Yeah, I get what you’re saying, and you did acknowledge that it’s a different sport, but baseball has really high variance from game to game. It’s very rare for a team to “have someone’s number” and be able to consistently beat them more than like 70% of the time.

Well baseball is more susceptible to this due to being a relatively low scoring game and there being a lot of variance from game to game. Over the course of a season good players are good, but you can also easily just have a 2-3 game period where you can’t hit for shit

Pitchers are never the same, batting has variance, and changes in who bats/pitch selection will have effects.

Add the fact that the Knicks won the season series against the Spurs too, and the Spurs being young, and the Spurs being tired. This has all the hallmarks of both a Knicks championship (which is incredible) and a sweep.

Silver lining being both games went to the wire. A shot here or there and this series is 1-1 or 2-0 in opposite direction.
