[Uthayakumar] The Knicks : 44 days since their last loss. 13 straight wins, the 2nd-longest streak in NBA playoff history.
This run is beyond historical
If they sweep they tie the record of the 2017 warriors, crazy lol
Two greatest postseason win streaks in history:
The Dynasty Warriors who just added prime KD to a 73 win team
And the 53-29 Knicks in a “WCF is the real championship” year
You mean, “eastern conference first round is the real championship” 🙃
Hawks gonna finish #2 in the postseason AP Poll
Hang the banner!
CJ McCollum deserves a post-finals presser
Get McCollum to the parade!
Honestly he deserves it. This run is in part thanks to CJ lmao
As we should 😤
Of course an SEC team ends up high in the polls despite the loss
Atlanta is yellow jacket country 😤
(I’m lying)
They had a quality loss.
Cavs are actually up 3-1 right now.
Analytically
With Florida football right behind them for no reason
atlanta hawks are going to be like the washington commanders the year brady won with the bucs, the only one they ever feared
Knicks learned from the Hawks how to win games by 1 point or by 51 points.
only thing stopping the hawks from winning it all.
Hawks going to be the guy that loses to the guy
Spurs also going to be the guy that loses to the guy
Rockets going to be the guy that loses to the guy that loses to the guy that loses to the guy that loses to the guy
It took Lebron, Kyrie, and Love to keep those warriors from a perfect postseason. This year it took CJ McCollum and a band of merry men to stop the Knicks
To be fair, CJ McCollum and a band of merry men is a scary dark horse opponent.
CJ ‘I’m a Nice Guy’ McCollum. Pure killer.
Not only that, it took a night where those 3 guys combined with JR Smith to shoot 21-37 from 3… in a Game 4 in Cleveland where they were down 0-3 and the series was already over, and it was just a last stand pride thing for LeBron and co. whereas for the Warriors it was just “oh well, we’ll just finish it next game at home.”
The “power of friendship” unsophisticated Knicks that analytically are worse than the Cavs.
Knicks is an anime team, so make sense they have the plot armor
And will have only lost by 2 points total lol
2 wins away from a title, and their average loss in the postseason is by 1 point whereas their average win is by over 20 points.
Those warriors went 16-1. Best Knicks can do is 16-2 right?
Ahh. Or you’re probably talking about the 15 straight wins.
At some point they need more respect from the masses lol
Mike Brown x2
Mike Brown’s magic!
If they sweep, they’ll go down as a top 10 most dominant playoff run of all time.
But everyone don’t forget during the Hawks series the Knicks were a bunch of bums and the Mikal Trade was the worst trade of all time.
I’m not directing this at you but just calling out how stupid overreactionary this sub/reddit is
I read that the Knicks and Hawks series was the real finals
But the analytical finals though?
And that Mike Brown needed to be fired. Fan stands for fanatical for a reason. The shit people were saying was wild lol
Thats just r/nba ‘eritage mate
Only 10? Its legitimately top 3
Them, the 17 Warriors and the Fo, Fi, Fo Sixers
Lakers in 2001 went 15-1
It’s crazy they remember the sixers run but not the Lakers lol
I mean, Fo-Fi-Fo is legendary and a famous story in the NBA world, but Lakers were the record until Warriors one-upped it, so I would imagine people would have heard about it more recently.
They beat 4 50 win teams and two 1 seeds that year. They were mostly blowouts as well with historical dominant defense efficiency.
And that Lakers team didn’t just have the 15-1 record — they had (and still have) the highest net rating for a playoff run, even higher than the 17 Warriors who had a higher win percentage.
They really should be considered the most dominant playoff run ever.
I mean it will literally be top 2. For me, best ever for the fucking drama of the whole thing. The best team to ever be a team winning is sort of expected.
if they sweep this will go down as first time ever in vegas golden knights utah mammoth history
not even a week ago where people were saying “They played easy teams, wait till they go up against the Spurs” 👀
Nah, it was only done against Eastern teams
How good are the Hawks
CJ > Wemby, Fox, Spida, Embiid, Maxey, and Harden
CJ legit was the second coming of Haliburton in those 2.5 games
Rest in Peace, Hali. We are doing our best to carry on your legacy
see you in valhalla, brother.
