There’s a tweet going around that said something like if Brunson looked like Ant he’d be the biggest star in the league. Someone else said he ain’t never getting the shine he deserves cause he looks like Redd Fox.

I don’t know about all time rankings or Knick all time rankings, but I do know that if I need to pick one guy in the league to hit a clutch shot at the end of a game, he’s top two at worst (healthy Haliburton is the only other one up there with him.) 

Definitely best Knick since Ewing and there’s a huge gap between him and whoever you would say is the second.

Most importantly he’s been completely transformative to the franchise. The culture, the belief and just the positivity Knicks fans have is really different these days.

Even when they had mild success with Amar’e and Melo there were segments of the fan base that didn’t like the team. Knicks fans really like this team.

I would say he’s already a top 5 Knick, I’d have him #4 behind Frazier, Ewing, Reed and if you want to argue Monroe or over him I don’t know enough about that 70s team to really argue about it. Thing is though I do know what the Knicks have been like since the mid 90s and none of Houston, Sprewell, Marbury, Stoudemire, Anthony have been able to do what Brunson has not just in terms of on court success but truly galvanizing the fan base.

And he’s so enjoyable to watch, his first step when driving to the basket just always looks like a brilliant chess move. Long time Laker fan and this is the first time I’ve fan boyed a Knick. Really love his interviews, too. Dry humor.

He’s also the perfect star for NYC.  

People think you need a loud personality to be successful in NYC, but those are the ones that crash and burn.  You need to know how to say the right things and not give the media fodder.

Just look at folks who succeeded in NY recently: Jeter, Eli, folks like David Wright, Patrick Ewing, etc.

They all knew how to keep their mouth shut, personal views hidden, and not give the tabloids fodder.  

Brunson is like that too.

And he took a massive, unprecedented discount on his last deal to facilitate building this finals squad.

Ranking Knicks is kind of a silly exercise

And there are a bunch of guys who won rings that like 8 people in this sub probably ever saw live

But if Brunson wins a ring obviously he elevates above anyone that didn’t win a ring including Ewing despite Patrick’s longevity of excellence

Clyde won two rings including a heroic Game 7 performance, and then devoted the rest of his life to being the teams best NBA color commentator of all-time

Even if Brunson does the same I think he’ll still have a little ways to go as far as his affect on the franchise, he can’t surpass Clyde until a 2nd ring or at least a long career and even post-career as a Knick

As a Celtics fan, I don’t know if I’ll ever forget how Brunson sank every bucket against us in clutch time.

Pls kill okc or the spurs for us. Rooting for the brethren on the east coast, after the Knicks prove time and time again they play beautiful solid basketball

Imagine having Luka and Brunson on the same team.

If he didn’t keep sweeping everyone he could pad that stat even more.

Reading those playoff stats really puts into context how awful the Knicks were. I watched most of those seasons and it was so damn demoralising each time. It’s one thing that we weren’t competing for a title, but the team wasn’t even fun to watch or root for. Super grateful for what we have going now with Brunson, I just never thought it was possible.

It’s actually insane how the Mavs got Luka and Brunson in the same draft. 2 picks that look the most obvious in hindsight.

Luka was already the most accomplished professional in the draft and had the most polished game, Brunson was the most accomplished college player in the draft and had a very polished game for his size. The fact Brunson was a 2nd round pick is still crazy

I really hate this narrative like KAT didn’t make the conference finals three years in a row. I know Brunson has been a great star for New York but I don’t see them making the ECF last year w/o KAT.
