this isnt rly wemby. it’s the meta of the whole league. because there’s no nba rules distinction between the ‘switch’ perimter grabbing screens/paunt gortat screens and actual set screens. so if you start the screen contact within roughly span of your body then you can basically just toss people around (unless theyre good floppers who can use the contact to somersault over one of your legs)

Yea, this stuff is getting out of control. Because they don’t call simple things like moving screens, you have an arms race of escalation around fighting through screens, pushing people, etc. Then it affects the whole game as everything gets too physical. I wish they would just stick to the rules of (basketball and let a lot of this other stuff naturally clean up. (Of course I am one of those people that still wants traveling called so what do I know)

We are definitely able to play a more physical brand of defense. I think last series both OKC and San Antonio were able to play this type of defense on each other and the calls for it were very limited. This series we have been able to keep that whistle while New York for the most part are getting called for matching this intensity. I don’t see things getting better as long as we are down a couple games in the series so I understand the frustration.
Some of these are over the limit and has to be called tbh.

Not for nothing, but if you slow down game footage you see a lot of fouls in every game. Thats why reffing is bad, it happens in real time.
Most of these are completely fine? The Kornet one was called and doesn’t look dirty. A couple of Castles are egregious holds but the rest of these plays have been pretty standard through the entire playoffs. Only valid complaint I think NY fans have is that Hart seems to not be getting the same benefit of the doubt the other 9 players are getting.
The problem is the soft contact fouls being called against the Knicks. Including two against KAT that changed the entire dynamic of the game.

Not sure why this needs to be explained again, but more physicality is allowed in the playoffs. More physicality is also allowed on dribblers and players off the ball as opposed to players in a shooting or passing motion. Steph Curry has scars all over his arms from this very thing, yet he PEAKED at 6.5 FTA.