It’s like I can almost hear him
“Quit tellin people I’m dead!”
CJ McCollum my GOAT
Bruh even Kuminga was giving us problems
Brunson was getting belt every time cj got him off a switch lmao
And no team has tried to replicate it since😂
Dyson Daniels smiling rn
He’s lookin up at us smiling rn
But from Australia, not hell
CJ is getting a ring for putting the fear of God into Mike Brown.
CJ forced Mike Brown to show the world his bankai.
Maybe the lessons learned in that series are serving them now
reminder the hawks were up 2-1 on them at one point
That was probably one of the biggest fanbase crashouts ever
tbf that’s just the knick way i’m sure there is a crowd out there still dooming up 2-0
As a Knicks fan I’m still not comfortable enough with a 2-0 lead even though this is literally the best situation to be in. I keep thinking about the documentary they’ll put together if the Knicks somehow collapse from here.
Same i cant feel safe til buzzer sounds in a fourth knicks win
We could be up 12 with a minute left in a closeout game and I’d still anxious
Pacers.
Yeah I’d prefer they go back to MSG with a 3-0 or 4-0 lead.
First team in NBA history to win a series 6-0
You called?
Our doomer ass fanbase would 100% be dooming up 2-0 lmfao
Man I’m glad Brown didn’t get sacked after those first 3 games
If only we were a good team. We haven’t played anyone good. We will get swept by any West team.
After what the Pacers did last year, not sure why that was a talking point lol
Every NBA fan who doesn’t actually watch enough always wants to default to West > East when it just clearly isn’t the case
The West dominates the East until its time for the West to dominate the East
I do think it’s fair to say though that if you were making a top 8 it’d likely be 5-6 from the west and 2-3 from the east. And I say that as a Knicks lifer who just wants to see good basketball (so I have ended up watching lots of non Knicks game in my 30 or so years of watching)
And in the 2-3 from the east people wouldn’t have included the knicks this year or the pacers last year
Pacers last year? Probably. But the Knicks this year? I could see happening. I think I had them in the finals before the season began.
Literally the highest point differential over any 10 game span, historical dominance over the other Eastern teams, and all you get are comments saying shit like, “Well those teams suck”
Other teams have had easy paths playing against bad teams, why didn’t they just score more?
Yeah, why not sprinkle in a 51 point series clinching win on the road here, a 30 point series clinching win on the road there?
It was mostly fans of teams bitched by OKC/Spurs pushing the narrative too to make themselves feel better.
Pacers were an Achilles away from beating a “potential decade long dynasty”. Who isn’t even in the finals. OKC and SAS were the two best regular season teams this year but the playoffs are two months long, anything can happen
Nobody here will actually talk ball. Just were saying hawks took them to 6 as their analysis as to why the Knicks were gonna get blown out this series.
Brother in Christ nobody here actually knows ball lol
Yeah, they just looked at the Hawks 6 seed and didn’t realize that the Hawks had the best record in the East post All-Star break. They were a 4 seed disguised as a 6.
Same with the Sixers. They were healthy for the first time in ages and came back to beat the 2 seed Celtics.
Maybe next year you’ll play a good team
It seemed a little odd everyone thought the spurs were going to run through the knicks. The Knicks obviously elevated during the playoffs. Spurs in their first playoff run. I had it 50⁄50, see how the first game goes.
I legitimately didn’t even realize the knicks got good, then poof, they’re good.
Theres been flashes the past few years. Its just clicking this year, despite a bumpy ride midseason.
Flashes?
They made the conference finals last season and were in round 2 for 2 years previously….
You’re telling us lmao
All time run. Just pure grit from this Knicks team
Even over the corrupt refs. Amazing.
We were molded by the darkness, the greyshirts might aswell be Charlies Angels to us
which one is Lucy Liu though
I rarely talk about the refs, but holy hell some of the calls even had the commentators baffled. The Tech on Mitchell was insane especially when you consider the fact that for the rest of the game, they were just letting everyone hit each other.
The 4th and 5th foul on Towns as well were absolute nonsense and were back to back. Towns is more than capable of making dumbass fouls on his own and has shown to do so all playoffs.
