Brunson is still favored by odds right now but that is likely due to the expectation he’s going to play a lot better in the remaining games.

Because as of right now I agree it’s 100% Kat and not sure Brunson would even be 2nd. Despite hitting the game tying shot and game winning FT in game 2. And some clutch moments in game 1. Overall he’s been bad and the others have collectively played very well.

I mean I know KAT has been objectively better than Brunson by every metric, but Brunson did will them to a comeback in the fourth quarter of game 1. I think Vegas expects more of those heroics - especially at home.

All that said, KAT is clearly the MVP right now. They don’t win either game without him; but Knicks essentially won game 2 without Brunson.

Brunson made some big shots down the stretch in game 1, but they don’t need those heroics if he even has an average shooting night. His struggles through the first 3 quarters were a big reason why they needed that comeback in the first place.

People are focusing on Brunson because of the Hammon comments and shit, but this is KAT’s series so far. And it not super close as far as Knicks players go. Not only has he been balling out offensively but he’s at times taking the toughest defensive assignment too.

Brunson is clearly the favorite both in the nba’s eyes and Vegas’s eyes. He’s 3 times as likely via implied odds.

He hit the tying and go-ahead points in back to back games.

Pretty even split between him and Brunson, could go either way, depending on how the rest of the series goes. If KAT is leading the FMVP debate, it’s not by a lot, and pretty negligible at this point.

I’m not thrilled to say it, but Brunson got bailed out by his teammates. And he would deserve pretty much all of the blame if the Spurs tied the series at 1-1 last night. But.. that didn’t happen.

He can silence the talk if he shows up at home, but if he doesnt, the Spurs have a real chance to make this a series again.
