Also just had a down year with multiple separate injuries and his trade value will reflect that, very unlikely his value tanks more than it currently is

People overreact because he did less than nothing in the playoff series this year and was one of the main reasons they lost. He was coming back off of injury, he previously played well enough to earn that contract

This is what’s funny about. More so since that kind of money in the NBA right now is just a quality starter money, which Braun showed he can be.

Also, he had an injury-riddled season and a shitty playoff. I wouldn’t close the doors on him yet turning it around and playing up to his contract

yeah i think it will be a good contract in the long run his ankle was clearly fucked up for the entire season he couldn’t even dunk the ball like he normally does.

It’s not even that much when you take into account other role players’ contracts and other superstars. We’re seeing more than double the amount with some guys getting \(50M-60M/year. We're not too far from \)70M/year. On top of that the cap is set to rise making that 21M-25M look even smaller.

That and he had a very injury riddled season this year, and was playing much better down the stretch

He’s what I consider an “Otto Porter” type when healthy. He’s your steady number ³⁄₄ opting that is jack of all trades master of none

it’s also because Denver had absolutely no need to early extend him. Even if he performs like he did last season, he’s still not gonna get more than 125m in the RFA market, so what even is the point of extending him early with no upside and only downside.

It is a bad contract but Denver shouldn’t trade him because it would cost too much to move him. SG is the most replaceable position (Tim Hardaway Jr. says hi!) and Braun barely even shoots 3s, he’s a decent but not lockdown defender, and his cutting game works well with Jokic but is also quite dependent on Jokic to the point that it would likely not be as effective on another team.

Nah there is absolutely no reason to pay Braun $20+ million a year or be in a long term contract with him.

Him being hobbled handicapped his strengths and exposed his weaknesses. When he isnt moving in transition, cutting to the basket, or hounding you on defense, it would appear to the layman that he is worthless. He hesitates on threes, and isnt great and bringing the ball up the court, the two things we really needed against the wolves.

Also great in transition, their best or second-best perimeter defender, and a smart cutter, all traits you want in a Jokic teammate. That contract is fine. Not the best value but he played out of his fucking mind last year and there was reason to believe he had room to improve

He was bad before the injury too. He took last summer off so as not to risk the contract negotiations and came back a worse player. He was a limited player before that, so it’s pretty devastating

Bro can’t shoot, create for others, create for himself, or do anything on offense besides cut to the basket or score in transition, it’s over.

He can’t bounce back, he needs to actually develop to make his contract worthwhile

Same. He’s not that second option, but as another Duncan/Beasley-type shooter, I’m 100% on board. Loved him at UNC, and I know he had a down year last year, but I still think he’d be a great fit with the Pistons.

If you’re talking about Jamal then I agree, he’d be the first one I would trade personally. And I say this with a Jamal flair too lol

Trading Murray after an All-NBA season is the way going forward. Otherwise it’s going to be the Mavs post-2011.

If they bring Peyton Watson back and don’t salary dump someone, their tax bill would be over $100M.

He showed flashes of being a good ball handler, good self creator, good shooter, elite defender and rim protector, and elite athleticism.

It would be very hard for Denver to find this much of an upside swing in the next 5 years.

Honestly yeah the PWat hype got way out of hand last season. He’s a good defender and has flashes, but acting like he’s untouchable while Braun has a ring and Cam has been a legit scorer is wild.

Or pay them all! There’s no player realistically that Nuggets can get better than those three by not going over the 2nd Apron

KCP dropped off so far, and so quickly, after leaving Denver. He was great during the championship season, but letting him go is one move I agree with.

Braun and McDaniels are effectively making the same amount of money…I left that series thinking if we had someone like McDaniels we would have truly had a shot at the championship. Even if Braun takes a leap in development I don’t think he will ever reach that level. 

To me, Cam for Watson is okay. Braun for Watson would be excellent.

I may be wrong but I believe in Cam. I also think he has the desire to get the ring, which is the drive many on nuggets don’t have anymore cause they got one. I also don’t think he got the right offensive role in the plays but he hit his shots well after injury. I’d rather trade someone else, Braun would be perfect. I’d consider some other starters too (not Mr Nugget) but that gets me downvoted here.

Tim prolly will get bigger offers so it’ll be dependent on if he wants to stay. With Brown I doubt he’ll get any bigger offers and he loves Denver anways so he’ll prolly stay with us.

Because people are basing him off last season where he was hurt. They aren’t thinking or the season before when he was in the running for most improved player.
