We’re talking about the voice actor for the narrator in Darkest Dungeon. The discussion was that it would be nice to have him in PoE2, which is obviously not possible.
How: 13k energy shield, mixed with relics that buff max honor and energy shield, mixed with some boons that increase max honor and energy shield.

It`s kinda funny how fast a run can go downhill in this. Last league i had one where i was cruising and picked up “you take 5% on hit” - it felt fine since i wasnt really getting touched… Then one of these dudes on the 4th trial that shoots an artillery barrage at you pops up and just one shots me straight up 😃
As far as im concerned 5% on hit is one of the biggest avoids
As someone who always ran an Evasion character, 5% on hit is a free choice and never had an issue
That said, I am not playing an Armour/ES Recoup and I fear even thinking about that node

Yep, I lost my first run of the league to that exact thing. That Artillery thing hits like 20+ times in under a second.
Those mobs types you get in later floors are just sadistic. I don’t know how years later they haven’t gut the trials. They must truly enjoy making players suffer.
The 5% damage on hit bypasses the ‘take no damage’ buff. I learned that the hard way last season
on the other hand: mayor boon:“you gain 2 sacred water on being hit”
AFAIK it has been changed to 50% less ES.

How on earth do you get up to 13k ES? I’ve picked up most easily accessible passive nodes, spent a bit of money on some armour upgrades, still can’t hit 3k.
Oh you can definitely hit more than 3k with bad gear and only passives. Im at currently 10k and my ES items probably dont amount to more than 4 or 5 divs. I think when i got to lvl 80 and got a ~600 ES vile robe, my ES jumped from 3 to almost 7. You can look for some jewels with ES, they’re a big help
Definitely easier to do on witch, you can get a pretty good amount of ES on a focus. I’ve seen witches with 17k ES.
Of course, i run around with eva build and choose between -40% dmg or no evasion
2 times i pledged it off and got it for the 3rd time as well
Ps: all were choises like, “no eva” Or “you have no eva/es and armour”
At leasr eva dont effect the honour Xd
I recently popped my one and only 4-stage Barya in order to get my last two Ascendency points on my Mana stacking Sorceress, only to discover that for some dumb reason the game counts Maximum Mana towards Honour only if the player has taken Mind over Matter, but not if he/she has just converted ES into Mana with Eldritch Battery, relying on equipment and Ascendency for the “damage is taken from Mana before Life” part.
So, as a Mana Stacker, I am screwed, having only about 1600 Honour, with a single hit deducting around 200 at the very least.
This game is a serious constant source of immotivated and random frustration.
Had 18k. Zakroth got me down to 250 on my assendancy run…
That’s fun and games until it turns out you don’t have enough damage to one-shot Zarokh, and then he Thanos-snaps you during his time-stop phase, because you missed the last stone to step on.

The slow used to be much stronger in 0.1. It’s now a non-issue tbh.
That and we have sprint.
I was like 2 doors away, and got unknown afflictions then immediately got you have no evasion. I was pure evasion. You are never done until you are done.
NEVER take unknown afflictions or you are not taken to the room you select. Those are so brutal, the most important thing in Sekhema is control. Always have a choice, always have control over what you are taking.
Until 3 rooms merged into one with the worst affliction for your build. 😀
I mean you see the pathing ahead of time, never path in a way that forces you into a 1 room path. This is why I said, always have a choice.
Exactly. Always plan your route, do not take routes that force you to take only one option etc. This combined with proper relics makes Sekhemas pretty easy.
The other 2 choice before that was run ending as well, so i had the choice of a run ending or a non rebuff with a single choice. It was just bad luck.
The trick is to think ahead while checking the path and dodge this
You pick literally anything before a 1 way path or things like unknown afflictions
If traps have to deal me more damage, enemies has 50% more HP or I have to lose 30 water in every room, anything better than bricking your run
Always takes relic that makes you see 1 extra room ahead.
Theres no such relic. Only boon.

I took unlnown afflictions on the second stage yesterday, my kext affliction was double afflictions. I somehow won. Just went for the fewest affliction rooms possible, no matter the rewards.

Ha, no. The trial can and will funnel players with bad afflictions down a single route path and then slap you with a bad affliction anyway just to make you suffer the loss of time.
For my 4th ascendancy I was only around 5k ES and with relics and some booms I got to 16k
Killing Zarohk was quite easy
Even easier if “you cannot be damaged until next room complete” makes a timely appearance in second last room
That’s cool, I seem to get the boon “make believe you’ll finish this” attached to the minor affliction “you have no defenses, cannot gain honor, and your dog is now dead”
Boy I’d hate to see a major affliction. Certainly not when I’m in the middle of typing a comm
Oddly enough, most of the major afflictions are just various forms of “Here, lemme click the exit button for you and close the trial so you can try again.”

I had 2500 honor with 200k dps. A bit stressful but at least bossfights didnt last very long 😆
Not if you take the nodes where every hit does a % of your health and get shotgun by the bosses multihit skill
Or you get hit by those spider cauldron things that hit you like a 1000 times in a second
I did 4th ascendancy yesterday with ethical lightning spear/storm lance spirit walker, had total honour pool of 2,5k and it was doing just fine until 4th floor escape trial where I fucked up and got stuck in corner with mobs and took one of those off-screen artillery barrages to the face, made me go down to 1,4k or so. For further stress I was forced to take Hungry Fangs affliction (Monsters remove 5% of your Life, Mana, and Energy Shield on Hit) just before Zarokh. Needless to say I was clenching pretty hard during the boss fight, had to do all the mechanics more than once, but managed to make it with ~500 honour left at the end.
Seems like you have never been hit by that long flying lava trap that hits at 30 hits per second in gauntlet.
Sometimes having too much movement speed results in funny stuff happening like dodging thru 2 but landing on the 3rd but then getting instagibbed from the 5% per hit debuff

They changed it forever ago to make it much much easier for melee. I did my third one last night with 3000 honor and lost honor literally one time and I lost like 12 honor lol it was so fucking easy

I just decidsd to do chaos trial instead because sekhema bullshit just kills me inside, after I had to fight a proximal tangibility and invulnerability aura mob
God help me, there are some “exit game” affix combos. I’ve closed maps with a guaranteed reward I need because of it.
the boon on the relics that you can see rooms further is a must since you could plan to avoid getting afflictions. i finished mine with 5k honor and capped resists. and relics that make you see rooms further.