I’ll ignore the intentional kickball at the end because the refs didn’t have a view of it.
You didn’t even mention the missed foul on OG’s 3. If the Knicks didn’t have a challenge there, it would have cost them the game.
Yeah, I’m not sure how they missed that. The ref was literally standing right there.
Tony brothers
it was by design
Mike Brown masterclass on saving his challenge till the end
not only was the tech egregious, but then they didnt call a tech on Fox later in the game when he got in Brunson’s face and then pushed another player
Wemby got a layup and 1 and no one touched him too. The refs tried to give it to the Spurs and it was blatantly obvious.
The two consecutive calls on Kat is absurd.
I will never in my life forget that foul that was called because Brunson hit the guy’s hair that was flying.
Very nice run. Very evil run. Good for the Knickhausens.
Team of destiny.
There’s hot but this is lightyears beyond that
Destinyhausen
Dynasty*
If the Knicks emerge as the real “dynasty” instead of Denver / OKC / Spurs, that will be like such a weird timeline
There are no dynasties in the second apron era. CJ McCollum finding a way to defend against the Knicks, even without playing them
Let’s have it!
How about we win 1 first?
Mike Brown a legend
This really catapults him into the upper echelon of coaches and makes everyone question thibs
Thibs was great for establishing a culture here though
And development, we all joke about the minutes but now with a coach who does rotations like a normal coach they’re insanely conditioned
For real, and it showed in game 1 when Brunson went out with those injuries and returned a few minutes later.
Feels like the mark Jackson to Steve Kerr transition
Holy shit, thank you. I watched a LOT of those Cavs teams and really liked the way he used Big Z and Varejao. Kerr is like “Let’s unlock the guards I have Draymond” and Brown is “I can use the bigs, I have Brunson”
Not surprised at all, brown was under steve kerr from 2016-2022 and won 3 of em…then went to sacramento for 2 years; ended their 16 year playoff drought, became the first unanimous coty, and got fired after not meeting expectations with demar derozan? Lol
Glad things is working out for him here in new york though, he’s built for it
Absolutely, thibs built the house, brown renovated it
Thibs is the Showwalter of this situation for sure.
There is nothing to question about Thibs. He was 100% what we needed at the time, but majority of fans knew he’d never get us over the hump. Great developmental coach but not championship caliber
Credit also goes to Thibs for getting the teams Cardio up… They don’t get tired.
What’s interesting is this is the second finals for Brown as the head coach, and the first time he got swept. The team that swept him and his Cavs team? The San Antonio Spurs.
At that time, the Spurs were the much more experienced team, with Tim Duncan being arguably the best player in the world, while LeBron was just in the first few years of his career. Now the Spurs have Wemby beginning his seemingly legendary run as a player while the Knicks is the much more experienced team, even if their best players aren’t as seasoned or talented as Duncan was
3 of the 4 Warriors championships came with Mike Brown as an assistant coach. He’s also won Coach of the Year twice.
One of the worst jobs for getting credit in the NBA these last two decades is being the coach or GM of a LeBron led team. If you win, it’s all LeBron’s greatness. If you lose, you didn’t provide LeBron with enough support
Forever will support him. Great guy, great character
They are for real. Everyone had tunnel vision for the competition in the WCF, as if that’s the only the way to build a team. There’s never been a modern team in the West, or East frankly with as much shooting as these Knicks. OKC are a nightmare matchup in their own ways but they can’t play this style of basketball
I took NYK to win in 6 (figured there will be at least 2 games where KAT gets into foul trouble) but man, the way they’ve kept this streak going on the road is super impressive
7 of our 9⁄10 rotation players have shot 40% from 3 over a season and even Clarkson and Alvarado can get hot from 3 any game
he got into foul trouble tonight lol
On 2 horrible calls that even the commentators were annoyed about.
2 horrible calls after the spurs guards were allowed more contact on Brunson than my wife would allow
Yea if Richard Jefferson is complaining about calls then you done fucked up.
The Knicks always play at home
I thought whoever came out of the East was getting swept 😄
East? I thought you said Weast
I always say this line in my day to day life and always get weird looks. Then one person understood the reference and I felt on top of the world for that one moment
When are we going to talk about the west as some bum ass region already?
