Jeremy Lin breaks down the Knick’s defense to offense
He has such a way of articulating points and making it so understandable. The plays he breaks down are all great examples too. And you know he’s not in it for the sound bites but for the love of the game.
For real, you can tell he actually studied the game deeply instead of just relying on his natural talent. His breakdowns feel like you’re getting a mini film session with a coach, not just a former player rambling.
jlin as coach arc?!
I don’t see it not happening. If he can hold the players down he’d make a good/great coach.
I mean, he went to Harvard
it would be nice to see j lin on tv, surely amazon could get him in?
Nah, I’d rather he stay independent and give us honest analysis.
In that case, get him on The Ringer
God I would love him at least as a recurring guest with Zach Lowe. Lowe is so great with actual ball nerds on with him.
If Jeremy Lin were on TV, we would no longer need to merely imagine him telling us what the betting odds are sponsored by whoever.
The ex-player analyst field is pretty crowded. Lin won’t get that much air time if he goes to one of the big platforms.
Nice analysis. Some of the things he points out will be helped by the fact that other than Wemby we play small. I don’t think they’ll have the same luck with transition points and fast points off rebounds. OG is the key to the Knicks beating us
I think it’s Hart. He needs to hit his threes, if not Wemby will just camp in the paint completely closing it off
I’ve been thinking about it and watching replays since the WCF win, and my bet is on KAT overextending Wemby’s defense coverage.
The thing that scares me about Wemby is that he always bounces back from a bad game. If he does something wrong in one game he’s going to correct it in the next game. Brunson is similar in that regard but more than a foot shorter and hence less threatening
The Knicks have more depth in ball handling than the Thunder does.
Wemby wont be able to just key in on 2 guys.
Knicks in 6.
That’s why in the 3 matchups this year they put Wemby on the worst shooter of the Knick’s starting lineup, Josh Hart. Although the Knicks could counter by subbing in Shamet. I had no idea he could defend like that, he shut down Mitchell down the stretch of a game
Hart and Kat both of them. 3s and 2s as well.
They will probably just play Mohamed Diawara at PF if hart shoots poorly, Knicks have more depth at the front court then the spurs
Nah, Mo is guy no 14⁄15. He won’t play unless it’s garbage time
mo hasn’t been in the rotation for months.
That’s a good thing, Spurs won’t really expect him to play
KAT is gonna be the key. Wemby is gonna guard him and he can’t just stay in the paint because KAT is a lethal 3pt shooter. If he draws Wemby out of the paint that is going to create a lot of opportunities for our slashers.
Wemby isn’t going to guard KAT
My bet is they put Vassell on KAT and hope KAT get in dumb foul trouble being over aggressive on the smaller defender
Then KAT is getting free buckets.
I’ve seen Vassell block a center every round this post season.
congratulations
Thank you
Such a surprise from him. Was not expecting him to shut Chet down as much as he did.
I mean it’s way easier said than done. Spurs perimeter guys get to be super aggressive because they have the best help defender in modern times behind them.
those clips are a result of some talented finishes too. that OG dunk and mikal alley oop tap in aint easy.
Needa see him do a full analysis on Thunder vs Spurs
Him talking about how lakers guarded Shai(tan)
J-Lin is such a great analyst. I hope he gets on a much bigger platform, he might mesh well with the Amazon Prime crew.
Did he hire guys to do the graphics for him? It’s relatively simple stuff with rings highlighting players, and arrows basically, but it’s really impressive and illustrative for a former player’s content.
Most players would just talk bs on a couch and call it content. A lot of creators on YouTube would just show the play and talk about it. I’m impressed at the production quality
This was posted on NBAs official instagram so probably had someone to help him with the graphics
Also, pretty cool that they had him featured
They are sharing their platform to a lot of ball-focused content creators like Daniel Li.
Lin is being way too easy on the Cavs defenders.
This guys pretty smart he should go to Harvard or something
Someone get this man a mic and some noise suppression. Feels like I’m listening to a zoom call of someone talking down a hallway
He’s gotta be invited back to the Garden right? Bring back the Linsanity!!!
I’m loving this series. It’s so refreshing compared to your mainstream NBA media content.
I liked his analysis, definitely a good one .
One thing I want to say about Wemby. Part of the reason why Wemby often doesn’t get a lot of rebounds, especially offensive rebounds, and shoots a lot of threes is that the distance between him and the opposing team’s rim is shortened. He’s really good at limiting transition offense because he is almost always sprinting back to the paint after a missed shot instead of trying to keep the possession alive.
This kind of strategy will be tough for the Knicks to implement against the Spurs because these guys are very rarely lazy about getting back on defense like the Cavaliers.
It’s not even lazy from the Cavs I think. The Knicks just got a bunch of athletic wings with good stamina. The Cavs doesn’t have that many runner that can match their pace and frequency.
I should have used “inadequate”, instead.
Yeah that’s fit.
I feel like stopping the transition has been a Spurs strategy for some time. I might be misremembering or just totally wrong but I’m sure Pop was very adamant about just leaving a token rebounder on offence while everyone else got back to stop the break, he felt the benefit of an extra possession wasnt as important as a stop. Im sure they were near bottom in orebs while being near top (bottom? I never remember which is good in this context lol) in transition points allowed for a while
Mike Brown comes from the school of Pop, so I’m not surprised they have a similar playbook.
Knicks still got the spirit of Thibs
Remember when Kenny Atkinson used to rip up J-Lin’s plays
He said Knicks have 11 more points in transition? Is that even a lot…? Is that per game…? The whole serie…?
I think it’s per game, because that would be less than 3/game if not, which Isn’t a lot
As an Asian American Thunder fan, I will be proudly wearing my JLin Knicks jersey all series and hate watching the Spurs.
Some team should hire him as a HC.
ok..what does ja rule think
the way he talks irks me , i wont watch this video
? Strange because he speaks clearly, concisely, and is articulate. What, specifically, don’t you like?
like he’s reading off a paper. like he’s giving a class presentation.
Interesting. He just seems prepared to me but okay.
carmelo is that you
