If I’m Presti, I’m getting rid of Dort, who I think is a negative on this team. His shooting is bad and it’s compounded by the fact that he sometimes takes these contested shots he has no business taking in the first place. There’s a reason Daignault took him out only a few minutes into the game.

I think Chet was bad yesterday, but at least he got some blocks and steals and is young and talented. I’m not ready to give up on him yet. He has room to grow. There’s also the idea that Chet is probably best as a third option and not a second option. Yes, he’s an All-Star, but I think his value comes from being a competent perimeter shooters and rim finisher who is a good defender inside. He’s not a creator offensively. If you put Chet on the Lakers instead of Ayton, where he would clearly be a defender first and a scorer second, he would thrive.

I also think they need to look into another SF/PF type three and D player. If Jalen Williams is healthy in this series I think it turns out a bit differently. SGA really needed that other guy who could take the pressure off him offensively, and Williams’ versatility compliments SGA so well when he’s healthy. They were basically wanting Chet to be the 2nd option, and when he wasn’t doing it they had to rely on Cason Wallace (who I thought was awesome) and McCain and Caruso to score.
