Yes, Wemby is the better player but mvp is an award based on performance in the regular season. Wemby could’ve won it if he wasn’t on minutes restriction throughout the season but at the same time maybe he ends up getting injured by playing more minutes.
If it was based solely on who performs the absolute best in the regular season it would’ve gone to Jokic. Team success and narrative are too influential on the voters and that’s why people are annoyed.
Jokic missed more games and was way less consistent as well as his team playing pretty well without him. Shai played more games, won more games, was consistent af, and he did so while his second best player was out for most of the season. The only reason I could understand choosing Jokic is for pure stats but even then it’s not like Shai didn’t score more on insane efficiency while also being a good defender on the other end.
Jokic after coming back from the injury was extremely inconsistent and the nuggets had some bad loses down the stretch because of it.

SGA’s eFG% even last playoffs was worse than injured knee Luka eFG% in his 2024 run, and Luka is not known for efficiency, was regularly doubled at halfway (this only started happening to SGA this year not last year) and was not shooting his 3’s well most likely due to injury.
2024 SGA wasnt a dropper as he was guarded mainly straight up. Go watch Mavs vs OKC and see they played him 1 v 1 all series. Even then all the possesions that DJJ was guarding him his efficiency TANKED

Shai does perform in game 7’s historically well, but like if he doesn’t this time around I think he ain’t really done shit this series to be honest, even if they do win game 7.
