice.
That’s insane! Hopefully a Topps now
1312.
Freeland said ACAB.2
Lmao ACAB
