We’ll see how much the BYU boosters care about Kevin Young. They let Mark Pope walk because he wasn’t worth what Kentucky offered him.

Kalani Sitake is a beloved figure in the state of Utah, to the point where Utah fans love him too (he used to be the DC there). He’s also viewed as a great ambassador for the church too which is why the church allowed the boosters to give him a much larger salary than they normally would because they really didn’t want to lose him.

With Kevin Young he’s kind of always been viewed as a rental by BYU until he gets an NBA head coaching job. BYU probably goes after Mark Madsen from Cal if Kevin Young goes back to the league.

This is incorrect. Polynesians were absolutely not allowed to hold the priesthood originally. The ban ended before it did for black people. In 1955 they started allowing some Polynesians to hold the priesthood.

BYU hadn’t been to the sweet 16 since Jimmer Freddete in 2011. Kevin Young brought them to the sweet 16 in year 1. I think he is worth every penny especially since they never had a single tournament win under Mark Pope.