OKC only won because Pacers got hurt, Nuggets was just lucky with the competition. Then look at how supposedly weak eastern teams just dominate the favorites from the west.
Just because there are less teams that sell during the regular season we have to pretend the west is strong?
More like west is a breeding ground for weakness.
Disregard this if Spurs turn it around. Then west is godlike lol.
Generational run by Mamdani
may never lose again
It seriously feels like there isn’t a single person on the Knicks team that doesn’t believe they’ve already won the game
Flow state. No different than the Dallas run
Closest thing I’ve seen to players being so locked in is 2019 Kawhi playoff run, but it’s the whole Knicks team with that attitude
That playoff run Kawhi is one of the best players I’ve ever watched but both KD and Klay go down in the finals. The Dallas and this Knicks run is against healthy teams
98-0 in 2027, and Josh Hart wins league MVP with 2000 total rebounds
They need to stop icing out KAT on offense and going back to the Thibs-Brunson dribble out the shotclock offense.
Rick needs to scream at JB again. Way too much time spent dribbling the air out the ball tonight
Yep. So much fucking iso ball and missing shots, like why the fuck are you being so selfish?
Seems to only happy in crunch time but it’s been working soooo lol
Not even Tony Brothers can stop this train
Put Mamdani in the Hall of Fame, this shit is nuts
If they win with him as mayor it’s going be like a 20 point bump for him.
they said sharia law would ruin our city
SHARIA WHEREVER YOU ARE YOUR LAWS BROUGHT THE KNICKS TO THE GREAT BEYOND
My mayor is Muslim My bagels are Jewish My Christian is dior Knicks in 4 bitches
Imagine what it’s like from his perspective. Try telling Mamdani in January 2025 that not only are the Knicks going to be up 2-0 in the NBA finals in 2026 but that he’s going to be the mayor!
i’m hoping the championship parade grows into a fullblown socialist revolution.
Danhausen
Big deal. I’m very used to the Knicks not losing at all in June.
Unfortunately they can’t become sole record holders if they win out.
One of them good problems to have. Oh no we tied the record for domination.
I mean they can keep it going next year👀
The 2026 Knicks could potentially be the greatest playoff team of all time. Even the Warriors’ one loss in 2017 was a blowout.
2001 lakers. Only loss was in OT in the finals. Knicks would be second imo
These are debates that could be had and that is fucking insane lol
JB and KAT really changed our broke ass lives 😭
If only Spurs had CJ McCollum..
Sweep ties the record.
CJ McCollum looks more impressive as each game passes
theyre gonna sweep probably, gg knicks
My real championship will be the day we beat your asses in a series. First round, play-in, whatever, don’t care 😂 NBA runs through the east
deadass if we win i dont care anymore. no one will ever beat me in an argument for the rest of my life
Warriors streak in danger
CJ Mccollum > Victor Chucklingmidrangamba
Victor Turndaballova
KNICKS MAY NEVER LOSE AGAIN!
They’re on a legendary run
This is a legendary run they’re on right now
There’s going to be a conversation about how “weak” the East was. Feel like this was heavily over exaggerated during these playoffs.
Is this the decade of the Knicks?
Thanks Danhausen
You stop and look at these guys. OG is a max player. And if the Knicks didn’t give him that others would have. With big game experience. Bridges may have been an overpay. But he was the main piece in a KD trade and has big game experience. A lot of teams wanted him from the nets. Kat is all nba level player. Mitch has been one of the best rebounders in the game for a few years now.
Dudes like castle, and Harper and the non Wemby guys are really talented. But they don’t have close to the resume these Knick players have.
Experience is always talked about when it comes to playoffs in all sports. But it seems like it was ignored when talking about this series.
Love that Danhausen.
Thank you Danhausen
Mamdani al-Gaib
You can thank Danhausen for that
If they win it all they better put Danhausen in the parade and gift him a ring. Like a replica though, the real deals are expensive.
who knew danhausen would be the most important piece of this nba playoffs run
Do they take the streak record of they sweep?
They would tie it, then just need to win game 1 of 2027 to break it
All thanks to Danhausen
This only elevates the Hawks
Wow Atlanta was better than I thought.
