[Stein/Fischer] Minnesota’s Micah Nori, Boston’s Tyler Lashbrook and Blazers acting coach Tiago Splitter are finalists for the Trail Blazers HC Job
The fact that Splitter wasn’t just given it should show you how horrible this new ownership group is. Took over the team after the HC gets arrested, and with no HC coaching experience leads the team into the playoffs. Deserves a fair shot with a couple of offseason and season. If Splitter doesn’t get it maybe Brad and Joe can bring him in on to our staff.
Whichever one is willing to do it for the lowest salary gets it.
Are the TB know for being cheap?
Their new owner is
I’m losing track because there are so many of these billionaires in positions of power who have no fucking clue what they’re doing, but…
Isn’t the new Blazers owner the guy who laid off over 50% of the staff the day he took over?
And I’m pretty sure it was reported as soon as the season ended that he was basically running the coaching search like a construction contract bid: he was deliberately trying to find people who would take less money
“Billionaires who have no clue what they’re doing”
Just wait a couple years, the born billionaire class is entering young adulthood right now. They’re going to step into high levels with no skill, shit education, and full entitlement.
It’s gonna get bad, lol
The final interview will be whoever offers to take the lowest salary gets hired
They should keep Thiago. He did well
Can’t coach at all, never make adjustments , and cant create a offense set for nothing
He took a lottery level roster to the playoffs. You do that and then tell me he can’t coach at all.
Id be surprised if they get Nori, seems like he’s been one of the next in line guys to get a big time gig. I wouldn’t want to be working for that ownership group.
Since when has Tiago splitter been teaching acting? Is that going to help with basketball?
What clearly happened here is the new owner is not actually rich enough to be able to afford to team, and is now leveraged to the tits, and is doing anything he can to cut costs, including how much he pays the coach.
If I’m Splitter, I’m getting out of there and trying to start a long stint in Chicago or Dallas.
